- I wasn’t planning on it, but after so many of you requested it, I decided we had to take a closer look at Mr. Winters and see if we could dig up some information on the most obscured character in the Resident evil franchise. And I mean that literally, you can’t see his face.

First Resident Evil character who put their own hand into their inventory.
Leon: Your right hand comes off?🤣
Yep.
Here before 1000 likes
And leg
Perfect😆
The reason why Ethan can't regrow lost limbs and instead has to reattach them, is most likely because he never reached that stage of Mold infection before he killed Eveline.
or it just takes longer? maybe we will never know
@@Fullmoon1857 ya it takes longer even years to reach jack level mutation but ethan killed Eveline within like a day I think so he wasn't strong as the other molded.
@DM420xx he hadn’t regenerated he had just not collapsed yet
Nah it's cuz ur mom
his whole body is mold he been infected for three years and the mold was the only thing that was keeping hi M alive mia even says it in the game to chris that jack actually killed and ethan is special that why rose has power it because of ethan
Ethan has really become a memorable character, especially nearing the end of Village.
He’s the least interesting MC in RE history
Yep, Ethan is great.
@@Jobrosfan44 isn't that the point? isn't he supposed to be an everyday man?
A tragic fate doesn't arbitrarily make a character interesting. If Andy Murray suddenly died on a Tennis court, it wouldn't suddenly make him charismatic or engaging. In fact, that's the laziest trick in the book. Offing a character in a thinly veiled attempt to provoke some kind of emotional response from the audience 🤮🤮🤮
@@anopirsten7565 He's a nothing man, that's the problem. It's one thing being relatable, quite another being little more than a glorified mannequin.
Ethan's new reloading animations are because of his military training from Chris. In re7 he always drops the clip.
Could also be from the handgun/firearms training book you find in Ethan's library, the one written by Joseph Kendo.
@@JackalRelated i can't remember off the top of my head but im pretty sure ethan mentions getting training from chris
@@jerms_mcerms9231 He does! I'm just saying he could've learned a thing or two from the book as well.
I think someone on the dev team was probably just tired of games always showing the protagonists dropping clips when there's still ammo in them. It's a nice touch of realism, although it still doesn't beat Outbreak having its characters manually inserting bullets because they never get extra clips
Exactly he was trained by Chris. Before that he was a bum Civilian with no military service/background.
"From losing fingers to familiy dinners …" Made my day. Good job, Kai!
*losing Loosing is something else.
He implied your index (trigger) finger is an acceptable loss, Kai's crazy
From losing his life to thinking he has one...
i don't think Ethan has ever "regrown" anything, reattach sure, so i think his healing factor is limited to if he still has access to the severed part, since his fingers are now sitting in a Lycan stomach he can't reattach the missing fingers.
What about his heart?
@@willieb.hardigan6402 Spoiler.
don’t think he ever “regrew” his heart. Mold just allowed him to live a while without it. I think that’s y he eventually dies. If he got his heart and put it back inside he might have lived.
@@willieb.hardigan6402 i'm pretty sure he died because of that one, it was the mold keeping him alive, not a new heart, hence why he calcified
I literally came here to say this. Glad someone else knew better. Lol
well you also got to think he has never given it enough time to grow back and I have a theory that sense with the lycan bite sense they're more of a stronger version of the mold it clashed with his healing abilities. or that it takes a lot longer for him to regenerate limbs sense he was infected with Eveline's mold which wasn't the most "pure" version of it considering that the game takes place within a 24hr time period. though that's just what I think and what I think isn't cannon so.
Resident Evil 7: Ethan finds his wife Resident Evil 8: Ethan finds his daughter Resident Evil 9: Ethan finds himself
i wish that could be it for re9 but.. :(
Resident evil 10: Ethan goes back to louisiana to fuck up whats left of the bakers once again
@@Vicioussnakeboy the only thing they fear is Ethan
Bro this is a good idea for the next game
The fathers story is over.
I'm glad they fleshed Ethan out more in 8. He was kinda 'meh' in 7 but 8 made me really care about his character and struggles.
