Thank you for the classic video. 9/11 is my fathers birthday he was 28 at that time. My father was 12 years old when Bob Barker first hosted the price is right. I was just 2 months going on 3 months when this video came out.

How come Bill Cullen didn't host the 1972 revival of "Price" for CBS? I know he was considered to host the 1972 revival

@@chaupin5 He has crippling effects from Polio, and they wanted someone more able to move around, and more energetic.
If you've seen Bill, he rarely moves, has to sit often, and his stint on "The Joker's Wild" proved he couldn't keep up.
It's a shame, but what a class act with a sense of humor Bill was.

...and there had been some other great notable moments I remember watching TPIR during its 17th season such as:
*) a contestant named Morgan came up and tells Bob that he sleeps during his show before playing Cliff Hangers. After he bombs, Bob quotes "Confucious said ' Not good to sleep through Price Is Right'".
*) a 90 something year old female contestant comes on stage BEFORE heading back to contestants row bidding unusual bids on merchandise such as $200 in which "she dosen't want it anyhow" and $3000.
*) a Jamacian lady in set to play the Check Game and tells Bob "This is one of the games I don't like" before laughing hysterically. After losing the game from writing $1575 on the check and going over, Bob tells the audience "she looks unhappy" very, very slow.
*) Speaking of the Check Game, one elderly male contestant placed the number 3 on the check in which a jet ski was its grand prize and didn't know what to do with the 3 written on the check.

Also, there was a Santa's Workshop home viewer showcase which displays some of the best acting work from Rod Roddy as Santa Claus and Barker's Beauties as his elves and this moment on the Phone Home Game where a home viewer breaks down in tears after blowing away 3 chances at a potential grand prize by calling out the prizes and not the prices and the number of times Bob Barker has mentioned 17 years at times, one in which he mentions that back then cars were $2000-$3000 and in 17 more years, they will be worth $30,000-$40,000. And lastly, what do you remember from TPIR's 17th season?

There was a contestant named Arlene who, on December 8, 1988, won $10 000 on grand game and another $11,000 on the big wheel.

@@eric21200 Yes, I remember watching that one when it first came out. I didn't find out what happened during the showcase showdown because there was a CBS Special Report interruption in the middle of it. So I don't know whether or not Arlene won more or not.

Now or Then would have been tougher then. Since the mid 90s, the then year has been ten, or something close to ten years before. In this episode, it was three.

Wow! Three Strikes for a Geo Metro? That’s a very difficult game to win and is usually reserved for more expensive vehicles 😮
