Sang with Paulist Choir in Chicago. One of the most moving religious experiences of my very young life: 10 - 13 years ols. First real understanding of religious mystery with this music. "...in a mystery". This choir only suffers from the recording acoustics.

Just want to make a correction on a prior posting. The Cherubic Hymn is part of the Orthodox Christian Church, not the Catholic Church.

Actually, there ARE Catholic Churches of the Eastern Rite, too, and the Cherubic Hymn IS in fact used in the Byzantine Rite.

@Yes4Brain My choral director of more than 10 years is jewish and yet we sing a lot of Masses (by Bach, Mozart) and sacred music, but as he says "it's not my fault that the best choral music ever was written for the Catholic Church" lol. And we perform in churches most of the time because of the acoustic. But it has nothing to do with religion... I think it's all about music and good feelings!

Way too fast and way too top heavy. NEEDS WAY WAY MORE BASS!!!!!!!! Russian choirs are constructed as a pyramid, with the most voices in the choir being the deep basses, on up to the lightest group being the highest sopranos.