SO TRUE BECAUSE ETHAN AFTER NOT SEEING HIS WIFE FOR YEARS WAS LIKE “Is this a prank?”
tbh i couldn't remember his name until Village got out, he really was a meh in RE7
I felt he was too calm in re7 he felt a little more genuine in 8
idk for me ethan felt like a slightly odd average civilian whose wife went missing and he really is that average civilian in scary place except he is surprisingly good with guns in 7 (other than the fact he always drops the mag)
@@deluxo4424 Yeah he's weak, I can't really stand the game direction and big changes to the world. Would like to see less of Ethan and go back to the original character models and see more of hunk and third person
Fun fact: about Ethan hand, he lost 2 finger which left him with 8 finger and the game is RE8
I’ll say it now capcom is clearly genius
Funny thing is, there was a bit of his index finger remaining before him bandaging the palm. It even had a ring on it, I thought this will mean something, but then that finger bit just vanishes
Btw he couldn’t get his fingers back because the Lycan ATE them
That was a fun fact.
thumbs aren't considered fingers. so he really only had 6, which is bad, and also the worst RE game.
The ending of village literally broke my soul.. I finished it shortly after my daughter was born, literally beating it on fathers day and omg...IT WAS TOO MUCH. One of my favorite games ever..
Damn ! Congrats man !
Lol, you never realize how much having a kid changes u until it happens.
Now anytime i see a baby in danger in a movie or game i get way more stressed than i used to.
Congrats man, give my love to her
keep her safe, man. you dont wanna have your fingers cut off.
It and Dead Rising 4 are my 2 "Christmas time" annual replays at this point
Ethan's face characteristics makes him look so weak and so badass at the same time. Nice one Capcom
Cause it’s like, he’s just a guy lmao
Yeah he is just a civilian with NO combat training at all in Re7
i mean bro was just a family guy like jack and some random mold grandma comes
@@coltforceplayer there's no way a civilian with no combat training would know how to handle guns to the extend ethan does in re7
@@alexzaze1407 ok, your point is? The game came out 6 years ago my fact is set in stone
I was a really big fan of Ethan, I liked him as much as I like Leon and Chris and to see him get killed off after only 2 games was really sad.
Me too. So sad he is gone…

You can see how Ethan's regenerative abilities have developed more since RE7, because he is in severe pain when Jack cuts off his leg in RE7, but is seemingly unharmed when Lady Dimitrescu severs is hand in Village
Honestly, I feel like Ethan is somewhat used to the pain. Not just that, but Jack was toying with him, and he anticipated the dismemberment. So, naturally he processed the pain a lot easier.
In lady D’s case, he didn’t see it coming for even a second, so the shock and adrenaline probably kept him in check long enough to just go about his day.
Yeah like my guy got a lost hand, leg cut off, mouth Stabbed, impaled by Fire Axe, lost 2 fingers, lost hand again, Stabbed by Lady Ds claws on whatever, lost Hand again, lost heart like jesus
@@coltforce_playz2291 the leg cutting off by jack might've not happened, but that's not the point
@@sunnyd4ze Jack did cut his leg off and show him how to reattach it only time he lost a limb when he was 100% human was when Mia cut his hand off with the chainsaw which is why it was stitched on
@@roxasbakerJack cutting off Ethans leg is an optional scene, you can miss it entirely by either being effectient in getting the key to the crawlspace or hiding from Jack when he enters the crawlspace room
I understand why some people might not like Ethan but I personally find him pretty interesting. He is no Leon, Chris, Jill or Claire but he didn't need to be. What makes his character so interesting is that he is just a normal person, not a cop or a soldier and all he wants was to have a happy family. He doesn't want anything to do with bioweapons and Village just proved he would do anything to protect his family. The only thing I hate about his character is how Capcom was forcing to NOT show his face through the story. Why you gotta do his sacrifice like that? If he returns in RE9, then it would be the best opportunity to show his full likeness.
Agreed
@@ernestocastillo776 You do know that his body is made of mold and his grave doesn't have his body In It. So there is a chance he will come back like a NPC and not the main character we play as in Re9
i actually like the fact that they never showed his face. This makes him more mysterious
@@rambo2857 Yeah, but it was SO FORCED & AWKWARD.
What's the point of even putting mirrors in the game if you can't see Ethan?
