Why are people so angry about this bill that has gone through Paliarnment. These arguments should have been done in paliarnment. The president is just to rubber stamp it. This is not Rama's bill.
Because the ANC did this behind everyones backs. The other parties part of the GNU did not know about this being signed, this is the problem. And also that the government can now take anyones property without compensation. Property does not only mean land. Example, my bicycle is my property, this can now be taken from me and given to someone else who the government (ANC) thinks should have it.

You do understand that the ANC government already took 17 million hectare of land and has never given it to anyone. Only to the ANC politicians right? The ANC government is no ones friend in South Africa. What's worse is that property is included in this act meaning the government can take what ever they want and it will not be given to the people. Just like Zimbabwe it will be given to corrupt politicians. The first thing that will happen is mass unemployment like we have never seen when international companies pull out of South Africa. The poor will suffer the most, mass inflation, fuel shortage, food shortages, then the banks will start closing down. South Africa will become like Zimbabwe. The only difference is no neighbouring African country will take in South African refugees.

Displacement and Land Pressure: Land Encroachment: As Bantu-speaking groups, including the Nguni (Xhosa, Zulu, etc.) and Sotho-Tswana peoples, migrated southwards, they brought with them agricultural practices and larger-scale cattle herding. This expansion often led to the displacement of the San and Khoikhoi from their traditional lands. Over time, the Bantu groups' need for land for farming and grazing increased the pressure on the indigenous populations, leading to territorial conflicts. Conflict and Subjugation: Violent Clashes: There were instances where the expansion of Bantu groups resulted in violent conflicts. The San, who were primarily hunter-gatherers, and the Khoikhoi, who were pastoralists, often found themselves in defensive positions against these more numerous and sometimes better-armed groups. The San, in particular, faced severe marginalization, being pushed into less desirable lands or into service roles. Slavery and Servitude: In some cases, members of the San and Khoikhoi communities were captured or forced into servitude by Bantu groups, particularly during times of conflict or when their lands were taken over.

The population of South Africa in 2025 by race is estimated based on current trends and projections: African: Approximately 81.4% of the total population. With a projected population of around 63 to 65 million, this would mean roughly 51.3 to 52.9 million people. Coloured: Around 8.2% of the population, translating to about 5.2 to 5.3 million people. Indian/Asian: Making up about 2.7% of the population, this would equate to around 1.7 to 1.8 million people. White: Estimated to be 7.3% of the population, which would be approximately 4.6 to 4.7 million individuals. So that means: The Total of land ownership in numbers look like this: White: 53% of 4.7 million people - Two million, four hundred ninety-one thousand African: 22% of 52.9 million people - Eleven million, six hundred thirty-eight thousand Coloured: 12% of 5.3 million people - Six hundred thirty-six thousand Indian/Asian: 9% of 1.8 million people - One hundred sixty-two thousand Not sure who other is, also if you think the government will only take land from white people, you are deluding yourselves, they will take it from everyone, you will own nothing and be happy.
DA please move away from the “what about Zimbabwe” thing. Democratising home ownership and access to land for productive purposes is central to mission of economic growth.
Listening to the expert and taking into account the track record of government, this thing will never be implemented. It is too complex, procedural and even juristic. Seems like the Expropriation Authority itself can take decades to expropriate one hector.
The panel, especially the PAC representative, was adamant that the truth should be told. I agree, but, the EFF comment about the difference between the settler and the native is ludicrous since all of us in South Africa are settlers. The Bantu tribes from the North East and the whites from the South. The only Natives in this equation are the Koi people and the truth be told, they were driven into the desert by all the settlers, black and white. So then, willing seller, willing buyer should still prevail in our democracy and that way fair deals can be made around land expropriation.
You DON'T need land !! You need A JOB !! Keep voting ANC, EFF, MK and you, your children, your grandchildren will NEVER have a job, a home, a car, an education, a life. Why don't you see that ? You have a mental block !

