40mm case is the absolute largest a dress case should be, I'm a firm believer in 39 or less. But keeping the lug-to-lug ar 45mm, that's phenomenal and makes the 40mm case a lot more acceptable. I'm a big stickler for no lug overhang on dress pieces.
OMG the perpetual calendar looks gorgeous, need to add that one to my wishlist! It looks perhaps a little bit thick on the video but I need to see it in real, and it's understandable anyways considering the complications. Speaking of which, what is the small number complication at 9 o'clock?
This is correct the portofino gets skipped by most when considering IWC. But that perpetual calendar. Wow. Such a handsome elegant watch. With a spectacular movement. As a high end dress watch with grand complications this is quite the watch. It makes little sense to me they do the same on a big bold tool flieger watch. But on this, it has a quiet majesty to it. Nicely shot video many thanks
Just ordered a 2015 portofino on the bracelet, cream dial and can’t wait for arrival, should be here Friday ready for the weekend. Love the perpetual calendar, so beautiful
Stunning watches! Just to thick in my eyes, like most IWC seem to be. And for a dress watch there’s to much going on with the dial for me. 40mm however is the perfect size for me, being 192 cm and with some muscles it wears perfectly. But I think IWC is doing a good job in general lately
Nice overview of something I didnt know - Why do I feel IWC doesnt get much love it should deserve? Maybe a question for Andrew at AET therapy session @AboutEffingTime
Fully agree ! The perpetual calendar and the complete calendar are amazing!
Lobe my Portofino Chrono. So understated, so well finished. These new versions are amazing too! IWC are making some lovely complications lately

leap year indicator!
I think leap year. According to IWC site that’s the only other complication besides day, date, month, moon.
IWC create gorgeous watches. Knocked another one out of the park, Marcus. Great video.

I can't do 40mm on a dress watch. I'm small though.
I wish it was a 42mm. I love this watch but even with a 16.5mm wrist it feels too small.
Gorgeous!

Marcel Prairie
looks like A lange and sohne
Nice
IWC releases *THIS*, yet people will still shite on them for being oVeRpRiCeD and using off-the-shelf movements 🙄
IWC uses in house movements in the majority of their watches
@@bdegrds Indeed 👍 many people just don’t know this fact