Capcom did Ethan incredible justice in Village. Even though I actually still did quite like him in RE7, he still had a lot of shoes to fill as a protagonist in the Resident Evil world and he certainly did in Village. I was really saddened by his demise and I hope Rose will continue his legacy in the next instalment. I also cannot wait for upcoming DLC for Village. The franchise means the world to me and I trust in Capcom to continue in the successful path they've been taking since RE7 in 2017 and never repeat mistakes of the past (looking at you RE5/6 and Revelations).
dlc, someone decalcifies ethan and is forced to work for the umbrella corporation, or they will turn his daughter to a lab rat. to which he responds with fuck off and takes down the current head of umbrella.
Or maybe Mia. She has enough combat experience that she could be a decent survivor, and it'd be interesting to see how Ethan's fate affects her. Rose might be too powerful to be a playable character.
@@senorsnout4417 I think this is exactly it, Rose is supposedly more powerful than Eveline, so I don't think she'll be a playable character. Maybe we'll get Chris again, or perhaps a member of his team that appears in Village, maybe a rookie who wasn't there for the village incident?
Re5 and revelations wasnt bad, especially revelations the ooze where basically molded
Revelations 2 was fire what r u on abouth
I like the fact that they mention Military training and actually shows how Ethan uses it, like the fact that he doesn’t throw half empty clips/mags (whatever the hell They are) or him actually holding the knife like a soldier instead of holding it with two hands like he did in RE7
*magazine, get it right
@@Mason-zp8yb cry about it
Magazine. I know I know. Lol. Also it's a tactical reload. When it's empty it's called an emergency reload.
@@Mason-zp8ybgod you people annoying 🤦♂️
these are mags, not clips
Is he the first one who questioning "who build this (Puzzle)" in all RE Series?
Carlos from R3make did the same, but release wise it's Ethan if I not mistaken
yes. (Who builds this shit?) in re7
Ethan deserved better
Didn't think I'd cry during the end
Ethan's character definitely improved in 8. It is surprising that even before weapons training Ethan handled himself in 7.
They fucked the voice actor because they wanted him to have lack of expressions and less screams and words because of he was an introvert, molded and cgi Bullshit, they got the idea to give him glasses so he well in re8
well he's American
Americans are born with guns in their hands
The detail about the gun reload animation was surely a surprise for me. I love this level of detail even if I passes unnoticed for the most part.
Ethan is SO underrated, a lot of people don't like him but I think he's a really likeable, respectable, funny character. I mean he goes through the most shit just for his family
(alsoheshotokaybye)
He became my favorite re character. It was always Chris until Ethan came along.
the only reason they don't like him is because he's the new guy and not part of the shitty original games
No, now stop overusing that word
Haha sure is hot
In re7 during jack's boss fight after freeing mia and zoe, one of his dialogs says something along the lines of "you should have remained dead".
@Memescular search on youtube "Resident Evil 7 w/ Sabaku, Blind run #3" at 3:50:04 he says "Rimpiangerai il giorno in cui hai deciso di non restare morto" which translates to "You'll regret the day when you decided to not stay dead". Idk if it's a localization or what
@Memescular no problem, it's always fun to discuss these little things
Fact #1: Hes the king of one liners
@Dante2014 I miss Mr. Winters 😭
@Dante2014 I literally thought, WTH Capcom? That's all he could say after all the shit he's been through?
@@josephpajarillaga7517 I hope he comes back in re9, if its going to come
@@Chetoh nah but what I'm saying is that at the end of rosemary's scene when the players went in photo mode they saw Ethan. So I just said cus there's possibly a chance Ethan will come back if they are planning on releasing re9
@@Chetoh did you uh... play the game? Or even watch this video?
2:14 I always assumed this was because the fingers were eaten whole. By the monster, so he couldn't get them back to attach. Vs when he again loses his hand but that's still around to attach. That was always my assumption though. 😁
I always wondered why be didn't turn after the initial bite. The mold. Thats how. As we seen with the Church, or whatever that was a bite turns all survivors. Usually how it goes.
I think it’s because his left hand as still mostly human. That was the hand that was cut off, and it was cut off before he was infected, then reattached.
I was expecting the 2 fingers to have grown back because well.. he is a mold
I read a theory (on another video’s comments; sorry can’t credit :
Ethan didn’t regrow his fingers because he knew that whole Village needed the handicap.
