  • On this weeks episode we finally arrive in Our Magnificent Red Center. We set up camp at the Ayres Rock Campground and use as our base to explore the iconic Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park. We spend an amazing 3 days taking in everything this part of Australia has to offer.
This year Steve celebrated his 60th year on planet earth and his mother gave him a very generous gift, a full guided base walk tour around ULURU. We meet up with the tour guide before the sun rises and head out to Uluru to embark on this amazing 11.5km walk learning about the history and cultural significance this area has to offer. During the walk we discover ancient aboriginal art, tranquil water holes and watch an amazing sunrise.
The next day we head out early to Kata Tjuta, it’s our Wedding Anniversary and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate by walking through this beautiful mountain range. We do the Walpul walk trail steeped in 10s of 1000s of year’s history before heading over to the Valley of the Winds to find the most spectacular view we’ve ever encountered.
So go and get yourself a cold drink and come and us for the adventure.

Thank you and we are really happy you enjoyed the episode. We had no idea how different the geology in the area was particularly between Uluru and Kata Tjuta, amazing 😀

Hi Steve and Allison, thank you so much for a really great tour in this video as well as the others. I’m not sure if I will have the opportunity to visit in person so thoroughly appreciate going with you both. Thanks again, Kate

What a great birthday present - a walk around the rock. The red centre is certainly picturesque. If you ever venture down to the Snowy Monaro area you will need a diesel heater for sure. As I write this it is snowing and it’s September. Congratulations on reaching over 6K subscribers and Happy Anniversary to you both.

Hi guys, I have been fortunate enough to go to Ayers Rock twice for work. The first time I went I had absolutely no idea just how big it is. And what is a rarity it rained on the other occasion, which was really cool. Unfortunately I haven’t been to the Olga’s. I’m a reasonably new subscriber and am enjoying your content.

Thank you mate we’re really happy you enjoyed the episode, we really enjoyed the rock but I must say the walk through Kata Tjuṯa was next level. We’d definitely do both again. It rained about a week before we arrived so there was still a little water running down the rock but we would have loved to have seen it covered in waterfalls

It's ok Steve, I still call it Ayers Rock and the Olga's.

It's sad that you can't climb Ayers Rock any more

Thanks for watching, from what we were told. They stopped people climbing the rock for two reasons obviously aboriginal cultural reasons and also the amount of rubbish (💩) etc. That was left on top of the rock by tourist and making its way down into the waterholes. It looked very steep