I believe people(farmers) put a lot of labor(although cheap labor?), knowledge, wisdom and personal money, sacrifices. in saying this I'm a victim of land expropriation in apartheid days. let's bring in the wisdom of who really want to see fairness. lets try to calm the current hate of the past with justice and fairness for the future.
Couple of objections. Till when does the expropriation go back to? Since the colonial settlers came? (By their arrival it doesn't necessarily mean they stole any land, there was purchases made) or pre colonial? Which means the Khoi and Khoisan was here first, so will they get the land? Also, to whom does the expropriation go to? There can be many descendants of past owners, do they split it fifty fifty? Will land be expropriated in proportion to the ownership at a time? For example if a tribal leader owned 90% of an area will his/her descendes get that and the remaining 10% to the tribe leaders people? Side note: segmenting the private land ownership by race and making it 'equal' across races is not fairness. Its simply dividing land. What if 100 years from now the stats show 90% is owned by black people. Will they expropriate from them and distribute? What about people who worked hard their entire life and paid mortages, can their land just be taken without fair compensation of property value?
hahahahahahahahahaha, you think the government will only take land from white people, you have jokes. The government will take everything and give it to their cadres, just like they did in Zim. If you buy a phone from a second hand store, you pay R1500 cash, you continue to use the phone for 6 months and then run into someone who says "that's my phone, it was stolen 7 months ago, I want it back" do you give it back and forfeit R1500? If you go back to that store, they don't know who you are, they don't remember who sold them the phone. How would you solve the problem, is it fair to throw away your hard earned money to give the phone back to the original owner? Do you get to keep the phone?

Idiot. These land owner's lawfully bought the land with hard earned money and then transformed them with blood, sweat and tears. Is your phone maybe a stolen phone? I see alot of iPhones and very expensive android phones everywhere.
hahahahahahahahahaha, you think the government will only take land from white people, you have jokes. The government will take everything and give it to their cadres, just like they did in Zim. Also, is it not funny that there is no updated report on land ownership since 2019? You are being played. LOL
Is for the empowerment of anc and its cadres 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
The population of South Africa in 2025 by race is estimated based on current trends and projections:
African: Approximately 81.4% of the total population.
So that means:
The Total of land ownership in numbers look like this:
White: 53% of 4.7 million people - Two million, four hundred ninety-one thousand
African: 22% of 52.9 million people - Eleven million, six hundred thirty-eight thousand
Coloured: 12% of 5.3 million people - Six hundred thirty-six thousand
Indian/Asian: 9% of 1.8 million people - One hundred sixty-two thousand
Not sure who other is, also if you think the government will only take land from white people, you are deluding yourselves, they will take it from everyone, you will own nothing and be happy.
Mixing oil and water have never worked. There are foundational differences in the GNU.
The ANC no longer has a majority, the people spoke. To enact laws after loosing its majority and not going back to parliament is Nefarious at best .
Viva Rise Mzansi
Wt makes me happy is dt de coalition of da n anc is falling apart, we told many of u that there is no gnu but coalition for 2 parties.
Only politician can benefit from this, poor people will suffer even more😢💔
Why must land registration become racist again like in the Apartheid days?
There must go forward stopt talking about apartheid that is behind the struggle
What you do to the left, you must do to the right
DA please move away from the “what about Zimbabwe” thing. Democratising home ownership and access to land for productive purposes is central to mission of economic growth.
the bill makes sense, DA is just playing politics hope they will eventually get on board
I absolutely love the EFF❤❤❤
Rich people continue to land grab ,however poor people undermined as kand is just not used allow people to land for thier livelihood
There's big misunderstanding here
Listening to the expert and taking into account the track record of government, this thing will never be implemented. It is too complex, procedural and even juristic. Seems like the Expropriation Authority itself can take decades to expropriate one hector.
The DA lady is just at work she does know what she is saying.
Twerking for her supper like all the other uself minions for her white masters
The panel, especially the PAC representative, was adamant that the truth should be told. I agree, but, the EFF comment about the difference between the settler and the native is ludicrous since all of us in South Africa are settlers. The Bantu tribes from the North East and the whites from the South. The only Natives in this equation are the Koi people and the truth be told, they were driven into the desert by all the settlers, black and white. So then, willing seller, willing buyer should still prevail in our democracy and that way fair deals can be made around land expropriation.
What about the farmers and their families that were killed for Nothing! Where is justice for them?
DA need to come and tell us face to face at squater camps that we don't need land
DA must deported you back to Eastern Cape or where you came from.
And what will you do with the land if you get it??
You DON'T need land !! You need A JOB !! Keep voting ANC, EFF, MK and you, your children, your grandchildren will NEVER have a job, a home, a car, an education, a life. Why don't you see that ? You have a mental block !
Then pay for it like most of the people in this country. We buy our homes and land. We don't just take it. Why should people NOT be compensated when they have paid large amounts of money for their properties?
@@markwhite5926 yes we will pay for it after those who stole stole it have returned it
as long there is no without compensation,it's a joke!
So you want chaos
Compensating who
Unfortunately this expropriation act will only benefit the few and ordinary citizens will remain poor and landless, people in South Africa want jobs.
What's the use of owning 2000 hectares when you have no cash🤷
Mugabe tried to expropriate land from white settlers and here we are today.
My hope is South Africa is paying attention and has a record to try make sure we don't get carried away into Zim situation
He went about it the wrong way. Violently.
All he had to do was tell them we own land. But you can continue your farming business ❤
Uzobethwa ngamadlozi losisi, umhlaba owaxuthwa without constitution that involves it’s own people must be brought back with conditions and yet umntu athi we are fighting for people of Southern Africa.
No ANC? So the cowards force the act into place without respecting the GNU cant show up on a TV show. Black life is indeed cheap.
They act like they got 50%+1 on their own. If we’re getting these destructive laws anyway, let it be done by die ANC/EFF/MK and have a strong opposition to them.
No, it is total rubbish if one can say this ANC wants to take this country away from the people, yet they say it is in the best interest of the people.
I assume your ancestors are in India.😂😂😂🫢🫵
Born and brought up in SA.