In all seriousness, I like the idea that at some point in all of his games, Chris shows up so that the player can say “Oh thank god. Boulder puncher is here.”
I have never played that game yet but i have watched alot of videos on the RE games and when magneto said that i lost my shit for a second.
Ethan honestly deserves a "Father of The Year" award
I thought RE Village did a brilliant job tying in the events of RE7 and making you rethink everything you did as Ethan. They really gave a whole new meaning to “Welcome to the Family”
Resident Evil Village is a love letter to Resident Evil 7, and nobody can change my mind.
@@ignitedmergo FACTS
Ethan has become one of my top favorite characters mostly since he's a normal guy going through tough s**t! Its a nice change in the series and I hope they keep that idea. Chris is still my top favorite character but Ethan is a pretty interesting character, I wish people can see that instead of saying he's a boring and bland despite the stuff he gone through
I absolutely love Ethan and that fact that his face is always concealed adds to his character
i dont get why capcom keep obscuring ethans face even though we have already seen it.
In Re 7 at the end of the game when he has a flashback of being thrown through the wall by Mia, if the brightness is high you can sort of briefly see his face but it can still be a bit hard to see.
@@Joshi_the_Yoshi i tried going to that as fast as i could and could barely see his face
@Aidan McClement i mean this game is set in Europe but unless ethan winters has gone to Japan once since he was a mold
@Aidan McClement oh lol
So maybe thats why
i believe there are an possible answer for that
immersion: it was clear from the start that ethan in RE7 was essentially like a gordon freeman character. given the fact he barely speaks so hiding his face would be a priorty in order of immersion for the playas and this carried over to RE8 despite the fact ethan is more line with DS2/3 issac clarke than gordon freeman
Ethan is one of my favourite characters after playing village
Ethan and Wesker ain’t the only blonde RE males, what about Will Birkin
Well he died too
Ashford family were blonde as well
Maybe they actually dyed their hair.
@@HiBuddyyyyyy i feel like birkin had black hair roots so maybe that tracks.
What about leon
Fun Fact: in Resident Evil 5, in chapter 6-2 you can find a file with a list of names including Ethan W. and he is deceased. I don't know if it's Ethan Winters but i consider it a funny coincidence.
Random fact. The Japanese version is censored so Ethan keeps all his digits for the game
I remember Japan accosiating missing fingers with the Yakuza gang. They forced Bart Simpson to be depicted with 5 fingers in a game too.
I still don't understand why Japan is so obsessed with censorship, a ton of western media like games and movies barely make it to JP and when it does it's heavily cut or edited.
@@tygg2974 goes back to ww2, america forced japan to censor all there stuff, it just stuck around
I think Ethan has got to be one of the most wholesome characters in the entire franchise. Only in two games, and both times he’s all about his family.
In 7 he tries to save his wife throughout the whole game (and does if you choose Mia lol)
And in 8 he’s trying his hardest to save Rose.
Meanwhile Chris is punching boulders, Leon is throwing one liners and massacring villages etc.
@Memescular Yeah but the only reason he came there is to save his wife lol
main difference being ethan is a civilian caught up in bullshits while chris and leon are here for work
Ethan massacred a village too lmao
Resident Evil 9 opens with the discovery that Albert Wesker is still alive and later on Chris, Leon, and Jill all discuss this recent revelation and then Ethan pops in and asks "who the hell is Albert Wesker"
Fact 26:
Ethan was chosen by Chris as a substitute for Leon to continue the Redfield Bloodline with Claire since Leon is simping so hard with Aida.
I don't get why people make these jokes considering the fact that Ethan is married and has a daughter. BTW, I am not trying to argue with anyone and say that people should stop, because its their opinon, but I just find these jokes so weird.

R.I.P
Ethan Winters
You will be remembered
For good dad and for the
Badass protagonist just
Like chrish and Leon
In whole RE series....
3:58 I found it stupid that if you inject Zoe the cure doesn't work and Eveline basically paralyses her. Choosing the girl who tried to help him cure himself as well as trying to cure herself and her family would have made more sense than choosing the wife who lied to him, worked for the bioweapon company that created Eveline to start with and it was Mia and her coworker Alan transporting Eveline on that ship that led to 7's events to begin with.
