As "How-To" videos go, this is worthy of an Oscar! Well shot, narrated/hosted and all-important details were covered in full, even for a knucklehead-novice like yours' truly. Splendid job!
I received a Thule EasyFold XT rack but couldn't figure out how to manipulate the clamp arms without struggling with the bike. Now I see how the clamp arms can be removed, reinstalled and positioned easily. Thanks. I had to watch four RUclips videos before this was demonstrated.
This video is a lifesaver! I stared at the cartoon drawings in the installation manual and had no freakin' idea how to proceed. Your video URL should be included within every installation manual. THANK YOU!!
Thank you for such an excellent, thorough and step by step video! I just received my rack but the hieroglyphic instructions were awful. This was so helpful!
thanks for such clear instructions...super helpful video! I had been scratching my chin trying to figure out how to get the darn ramp out of the rack to use and now I know. Also great to see how the locking mechanisms work on this rack. Much appreciated!
Thank you. We just bought this rack and the video is by far much better than the instruction booklet. Thank you for putting it together i am so excited to test out the knowledge in the video.
Thank you SOOOOO much for sharing this informative and well-made video. I could not understand the Thule instruction book. Your step-by-step process made my first time use easy and your guidance made me feel like I had a friend next to me. Kudos to you!
This was the perfect tutorial for me as I just bought a Subaru Cross Trek and The Thule hitch bike rack so I could haul my bicycles! Thank you so much! You did an excellent job of explaining it to me!
There were a couple stumbles that I was surprised made it past the editing room but then realized it's good to see opportunities where correction was necessary. Thanks for keeping it honest.
Please tell me the name and link to the ROOF RACK on the Outback car in your video. Love it. AND your video for the Thule Easy-Fold is exactly spot on. Thank you for such detail in your instructions! We love ours and you made it simple to install and attach our bikes.
@@rackattack Just installed it all by myself! I have a Trek Verve 3 e-bike and it took me some time to figure out the right position for the short handle to hold on to the frame, but finally got it in a good spot! Thanks again for your step by step easy to follow instructions, I just forwarded this link to my friend who ordered the same rack!
Thank you. This was very helpful. I need the longer straps for my husbands fat tire bike. I couldn't find them on the Thule website, can you tell me where I can purchase them? Please? Thank you!!
Probably a silly question but the only spots I can clamp my ncm moscow m3 ebike to have brake wires down the tube. Is it OK to clamp it onto the wires? Thanks for the video.
Hello. It is the Thule Trail Basket but no longer available. Below is a link to an alternative basket that is currently offered. Thanks! www.rackattack.com/cargo-baskets-platforms/thule-859xt-canyon-cargo-basket/
I am new to having bike hitches. Whenever I put the SUV in reverse, my rear camera is obstructed by the bikes or by folded up platform. The obstructions also make the proximity alert start to sound. Is there any workaround to these inconveniences? Thanks!
Hello. There are rear camera relocation kits that are used for towing and could potentially be applied for this application. There may be an option to deactivate the rear sensors while the rack is loaded, this option would be offered in the vehicles owners manual or consult with the auto dealer. Thanks!
Hello. Yes, be sure to rock the rack back and forth and up and down while tightening the turn knob in order to allow the wedge to get nested into the corner of the receiver hitch. Thanks!
The pin should be fully seated inside of the hitch that your are using. Thule requires a minimum distance of 1.5" for the hitch hole, the distance is measure from the edge furthest outside edge of the receiver to the hole.
A quick question.. what can you do about making sure that the rear license plate (I am a Canadian) as well as the rear brack/indicator lights are not blocked by the rack and wheels of the bikes? Is one legally allowed to have a smaller license plate made up (in addition to the attached vehicle plate) and attach it somehow to the bike rack?
Hello. The EasyFold XT would require a hitch extension in order to work with the Jeep Wrangler, assuming it is equipped with the standard hitch which is flush with the bumper. the extension would be needed to provide clearance for the spare tire. Thanks.
Hello. Thanks for checking, answer is no, the EasyFold XT (and most other bike racks) have a proprietary, anti-wobble, tools-free hitch lock mechanism.
Hello. It may be possible that one of our stores could save an EasyFold box for you after an in store sale, check with a store near you to see if this is possible: www.rackattack.com/stores/ Thanks!
I found this rack to be extremely incompatible with upper level Mountain Bikes and EBikes with more sophisticated frame geometry. The arms just would not clamp to the frames conveniently or safely.
I just got this rack for two (2) Como 4 Turbos by Specialized. They have a thick framing (to hide the battery) but I was able to get it to work just fine.
Hello, thanks for commenting. Thule designed the clamps for versatility but, unfortunately, there still may be some bike designs that pose a challenge. If possible we'd suggest a test fit at one of our stores to confirm prior to purchase: www.rackattack.com/stores
I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...
Hello. Yes, that would be a welcome addition to products. As of now those features can only be found on European versions of this rack. Here is an aftermarket product to provide the added functionality to the US model: bikeracklight.com/product/thule-easyfold-bike-rack-light-bar/

Sound great!
Hello Paul. This was an excellent "how to" video. Thank you very much for taking the time to create it.
Just collected my EasyFold, an excellent video, well explained and illustrated, thank you!
That's awesome! Hope you and your bikes get to see a lot of amazing places.
Great video!
First class demo. Just bought one of these for a heavy ebike.
Glad you enjoyed the demo. Hope the new bike rack serves you well!
great demonstration and review. I didn't know it had a ramp included!
Hello. Thanks for the encouraging feedback. The ramp is a great, hidden feature.
Thank you for an excellent video - so much easier to figure out compared to the Thule instruction guide.

Great Bike Rack!!
I'm glad you like it
Great video. Just don't forget to disable your reverse sensors on your car for it could lock up your brakes of your vehicle going in reverse.
Great tip! The dealerships are usually the best equip to handle this request
great explanation
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video. I love the portability but some of the parts don't seem as sturdy as the other racks by Thule. Amazing video though
Thanks for watching!

Probably a silly question but the only spots I can clamp my ncm moscow m3 ebike to have brake wires down the tube. Is it OK to clamp it onto the wires? Thanks for the video.
Hello. It would be best to have slack in the cable so that the clamp can grip under it. Thanks!
Brilliant
Glad you like it, Sonia!
Can this rack be used with a 2” swingaway adapter, such as the Kuat Pivot v2?
Hello. Yes, be sure to review all of the user manuals to ensure this product combination meets all expectations.
What's that cargo rack mounted luggage carrier on the top of the car????
Hello. It is the Thule Trail Basket but no longer available. Below is a link to an alternative basket that is currently offered. Thanks!

Our rack, with a 50 lb e-bike and a 1 1/4 hitch, still wobbles, even with knob fastened fully. Any suggestions?
Hello. Yes, be sure to rock the rack back and forth and up and down while tightening the turn knob in order to allow the wedge to get nested into the corner of the receiver hitch. Thanks!
How far should the hitch pin go in to the receiver and stinger? The spring is not right also

Wouldn’t be legal in the UK, our rear lights and registration plate must be replicated on the carrier if the vehicle’s own lights are obscured.
Hello. Correct, there is a UK version available through Thule UK and UK dealers. Thanks!
Merci Canada M.T.L Québec love wow ❤

Never saw such "skinny" bike before.... :)
Ha ha, yes, thanks!
This is a very expensive bike rack and with this price tag they should have created a bike rack that does not block the license plate and tail light.