@@shaunnaidoo326 we have no Naidoo surname in Africa clown
The intentions of the government to empower communities through land redistribution have been thwarted by various challenges, including among others, corruption among state officials, bureaucratic hurdles, favouritism towards elites, limited access to funding, implementation inefficiencies, and various other external factors, government has proven to be just 2incompetent period, as they also corrupt
So basically we can take the president's house and his houses and and anything anc has
There's a debate on whether it's better for citizens to lose their property rights?
I believe people(farmers) put a lot of labor(although cheap labor?), knowledge, wisdom and personal money, sacrifices. in saying this I'm a victim of land expropriation in apartheid days. let's bring in the wisdom of who really want to see fairness. lets try to calm the current hate of the past with justice and fairness for the future.
How will this effect Foreign Investment?
BLACKS ONLY PANEL,,,,QUESTION ,,WHO ARE REALLY RACIST???,,EXCLUSIVE DIRECTOR
The racists are those that are against land reform
Are you for real, the DA sent a black woman to represent you, you a racist by any chance?
White people running the show at the back...like DA
DA always send they teagirls and garden boys to fight they battles

Also, is it not funny that there is no updated report on land ownership since 2019? You are being played. LOL
I fully support this bill!
Why?
@johngrebnebeil4311 The land must return to the rightful owners
@ntokozolugogo4762 But this act doesn't say that. Please read the bill with understanding, and if you're too lazy to read, listen to that researcher from the EFF.
The EFF guy is 100% correct
Another loophole to steal.
investor confidence now zero. policy like this is not how to grow the economy..
But this was discussed in parliament, the DA failed to defend it.let the land be owned by all Africans 57:16
Give away state farms, give people the skills and means to grow their own food.
Zimbabwe 2.0 here we are.
Why is the official opposition not in studio?
Cause if they in studio then the nation will know who holds the land.
Official opposition in GNU?
You cant see the woman with the big blue shirt that says DA on it?
Y always DA bring blacks to debate their dispute......
😂😂😂You know why moes
If they brought the white person you would still have something to say
Exactly
Because the DA has senior black people, contrary to the ANC that has no whites,
DA is a multi racial party
Zim 2.0
I think every south African must listen to this clip. So well articulated. Thank you to The lawyer for such knowledgable explanation.

Eff all the way
hahahahahahahahahaha, you think the government will only take land from white people, you have jokes. The government will take everything and give it to their cadres, just like they did in Zim. If the Eff want to amend section 25 they should have voted for the PAC,and the PAC should have amended that section as we speak
Why is the word of DA has to be right, what do they know about governing the country than governing a province, this DA is seating there acting as if what DA says has to be true,DA doesn't want a consultation but dictating ANC,DA is 20% less than ANC,thus they need to behave themselves, this law is not helping no one and if DA comes this angle we will end up in dustbin as a country.
EEF is new in the land issue and they were in the ANC opposing it
Anc steal thats all
Just another BEE lobsided Wara Wara!!
Having EFF won't make your life better
The DA is being given more airtime than other parties, and Blane is biaised

Again Im annoyed about people who don't make it their business to read and research these acts before they comment.
What about the buildings that have been hijacked in Hillbrow? Take those buildings back and make them livable forthe poor!
Be quiet. Stupid😂
Expropriate the land owned by EFF and ANC…without compensation

This will not benefit poor South Africans they will not even benefit any land but will receive more suffering than it is now
