The dreaded Dagger Stroke. This fundimental airbrush stroke is loved and hated by so many. In this video, I try to make it a little easier to get down.
Great tips! I usually practice on a Bounty paper towel. lol I like following the patterns. Of course the downside is the paper is slightly different. ;)
That is great using the patterns in the paper as a guide. The other nice thing with working with paper towels is the absorbancy. It makes practice much more forgiving.
And now it makes sense :0 yesterday when you mentioned not doing daggers i was almost yelling at my screen at you :) Despite you showing it, I never teach beginners to "dive bomb" It is probably the biggest reason so many damage needles. Same as you if you learn that muscle memory and get that distance in your mind you will naturally migrate to pulling in tight. Hey 742 ! your gaining.. How's the hours coming?
Thanks my friend. Too many bent needles and frustration from trying to teach the dagger on its own. Yep, slowly building which I'm happy with. Just going to keep loading content!

Not to add to the confusion--I like to create the fades in both directions for added control.
Great point. It all creates a greater control and muscle memory.
Fun the mental s . Awsome
Mental is the operative word there.😁

What about when you hold the air on and paint comes out when your not pulling back for paint
The needle isn't seating in the nozzle as it should. Almost always that is because there is dried paint in there.
