Cool i'm 10 mins in and you can use any Vst3 plugs?!!!!! Just what everybody wanted!!!! Nice one Chris, you rock! I wouldn't have known if I hadn't watched this!
Hi Cris. Thanks so much on this video. Is this studiorack actually free. Is it a separate plugs that i can just download or i must download the studiovers before i can get it. Just want to be sure. Thanks
Chris - great video. Why would you use this vs. an Fx track? Perhaps if you need more than 5 fx, and if you wanted parallel or fx for one specific band - the Waves would be better ??
That's a good question, I see it like I'm creating my own plugin(s) so I don't use it to replace an FX track, but as a personalized superhero plugin :-)
Thank you very much Chris! I was just looking for such plugin to use with WaveLab Elements to extend number of insert slots and your video came out. Will try it :)
Greetings. Could someone tell me why it doesn't detect any of my vst3? :( Scanning individually, the default folder or in any way, it always says "0 pluggins scanned" 🤷🏽♂️
Can't believe this even exists. This should be integrated to Cubase! If waves can do it for free, then Steinberg can do it also. Or not? Chris, you always find some very interesting and useful topic and inform us with the latest and best, thank you for this!! ❤🔥
Thanks for the walkthrough! Waves has a habit of annoying customers with the massive amount of spam they send so I probably would've missed this. This is a great update!
Bro. Am running trial version cubase 12. For quick am reviewing it as I am going to buy a DAW. I have some pionts need to figure out. First, are there volume control(fader) on the track in project zone arrangment (not the mixconsole!). Second, is there a way to show a single fader over project zone arrangment as I dont like the inspector view?!. Third, are snapshot, group list, region list features are there in cubase ? Thanks
I see it like a tool to create my own plugin(s) so I don't use it to replace an FX track, but as a personalized superhero plugin by combining several processing to create my own plugin :-)
thank you! so cool, a blue cat patchwork/mb7 for free , such a bargain!!! if they add oversampling per slot , attack/sustain splitter and mid/side left/right splitter it would be the best free utility
About the mid/side splitter, it already exists. In the stereo studiorack you just open a parallel split and for each split you can choose if you want the full signal or different channels.
Can i open vst 4 plugins on fl studio ? I Updated my waves plugins to v 14 and every waves plugin stopped working ,was really looking forward to vst 3 Support in studio rack
Hey Chris… does this work with off-line (non ‘real-time’ bounces) and render in place? The previous version of studiorack I used would only let me bounce in real-time. Hoping they have fixed this :)
Thanks Chris. My iMac Pro 2017 couldn't handle V11 of this plugin with three inserted effects in DaVinci Resolve (Fairlight). I wonder if there is a way to minimize the workload on a workstation in this plug-in.
I think it really need an option to change the crossover slop though + maybe even an option for linear phase crossovers and overall oversampling, which would make it interesting for mastering especially for the high end
Really cool to build your own mega channel strip, for example a Kush Novatron compressor & a Fabfilter EQ etc.. Or a great way to have an entire mastering Chain
My main concern with Slate VMR Is you are forced to use their plugins in their rack, which IMHO, is disrespectful to many producers, Especially if I purchase a Perpetual license, I should have the option to use the plugin just like any other VSt plugin without being tied to their rack. My question to all within this post is, does anyone know if it is possible to use the Slate VMR in the Waves Studio Rack? Waves Studio Rack Is free and supposedly you can host any VST plugin into it. Will the Slate Virtual Mix Rack Work In the Waves Studio Rack?
Oui, pour l'instant. SR est incapable de scanner les vst3 de Cubase. C'est une qustion d'integration dans Cubase de ces plugins. Waves est au courrant et en font l'analyse
That's a problem right now. Waves are looking into it. Not easy since stock plugins are integrated in Cubase in a different way than a 3rd party vst3 plugin is
@@mixdownonline cool. A few of the stock ones were found like Bitcrusher, DaTube, Chopper and Metalizer. I don’t know why those were found and not others
And you don't even have to pay for the update plan. Is Waves changing?? We'll see I definitely like this one. Created a chain for vocals with UAD LA2A's for mids and 1176 for 10k + which is really nice, can't really do it with any other plugin except for the Bluecat one, which is kind of expensive
No, Waves didn't change their model, but this one is Free to begin with, and not only Free as a launch promo, so that's why the future upgrades are also free :-)
For some reason this plugin makes Cubase Pro 10.5 crash every time after just a few minutes use, even the new update.😕 According to steinberg support it is compatible with Cubase Pro 12. But it seems the older versions have trouble with this.
I have contacted waves, when I load the waves MV2 into the new studiorack, it instantly closes my DAW, ( Reaper) I also tried the same in Reason 11, same issue, anybody else
Because my version of MV2 is version 11, it is not compatible with the studiorack version 14, so I would need to update the MV2, or basically buy it again, which I don't plan on doing.
If you get this free and start to work with it only for the vst3 plug-ins part. Beware because in 1 year, you will have to pay an annual subscription to continu to use it . If you own waves plug-ins than it's for you. Otherwise by warned that this is clic bait for anybody else. That's how waves work. I used to use GTR for guitars until I had to pay to continu using the version I already paid for. Never going to use Waves plug-ins ever again. For me, they are crooks.
Studiorack has been free since it came out, and every version update for it is free. Also, you don't have to "pay to continu using the version I already paid for". You only pay if you want to upade the plugin to a newer version that has come out (and even that's only for the "major" versions, like from 13 to 14), same as you have to pay to update your Cubase version, for example. But if you're fine with the current version you own, you don't need to pay for it. It's not an annual subscription, and your comment can be quite misleading.

great episode, will definitely download this for free as I have many Waves plugins.... cool shirt Chris you have by the way 😀
Awesome thank you, Rudy!
Hi Chris. Thanks for the video. Love it! But does this plugin really minimize the cpu usage??
Not much
I had stop using this because you could only use waves plugins...This is truly a Studio Rack..Thanks Chris...Thanks Waves
You bet! Thanks Waves!

@@zcythegeist nope, I could not use Studiorack. But for the purpose I wanted it, I discovered another free plugin named Element by Kush View.

What sounds do you use for bass drum and snare?
On this one, the original recording + a kick and snare sample to support the recording
@@mixdownonline sounds very good...your own samples or from any known company?
You can basically do the same in Studio One with the integrated Splitter, but the Studiorack UI is nicer.

Is it possible to install third party vst3 on the Waves server rack? It would be killer

This is game changer for sure
Definately
