S1- so you've been together 6 months and are engaged already? I don't buy that timeline, especially when you say y'all started dating "months" after the split. Melissa didn't lie or twist anything; she IS the victim and you ARE the villain. The rest of the family sees it, and you refuse to. But she's right about everything she said- you are a backstabbing traitor, and you are clearly the favorite and golden child. I'm glad Melissa is finally cutting all of you out because you, David, and your parents are toxic and terrible. It's obvious they have ignored her and her feelings for years. They clearly favored you and your selfishness. Just reading this is gross and exhausting and makes me angry....I can only imagine how much more insufferable you are in real life. Eventually real life will slap you in the face, and I'm sure plenty of people are gonna Love to see it. S2- my heart hurts for OP. I completely understand why she's hurt; they were condescending and rude for no reason at all and ruined the gift for everyone. They sound gross, and OP and her husband need to really figure out their future plans.
S1 idc what anyone says that’s a low blow to date any ex of a sibling or A friend idc how long ago the break up was you don’t backstab anyone like that What op did was unforgivable and the fact the parents are supporting her and David? Smh id go NC with the whole family if I was the sister
Story 1: Op is weirdo like why would you want to be in a relationship with your sister ex That is so weird then you're shocked that she's mad I think most people would be discussing and mad at there siblings for being with their ex's
Story 1: There's a few "rules" when going for a partner: Don't date someone who looks like a relative, has a name same/similar to a relative, and don't date someone who was an ex of a relative. There's definitely more, but i can't think of any else.
David and OP deserve each other. I love all the people here saying they’d be Ok with their sister dating their ex. They’re better people than me. It’s darling that OP and David are busy defending themselves on Reddit together. So cute
Sooooo they did nothing wrong and don't care about sister, but want her to be in their lifes, why? They don'l like her, don't respect her, what is tje end goal here?
David ultimately knew OP and her parents would dismiss Melissa’s feelings in a heartbeat. As for David’s nonsense statement about him not owing Melissa an explanation regarding dating her sister, I call bs. You were dating her sister ffs! Not some random person she didn’t know.
This is undoubtedly a complex situation that involves deep emotions and challenging dynamics. While everyone deserves happiness, it’s important to approach such situations with empathy and respect for all parties involved. Open and honest communication is crucial in navigating sensitive relationships like this. I hope everyone involved finds peace and understanding as they work through this together
"I'm not going to apologize for who I love" "I'm not going to apologize for who I love" THEN SHUT UP ALREADY WE GET IT YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR SISTER FEELING!!
I don't care that op and David are dating, they had to know that this was just going to end up in a hot mess. And this ia why you don't date your friends/family ex because of the drama its creat and not some stupid bro / girl code nonsense.
1.- Maybe I've just heard too many of these, but "took risks", "[Parents] always supported me" and "stayed close to home" all say to me: "I'm the screw-up coddled my mommy and daddy". I skipped the dude's part altogether, he doesn't matter, not really; he's just the straw that broke the camel's back.
S1: I’m sorry, I can’t date someone that my sister dated. Especially if I KNEW they had sex. That’s just fucking disgusting! I’m with Melissa on this one.
For me the weird one is the boyfriend (also the op), ending in bad terms with one of the sisters , after not going out only a week or a month, but 5 F***** YEARS, not fixing it in any way ,going for it less than a year after that and going for the other sister is weird , also the parents are idiots and do favorites
Story 1 - I think we all know how this would be if Melissa dated OP's ex. Also love how the OP's ex does not want to bash Melissa, but goes on and on about how she's so controlling.
Story 1: The only detail of the story that was making me slightly waiver on whether OP was an absolute AH was that it was a mutual breakup. Then boyfriend swoops and reveals OP is a liar and her sister didn't want to break up at all and it was all boyfriend's idea. And a few months later he starts dating the sister... but it toooootally "just happened" and they deeeefinitely didn't have feelings for each other before. Yeah, if you believe that I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.
Story 1: I really want to hear the sister's side. Something feels off with how everyone is reacting and with how David is going to family parties but Melissa is not.
So, a selfish golden child is finally getting consequences and she's having a meltdown, as people are now seeing her for what she is. Additionally, this has also shown their parents' unfair treatment publicly. And, yeah, David did not write that. The writing style is the same as Jess'.
Story 1: It's clearly not just David, David was the straw that broke the camel's back. Her sister specifically called OP the Golden Child, and the parents didn't hesitate to side with OP, they didn't even consider how Melissa might feel. Also the math not mathing....
No judgement until I hear Melissa’s side. Also why the hell was the ex part of the family after the break up. That’s just weird and wrong from all dimensions
Story one: Soon he'll move on and try to romance the mother. lol I believe there's a reddit post from the sister's side of things and she points out the golden girl always wanted what she had. She even pursued her sister's ex before they broke up. And yes the parents are horrible people. I believe she's in a relationship now and she keeps him away from her family just in case her sister tries to make a move on him too.
