- Hey guys! Getting down with Southern California real quick with this here Toyota Tacoma! It has a supercharged 2.7L inline-4 under the hood as well as a few other suspension and driveline components that make it a very unique and entertaining daily driver sport truck. Now, as someone who is most in love with a well balanced, mid-engined car, this Tacoma may seem a little off... and it is. The experience being here in California driving the Malibu canyons for the first time this year is so overwhelming on its own, that I'm glad we began our trip with Ozzie's truck. Now just wait until we drive his 650whp Evo ;) Enjoy!

Love this truck! Also this is a much better review then Smoking Tire. Hated the way he was basically bashing the truck to the owner. Such a jackass move.

Lots of effort is put into these videos, shame it doesn't get much attention. Maybe make some collabs and film some car events would help.

Same here! Just picked up a 2011 Tacoma extended cab, same motor. Mine is an automatic. Got it for just a truck, no mods planned. I've had hotrods an muscle cars. Now I'm interested in having fun with this truck. Not interested in lift kits or off-road, just a fun, snappy street Taco Thanks!

230 hp!!!! my base mode 2.7 Tacoma makes 139 hp to the wheel. I might have to look at this turbo kit.

Awesome video! the sound quality seems to be bit off though...first timer ever.. I had to turn down the volume on my desktop speakers.. it could be that the device that captures the engine noise was a little close to the blower? And I have a supercharger honda lol with a rotrex blower on it..

That taco looks and sounds amazing. I also have a 2011 Tacoma base. But I added bigger tires and a lift kit , lightbar and lights on the front. And he’s right. There’s nothing available to add more horsepower to this minitrucks. And people do ask me if it’s a 4x4 but it’s not ;_; but I’m happy with it :)

I have the same bodystyle of tacoma and I'm looking for that kind of fitment with maybe a tad more poke and have no clue what to look for help?
If you think 2.7l is big for a i4, you can get stroker kits up to 3.1l and with 97mm pistons it's almost 3.2l on a stock b230 block. Can go to 3.4l with a custom raceblock

the 2016 and 2017 SR's offered 5spd manual with the i4.

Stopped by to visit again. I'm not really interested in the engine mods, mainly because of what it is. I want this truck to be one of those 30 years from now, faded paint stolen tailgate, rotten upholstery, but still running the road...😅

@@CoelhoSports not toyotas. They always made leaf under mini truck versions of ther midsize offroad truck. Only 2016 the stopped the leaf under but they still give the 2.7.

Only has 230hp? That truck weighs what, 2,700k? That truck needed upgraded breaks with increased hp.
The truck did NOT need upgraded brakes, I choose to do that on my own, never a bad idea to upgrade brakes on any vehicle
@@ozman1975 Anytime you change your suspension and increase horsepower the way you did it, it's a very good idea to upgrade your braking system. What you've done to your truck is a major change from factory specs. I know Toyota has a tendency to over engineer suspension and braking, mainly due to aftermarket add-ons, but in my opinion, I believe you would have gone through brake pads like socks if you hadn't upgraded your braking system.
