FOR HOW LONG WILL OUR SOLDIERS DYE OUTSIDE OF OUR BORDERS WHOM ARE THEY PROTECTING OR WHOSE WEALTH IS BEEN PROTECTED, SOMETHING NOT ADDING UP,WHILE IN OUR BACK YARD WE FEEL NOT SAFE😮
The main purpose of having a military is to help resolve conflicts wherever they exist. The United States has military bases in every continent let's stop being naive .
Thanks 🙏🏿 my brothers for helping DRC I'm south African I support people of Congo we love you siyabonga magorha wethu akwehlanga lingehlanga nifele izizukulwana zethu bambanani ma africa
Very true, I'm also heartbroken, for how long should our soldiers die in foreign countries.....these soldiers belong to families.....true, we want to know why are they in those countries, they've been killed years back??? Why are they not withdrawn?????
South Africa is doing it duty as an African country, for once africa should rise and help itself rather than seeking European and US to keep peace. Unfortunately, in every war, there are casualties, and in that we will learn how to better equip and support our troops effectively. I support this mission for the sake of peace in Africa.
Except it's not for peace. It's for mining interests, and the 'duty' you refer to is military power to help some rich politically connected individual or corporation extract mineral weath and move it somewhere, probably where Africans will not benefit, except for a few of the political class. And it's the defense force, not the foreign affairs let's screw up and divide Africa to feed some greedy crooked cadres selling to the West, or China. We pay for them - for what? - to die in some foreign country to make some greedy folk even richer.
You must be crazy helping politicians to get rich with our lives . Our brothers have to come back home we don't want to get involved in that selfish rubbish
Have you ever thought that you send them in church???? In war, is mandatory for soldiers to die. If you don't want them to die, you would have not send them in DRC conflict
It’s hard to see how the SANDF can do anything effective when it is so poorly trained, equipped, led and beset by corruption. Its soldiers are also rather ‘old’ and behave more like public servants like bus drivers, rather than as military personnel.
SANDF should seriously look into its capacity and capability in these missions, in Mozambique SANDF & Frelimo could not defeat ISIS affiliated terror groups until Rwandan soldiers were deployed. Upon arrival of Rwandan soldiers the terror groups were pushed back up north otherwise they would have run Maputo over. Leadership of SANDF needs to be assessed and evaluated , SA cannot afford to continue losing soldiers at this rate.
Send Ramaphosa and Angie to be in da front akugolozeki yini Noma ukuthanda imali abayeke ukuba amaqhawe kufuneka kufe abangani ngempela. Wayeqinisile u Malema ukuthi abangayi kwe.nzekalani manje
Can those countries that were supported by SANDF plz come and help us deal with ilegal immigration. Our SA blood was lost unnecessarily in those nations, fighting what's not our fight😢😢
Does anyone think that South African companies can do away with the benefits from minerals in DRC, this is about Minerals in DRC and it started when Nelson Mandela was president. Perhaps people can now understand why the arms deal was initiated.
In the 1st place why are our soldiers in CONGO? If Angie Motshekga is minister of defence NO ACCOUNTABILITY South Africa will ever receive. Those soldiers are there for RAMAPHOSA INTEREST.
Its your war on terror,in 2014 Paul Kagame killed Patrick Karegeya in S.A Faustin Nyamwasa was shot and wounded in Johannesburg in 2010. Seif Bamporiki Killed in Cape Town Samuel Habimana killed in Zimbabwe in 2024 Théogène Turatsinze killed in Mozambique in 2021 Seth Sendashonga and Siragi Rubayita killed in Kenya Noel Halimana killed in Malawi
Our soldiers must be able to conquer Africa, otherwise any country can over through the government ,if we keep losing soldiers to other countries that means we are not good in guerilla war.
Chairperson of SCOPA (Standing Committee on Public Accounts). I want to know why my money is paying for our soldiers to die in DRC. Whose interests are they dying for?
@HarmonicRezolution Only Small and Inferior countries practice nationalism, powerful countries play politics through countries, if you want SADAC region threatened with terrorists, foreign military basis, and economic instability just as we see in West Africa and North Africa follow what these clueless people like Zibi say. US, China and Russia don't have their soldiers all over the world for nothing, and by the way they all claim to be nationalist yet never withdraw their forces abroad. A nation state has to protect itself by exerting force outside it's neighbouring countries and trading partners
Politicians like these are naive . South Africa does have a responsibility to ensure regional stability within the African continent as a member of both the African Union and SADC . Songezo Zibi is being both disingenuous and dishonest in his analysis.
Defense force - not soldiers for hire by politically connected individuals or corporations. And what exactly is happening there - why don't we (the public paying for the defense force through our tax) know anything about this 'conflict'.
Take your soldiers your home matter of congo is going solve with Congolese Mr president of congo he know how he can done that conflict let the government of Congo stop killing tutsi tribes the matter would be done leave alone.

Angie Motshega is one of SA Underperforming Minister yet holding such an important Portfolio...That is what strikes me the most!!!
That portfolio must be given to Holomisa ,Angie must retire.

@@motsumijacobnhlapo614You are naive. We are not warmongers, like the Americans are. Why is America your standard?
This mission of father's and mothers, sons and daughters in DRC are their to serve the interest of some individual. This is really tragedy.
You so right, especially when they're so desperately needed here
Where is Angie?????/ she is missing in action

Wasteful expenditure
There’s no army in this banana republic

SA army is at weakest and deployed to die in a most dangerous country. Condolences to the families

This is what in Zimbabwe, sending soldiers to DRC to die. Many soldiers died.

What are they doing there on the first place ?
DRC is rich enough to pay South African soldiers HANDSOMELY.

So where does illegal immigration come in

When our soldiers go to war, they are in practicals,we need an army which is experienced in real war

But then why did the Congolese soldiers run away and leave our soldires to fend for themselves and had to band with Malawi and Tanzanian soldires?
Why is this nobody given screentime?

Those soldiers have been there for more than 10 years and they are making a lot of money. Politicians always???
Our ground soldiers needs air support right now
E DONT HAVE ANY
The rabels of today are not the rabels sadc fought in 2012. M23 rabels now have anti aircraft system. So, air support might not work this time
Unfortunately ANC destroyed our airforce due to corruption and putting drain less people in charge
That is what they are employed for?
Defense force (for defense of South African citizens) - not fighting the battles of rich politically connected people in foreign countries.
What a stupid comment from an ignorant creature