The Cure removed the mind control aspect but she still has physical command of the mold. Think lucas.
I don't get how people will choose a stranger over their wife... Sure she helped you, but like the reason why he was there was to save Mia. It wouldn't make sense if he picks someone else. Just beats the purpose of him going there to save Mia.
@@ZaiKechi but hot tomboy lady tho :(...
@@SaladKnife. Mia is the most attractive woman in the RE series. Fight Me.
Yay!! I was hoping for this one.
After Lady D cuts off Ethan's hand and you pick it up, if you examine the model you can actually see blotches of the mold in his fleshy bits
Ethan is the best RE protagonist of all times, hes not a police officer, hes not a special agent. Hes just a guy who was in the wrong place at the wrong time and wants to save his family.
In 7, after Jack welcoming Ethan in the family, Zoe actually told Ethan "don't die on us, we have work to do" and in a phone call she told him to shut up and listen if he wants to stay "alive", I find it difficult to understand....
I dont know why but for some reason I thought Ethan being special was going to be related to wesker and those clones. Like somehow Ethan was a wesker clone or something.
That would've been so cool! It would've explained why they hid his face too. At the end of village, they could've revealed Ethan's face to show he looks just like Wesker
I hope they stop bringing everything back to Wesker,Spencer,Umbrella, and Raccoon City. Just makes things more convoluted. Hated how they connected Miranda to Spencer.
@@mtb5431 I wish they would too, because 7 and 8 are not Resident Evil games. But if they didn't make up some flimsy connection, they couldn't profit from slapping the RE name on it
@Melissa Zietz well said. All Capcom does is ruin the impact of all those past events. Umbrella was so much more terrifying when it was just a shadowy corporation that had zero regard for human life and only cared about profiting from B.O.W. research. Hate how it went from that to just turning out to be a means for Spencer to achieve godhood. Also a huge letdown how we never got a proper conclusion to Umbrella’s fall. That should’ve been the plot of an entire game.
@@mtb5431 Yeah they keep retconning established lore and it just gets to be a convoluted mess. They should leave established lore alone at this point. I don't mind that Spencer had his pet eugenics project that was separate from the B.O.W. projects, but they wasted so much potential with both Wesker and Spencer. Spencer's the main founder, the one who started everything, and he gets five minutes of screen time and then dies? And turning Wesker into a cheap Bond villain was so lame and such a waste of his potential. And Umbrella was basically taken down completely off screen, another waste of potential. And they just ditch all their old characters except Chris and leave a bunch of loose ends there. But as long as they're making money, they don't care about much else.
Ethan is one of the best examples of how to do the "the character has been dead the whole time" trope. Cause everything you've done up until that point still matters, it wasn't all just in his head or whatever
The events of Village take place over a short period of time, about a single day, and when you consider Ethan's fingers were obstructed by the cloth he put on it makes sense why they don't grow back.
I actually hope the next RE game will be a reunion of the daughter and her dad
Your pinky being so important is something I learned from a Yakuza documentary. The reason you have to cut off your pinky if you fuck up is because that makes it far more difficult to hold a weapon, particularly a sword. The idea is to make you have to rely on the rest of the group more for safety, hopefully leading you to be more mindful of following the rules and doing your job.
Yay! You finally did Ethan! He became one of my favorites from the franchise :)
YESSSSSSSSSSSS I've been waiting for this!!!
Maybe one for Mia or Rose as well?
Probably gonna need to wait for another game about Rose so there’s enough to talk about, but Mia is a possibility.
Ethan's hands: * exist *
RE7&8: peace was never an option
I think the biggest thing is Ethan's "death" was an unnecessary retcon from 8. He was simply infected in 7 and that's all they needed to stay with. "Welcome to the family, son" is just that: welcoming to the family. Like Eveline wanted. Jack says more than once throughout the game that he will kill Ethan, and Eveline says she will make him one of them as well. Just goes against "he actually died." They could have at least said he died on the boat rather than saying the beginning of the game.
Also, the mold definitely reached his brain in 7 because he hallucinates about mid game and I would say he's actually already infected before Mia ends up chopping him up. It just didn't take effect yet, or it did with the lack of blood loss from his arm. He pretty much got infected when he stepped in the house.
your right he was infected once he got to the house also the stomp to the head don't forget jack is super strong the stomp caused him to go brain dead which means he did die
Maybe Jack didn't know he was dead. And also Eveline could have meant it as one that she can control and love her.
