Dumb q but if i use this to record a speaker at an event on a podium, how far away can this light be from the subject to light them up well?

It’s a pretty bright light, but it IS meant more as an On Camera light or accent lighting. So maybe less than 10 feet to be effective? 10-20 feet? It’s subjective. I probably wouldn’t go more than 5-10.