1) Honestly i cant decided, on one hand you mentioned how you were never close to your sister's ex and only after reconnecting (after a period of time has passed) is when she started to date him, also she does seem to be jealous about it since OP seems to be better than her and this fuelled her complex about always being second to her, but then again they broke up due to wanting different things in life (which means if they weren't compatible and she knew it, why be mad angry) since they wanted different things in life. while on the other, YTA since the parent should really consider how Melissa would react to this, to see your sibling who was always better than you in everything and who was the golden child, be happy with your ex then think it was a good idea to bring them to a family gathering on a holiday, is horrible, either way i think its for the best that melissa cut contact with them i doubt anything good would come out of this relationship 2)Though matter, also he needs to understand that you had it rough, living on the threat of poverty, with little to no money and constantly stressed over it, considering he always had money in his back pocket, even when he was "roughing" it, he needs to stand up for you more, you say that he is supportive and cares about you and how he doesnt let his parent, nag on everything you do, but then said that he acts like this when he's with family, but im glad that he finally come around and care also he still needs to be aware of his actions since he knows your lifestyle before you got together
Okay as someone who did have a crush on my sisters ex (never acted on it and they dated in middle school) OP in story one take some accountability and understand that what you did was wrong. You need to know that what you did was wrong
I don't care why the sister in the ex-boyfriend broke up I don't care if it was a mutual decision a mutual condescending I really don't care the point is you do not f*** with your family's friends access significant others husbands Beyonce's you just don't do it There are just certain lines you just do not cross and Opie cross that line but honestly I believe that she did it on purpose she wanted the guy so she went after the guy there is no oh it just happened bulshit I don't want to hear that I never understood why people kept using that as an excuse you don't just fall and f****** love with the person that you're family member was with If that's the case and you're in agreement on this then any of your friends or family members can fall for your significant other answers whatever and y'all should not be complaining
Story 1: Fake story cause :- 1. In the beginning, OP claimed that David said the breakup with Melissa was mutual but in David's POV, he says Melissa said the breakup was mutual. 2. David and Op both claim that Melissa wanted to stay in home town and not explore the world. But from everything, OP says that she lived closer to family while Melissa stayed away from them. Also both OP and David want to explore the world but from everything they seem to be the one stuck in hometown (David and OP regularly attend the parents' parties) while Melissa visited sporadically. Extra proof being that they were long distance, obviously it was Melissa who lived out of town. 3. They didn't live together according to OP, but David said he felt like Melissa and he were like roommates. So, how is that possible if they don't live together. Basically, there are many inconsistencies. This sounds like Rage-bait
Yeah and the fact the whole family sided with op. I’m sure you won’t find any family like that on Reddit who supports cheating behind your sisters back
“They broke up two years ago” also her “we started seeing each other a few months after the breakup” ok.
she literally couldn’t keep her story straight about the timeline so it just screams that they got together right after

She's not getting it from strangers like she hoped, and now friends and family are slowly pulling back from her and her parents.
She's facing consequences for the first time and she doesn't like it, lol.
Story 1:
Op is weirdo like why would you want to be in a relationship with your sister ex That is so weird then you're shocked that she's mad I think most people would be discussing and mad at there siblings for being with their ex's
Story one: the fact the vast majority of the family is taking Melissa’s side is very telling. OP, David and their parents are creeps.
14:33 Story 1: I keep wondering why David was invited to Jess’ parents’ holiday party.
Story 1: There's a few "rules" when going for a partner: Don't date someone who looks like a relative, has a name same/similar to a relative, and don't date someone who was an ex of a relative. There's definitely more, but i can't think of any else.
Why should there be rules? That's like saying your children should look like you or they're not yours.
Okay the first two rules are dumb as hell , like tf you mean Don't date someone with a similar name
The bro code and the girl code. Just don't date your friend's Exs in general
David and OP deserve each other. I love all the people here saying they’d be Ok with their sister dating their ex. They’re better people than me. It’s darling that OP and David are busy defending themselves on Reddit together. So cute
I call bs David and Jes where fooling around already.
It’s absolutely disgusting that you’d be with someone who was with your siblings. Feels like inc3st with extra steps. Hella gross.
as a musician, playing for the past 25 years... the worst gift you could give to a musician/aspiring musician is a musical instrument
Story 1. I would really like to know why he was invited to the parents parties even after he had broke their daughter's heart
Oh cuz he didn't break the heart of the daughter they actually love
This is undoubtedly a complex situation that involves deep emotions and challenging dynamics. While everyone deserves happiness, it’s important to approach such situations with empathy and respect for all parties involved. Open and honest communication is crucial in navigating sensitive relationships like this. I hope everyone involved finds peace and understanding as they work through this together
"I'm not going to apologize for who I love"
"I'm not going to apologize for who I love"
THEN SHUT UP ALREADY WE GET IT YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR SISTER FEELING!!