@@fidelgarcia2224 I'm assuming Jack prolly just thought he knocked him unconscious, forgetting his own strength.
Players playing as Ethan Winters
RE7 Ethan: "Why are we playing a faceless uninteresting character?"
RE8 Ethan: "He's a caring heroic father and husband."
tbh, I kinda liked the faceless character thing, its kinda part of its charm.
I would actually love to see 25 facts about James Sunderland silent Hill 2
Now that i think about it Ethan and James clothes are very similar too
Ethan cant regenerate external body parts only internal ones like his heart that's why his finger didn't grow back he has to attach the lost body part himself for it to be fixed

How about 25 facts on Neo Umbrella or the BSAA?
you missed one : he's an absolute GigaChad
I live for RE8, it’s literally just a combination of 4 and 7; both of which I absolutely love.
I played village the other day and the end made me cry a bit. My mum then said ‘you are crying over mushrooms’ to me.
0:39 if Ethan Winters worked in Los Angeles
then he literally left Los Santos.
I assumed that Ethan wasn’t fully infected with the mold so he possessed the ability of healing and limb reattachments but not the regenerative ability of growing new limbs to replace dismembered parts
Ethan became one of my favorite Resident Evil characters. Thank you for the facts about him :)
Ethan has taken military training after the events of Resident Evil 7, which is why he holds on to the magazine he swaps for another one when you reload a handgun in Resident Evil Village rather than getting rid of it if the gun isn't empty completely.
6:52 another fact, ethan reaches for hot soup with his bare hand. What was he planning on doing??? Scooping it with his hand??
He's Ethan friggin winters, if he wants to bare hand boiling hot soup then fuck it, let him I say.
Just like fuck it yeet
My friend suggested he could be dipping a finger in to taste it but … hes reaching for that soup alright
So, I've recently rewatched heavy rain gameplay and accidentally stumbled upon the fact that the first main character you play as, Ethan Mars, wears the same clothes as Ethan Winters: a black hoodie, denim jeans and beige/brown coat. Plus, their names are the same too cause they're both named Ethan (obviously). Then I realized more similarities: in heavy rain Ethan's main goal is to find and save his son, same as Ethan Winters who has to find and save his daughter. Then, I realized once again, whereas Winters loses his left pinky and ring fingers, Mars loses his left pinky as well during gameplay. From their similar names, outfits, missing limbs and their final missions to save their children, I refuse to believe these are all just coincidences, but maybe they r and am just looking too into it.. okay that's it.
i didnt play 7
but capcom made me fell in love with Ethan in 8
I straight up cried at the end of this game. I already knew it was going to happen because of spoilers. But it hit so darn hard. Finding out that he’s been a mold zombie since re7 didn’t surprise me. The re-attaching of body parts was a little too over the top. Even with people just assuming it was game logic. I knew he had to be infected. Just didn’t know he was straight up gone since the beginning. The mold just cataloged his consciousness and essentially made a copy of him within his own body. Almost like it wasn’t really even him anymore, but the mold just simply imitating a memory of him? But since the mold actually just absorbs the consciousness of others. It could also be said that the mold absorbed his consciousness and rebuilt his body to the point where he could still use and exist within it. He basically became mold but was still able to use his body since it was still in pretty good shape. Despite being unalived.
1:17, This would also explain why his body goes into shock along with the change of color
The reason Ethan doesn't get damaged it's because he's Resident Evil's cameraman
I want to see Ethan in the saw movies from how much pain he endured
I love these facts about characters videos, keep it up man! Much love
in re5 you can find a document, i don't exactly remember where though ,which has Ethan W written on it , i don't know if it has got anything to do with this ethan
Yes, it's in Spencer's notebook on the last page with names of those who had access to company secrets
@Dan The Onion Lad Agreed. But still a funny coincidence haha
Capcom confirmed it was just a huge coincidence :P
I really really really hope we get to see him again in future resident evil games
*The only character in each game who loses a hand*
I loved the fact that they changed Ethans animations because Chris gave him military combat training.
