    Very helpful, thanks. How do I do this if I only want a few knife pleats, not pleats all around? It seems like I can adapt this by knowing how many pleats I want then multiply that by 3 (for 3" for each pleat). So if the waist is 30" and I want 6 pleats each 1" wide the math would be be 30" + (6 pleats * 3" for each pleat) = 48" of fabric. Of course the multiplier depends on the type of pleat.

  • @serenamarie3936
    @serenamarie3936 Месяц назад +1

    I don’t know if you’ll ever see this.. but what should I do if a client’s waist is 48”? Meaning 48 x 3 for the pleats. Which will be about 144 in all. Yet the width of the fabric I’m cutting on is 60”.

    • @SewUnique_ng
      @SewUnique_ng  Месяц назад +1

      Hi…. That’s more likely the fabric length. The fabric width is in yards or metres.
      Your options are get another fabric where you have more yards or don’t go for pleats, it won’t show based off that measurement ❤️

    Thank you ma for the tutorial. My problem is the the division. When you use width 5 . Does it mean that , for 123 . For 1 you have 1.5, for 2 , 1.5 and for 3 you have 2.. To make it total of 5 width. thanks in anticipation.

    • @SewUnique_ng
      @SewUnique_ng  3 года назад

      Hello! When you’ve decided on a 5” pleat width, just do 5 divided by 3 and each section will be 1.7 approximately
      So 1.6,1.7,1.7 and then pleat accordingly
      I hope this helps ❤️