"Weve always had a complicated relationship" bish please you *love* you're the favorite
S1: you can act on your feelings while Melissa cannot?
Anyone else hoping that David cheats on OP?
If this is real OP and the parents sound like awful people
For me the weird one is the boyfriend (also the op), ending in bad terms with one of the sisters , after not going out only a week or a month, but 5 F***** YEARS, not fixing it in any way ,going for it less than a year after that and going for the other sister is weird , also the parents are idiots and do favorites
It doesn't make sense to date someone your siblings or friends had a long term relationship with. Theres so much people in the world.
Story 1 - I think we all know how this would be if Melissa dated OP's ex.
Also love how the OP's ex does not want to bash Melissa, but goes on and on about how she's so controlling.
I would cut ties too snd probably be better off for it. 😂😂😂
GOLDEN CHILD 👏👏-👏👏👏
GOLDEN CHILD 👏👏-👏👏👏
Poor Melissa I hope she’s doing better now
Story 1 is pretty much why introverts dislike extroverts.
So Melissa distanced herself but stay close to home. A home built on another's tears will never prosper
1st story was delightful. So much salt. So delicious.
Yeah, if you believe that I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.
it’s pretty clear the parents are obsessed with david and that’s why they wanted him around
“where does her loyalty to me come in to play” well is she dating your ex from a serious relationship??
Story 1: I really want to hear the sister's side. Something feels off with how everyone is reacting and with how David is going to family parties but Melissa is not.
The timeline is very suspect. Wouldn’t be surprised if there was cheating as well
Ew.. I would never date my sister's ex.. wtf is wrong with them??
Story 1 prediction: Jess and David are going to be broke and living with enablers because of their 'free spirited' nature
Story 1 they are cheaters who love drama
Melissa being the jealous ex is justified because the new girlfriend is her sister
Melissa is better off without her awful family, good for her.
No judgement until I hear Melissa’s side. Also why the hell was the ex part of the family after the break up. That’s just weird and wrong from all dimensions
Op stole her sister’s man.
Story one: Soon he'll move on and try to romance the mother. lol
I believe there's a reddit post from the sister's side of things and she points out the golden girl always wanted what she had. She even pursued her sister's ex before they broke up. And yes the parents are horrible people. I believe she's in a relationship now and she keeps him away from her family just in case her sister tries to make a move on him too.
Bro code, you dont date an ex of a friend or family.
Why do I feel that there’s more to this
Some cultures are so gross. You don't date a siblings ex.
1) Honestly i cant decided, on one hand you mentioned how you were never close to your sister's ex and only after reconnecting (after a period of time has passed) is when she started to date him, also she does seem to be jealous about it since OP seems to be better than her and this fuelled her complex about always being second to her, but then again they broke up due to wanting different things in life (which means if they weren't compatible and she knew it, why be mad angry) since they wanted different things in life. while on the other, YTA since the parent should really consider how Melissa would react to this, to see your sibling who was always better than you in everything and who was the golden child, be happy with your ex then think it was a good idea to bring them to a family gathering on a holiday, is horrible, either way i think its for the best that melissa cut contact with them i doubt anything good would come out of this relationship
2)Though matter, also he needs to understand that you had it rough, living on the threat of poverty, with little to no money and constantly stressed over it, considering he always had money in his back pocket, even when he was "roughing" it, he needs to stand up for you more, you say that he is supportive and cares about you and how he doesnt let his parent, nag on everything you do, but then said that he acts like this when he's with family, but im glad that he finally come around and care also he still needs to be aware of his actions since he knows your lifestyle before you got together
jesus i’m stupid but not this stupid
OP 1 is trash.
Okay as someone who did have a crush on my sisters ex (never acted on it and they dated in middle school) OP in story one take some accountability and understand that what you did was wrong. You need to know that what you did was wrong
i hope melissa finds peace and happiness cause man does her family suck
I'm so glad the Minecraft vids are back
Why would u date or have sex with someone who had sex woth ur sister gross
I don't care why the sister in the ex-boyfriend broke up I don't care if it was a mutual decision a mutual condescending I really don't care the point is you do not f*** with your family's friends access significant others husbands Beyonce's you just don't do it
There are just certain lines you just do not cross and Opie cross that line but honestly I believe that she did it on purpose she wanted the guy so she went after the guy there is no oh it just happened bulshit I don't want to hear that I never understood why people kept using that as an excuse you don't just fall and f****** love with the person that you're family member was with
If that's the case and you're in agreement on this then any of your friends or family members can fall for your significant other answers whatever and y'all should not be complaining
Story 1: Fake story cause :-