Ethans hand went through it all bro 💀💀💀
The situations that Ethan and James find themselves in maybe similar, but their personality's are very different.
Another instance of Ethan Winter's training is when he falls into the water at Heseignbergs. You'll notice he crosses his arms before hitting the water. This is a survival technique used to protect your limbs
I do think that Ethan not recognizing Mia as Miranda was probably explained in Chris' notes towards the end. I believe it was something along the lines of "Miranda probably thought it would be easier to control Rose if she looked more like Mia since they were mother and daughter"?
If that's the case that probably would explain why Miranda didn't escape with Rose when she had all those opportunities because she wanted to bond more with her so that controlling her would be easier.
Isn't it weird that in Outlast, Trager cuts off Miles' right index finger and his left ring finger... yet those are the least important fingers to grip things! 🤔 (Trager didn't know that for sure)
Yeah Ada Wong had been in RE 2, 4, and 6, I definitely expected her to be in 8. Wasted opportunity.
I think the reason why Ethan's fingers didn't regrow is because the bandages are getting in the way, not giving any space for cells to grow. The reason is that ethan was able to walk some hours after miranda ripped out his heart. His heart most likely regenerated within that time.
Who knows, Ada could be in a DLC wandering around the village to steal some piece of the Megamycete and fortunately she stumble upon Ethan confronting Mother Miranda for the last time with the bomb, Ethan actually did not push the bomb instead it's Ada since he was so weak and to also let the evidence of her being in there be buried so she let the place be blown. Ada's a spy so technically she might even encounter Ethan through out the campaign so she might have an idea who he was.
from a game perspective, that could work, but more importantly from a writing perspective, I feel that would take away from Ethan's sacrifice, and that would just be terrible IMO.
4:18 “WITTINESS PROTECTION FOR WHAT?!”
1:28 i never thought or realised that, but that is smart on the devs part.
great video as usual man! you and avalanche reviews are my favorite resident evil content creators!
6:30 Ethan's sexual performance was so good that Miranda was content on just staying with him until she got bored
I think Ethan has been disquised deliberately from the very first planning of RE7, I think he's Wesker on some level. I think he's a Wesker child or a Wesker clone. He was superhuman before stepping on the Baker property.
Man I love your videos, would you cover Silent Hill characters in the future?
I will NEVER forget the moment in RE 7 when Mia chainsaws his hand off, just to have it STAPLED on in the next scene. I remember thinking "We're not in Raccoon City anymore".
Imagine how insanely loved the game would be if they added Ada? And she mentions him in further games and things feel more connected (I know chris is there but I want more characters to know Ethan)
I mean sure, on a surface-level Ethan does share those similarities with James from Silent Hill 2. But I always like to compare Ethan more to Harry from SH1, what with both being fighting dads hellbent on saving their daughters who have gone missing in a town/village ruled by some kind of cult. And both end up losing their lives down the road as a result of their actions.
Ethan never lost his grip even after losing his fingers because mold has given ethan superhuman strength
Prove:
In Re7 Ethan's leg was cut and then reattached even after reattaching his leg was obviously injured still he was able run and he was also able to defend attacks effectively even after getting his hands cut and then reattached
Yeah makes sense, especially how you can block and push n kick enemies away
Nice video bro 👌 well explained, so many twists
Ethan probably has the biggest set of balls in the RE franchise. No military training. No police training. Hell hadn’t even shot a gun before 7. Yet he stands face to face with these monsters on two separate occasions and pushes on to save his wife, his daughter, and countless others by stopping the megamycete from spreading. This is what makes me respect and love Ethan as a character. (Also the fact that 7 and 8 were a blast to play).
Ethan’s story is so tragic. I almost cried for him at the end of Village. Mia is at fault for her family’s suffering.
I feel like not many people touch on how Mia's lies cause so much trouble.
I agree. Mia should have been arrested.
I always thought the regenerative abilities were down to the first aids you get. I mean, everytime he loses his limbs in any situation, you're given a first aid either out of gameplay necessity or a cutscene.
In RE7, you can see Ethan throws away the magazine albeit being empty but in RE8 he saves the magazine (Which is called a Tactical Reload). It's due to Ethan going through military training from Chris after the RE7 incident.
Yaaaaaaaaaay new video!!! Hope you're feeling better
