@ It is messy, yet so fun and satisfying. I was doing a 0.1mm trace repair yesterday on a non-removable board inside of a 40mm 4 wire fan. Was shocked I managed to get the soldering iron tip down inside. Everyone should give it a try. One day I might even invest in a microscope.
I listen to all of the intro songs. Loved the Rapper's Delight homage today. I'm a 44 year old nerd, but even my teenaged daughters think that your flow is pretty solid and that this is a better way of thanking your Patrons than just listing them.
And i really loved the take-me-back-to-Sugarhill Gang memory lane trip but I also always really really like the music that you use between the different steps.
Good shout Emilio! I do try and remember but it quite often slips my mind! I'll definitely try harder in future videos, even if it's just a voice-over or text on screen! 👍
Got to say this channel is the best on RUclips love everything about this I don't know anything about electronics or microchips etc but just great to see what you do and of course love the English humour solid lol its almost therapeutic
Can I thank you for showing me the superglue + baking powder thing. I was able to fix my son's broken shoe this morning when he told me it had a hole in the sole. One piece of flexible plastic glued on later, disaster averted and he has a working shoe until I replace it later. Thank you so much!
I'd love to see a video where you explain a little more about what you are using and where you get it from, ie tools, or the wire, what it is, is it just a thread of copper (I assume not) etc etc
Awesome video! Your original video is how I fixed my own! As for the cause, it seems like a lot of us that used raspberry pi 3 power supplies had this issue. That extra .1 volt maybe?
I looked up the data sheet for that chip. Pins 4 and 5 are D- and D+ for Port 4 and pins 10 and pins 11 are D- and D+ for Port 1. I thought for sure you wouldn't get controller one to work. I wonder if maybe controller 1 is hooked up to port 4. Either way, if that's got spots for 4 controllers, I think 2 of them are not going to work.
Little tip when you have loose pads that are still connected smooth them down flat cover with a thin layer of solder mask cure to rock hard then scape back to copper' more easy than replacing pads/traces ....
I remember playing parasol stars when i was like 4 years old. i could never find any of the gameplay anywhere cus i couldnt remember the name but finally i know it after watching this video xD thank you!
If theres a problem, yo, Steve will solve it, lets chill with dave while he wicks up the solder...... Doo dooo dooo de de doo doo NICE. Solid work as per usual. Hope vannilla ice isnt rattling around in the head of whoever reads this, if so I do apologise. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Let me ask a quick thing for my understanding: if there is no visible trace on the pcb to the chip, the pad of the chip is just to pin it down to the pcb am i right? because Stez has just fixed the pads where a trace was visible on the pcb.
Stupid Rainbow Stars Parasol Island
Parasol Stars is Bubble Bobble 3, you were right that Rainbow Island was Bubble Bobble 2.
11:24 But this isn't Bubble Bobble II, this is Bubble Bobble III :)
¡Gracias!
It seems your projects get easier but in reality you're just getting way better ! Well done Stez.
Definitely the latter: trace replacing is a very messy job, and doing it on the first try is an achievement.
Thanks M.! Yeah, I would've struggled with this a couple of years back. Definitely feel more comfortable doing it now! 😍

@@StezStixFix Thank you for not being modest.

Your intro is one another level. Always new and fresh
I listen to all of the intro songs. Loved the Rapper's Delight homage today.

Thanks Chris! Having the microscope makes it much more fun! 😁
And i really loved the take-me-back-to-Sugarhill Gang memory lane trip but I also always really really like the music that you use between the different steps.

My pleasure! Thanks for sending it over to me and I hope it carries on working well! 😍
Didn't know they had made a new "mini" version!
Nice one, Steve! I dunno why, but I always get the urge to look away when you put on the UV light 😅

Nice one Steve ! And Amazing song!. You know what could be useful for someone like me? If you can say which temps do you use for solder/de solder.
Good shout Emilio! I do try and remember but it quite often slips my mind! I'll definitely try harder in future videos, even if it's just a voice-over or text on screen! 👍

Who else sticks around here for like 20% for the fixes but 80% for HIM?
Fixing a broken thing then using that broken thing to fix ANOTHER broken thing is true satisfaction 💯
Best rap you’ve done yet IMO. Can’t go wrong with rappers delight.

I do like when you post your RUclipss, keep it up,thanks
Thanks for making me laugh Steve, love the vids!
The music in this video even sounds like a PC Engine CD game. Between that guitar tone and the synth bells at least
Excellent fix. You are a genius
Got lucky with the pads there! 😅
Definitely, it could've been so much worse! 😬
Another quality and entertaining video ty !
Awesome video! Your original video is how I fixed my own! As for the cause, it seems like a lot of us that used raspberry pi 3 power supplies had this issue. That extra .1 volt maybe?
Great job

Is it just me or the raps are getting better everytime ? 😂
Another great video… thanks Steve.
Is ‘VOS’ available to sing at my wedding?
Props to “Repairs Delight” Nice!
Steve I love you ❤
Once again, great vid. Nice job
What's the small grinder you're using at 8:18?
Great video Steve! I really enjoy your problem solving skills...and also the songs too!😂 Man that game capture looks great too.
Great fix. How did you work out the three you left didn't need wire traces added?
Neat one Steve gg !
Thanks Bruno! 😍
Love your content.
Little tip when you have loose pads that are still connected smooth them down flat cover with a thin layer of solder mask cure to rock hard then scape back to copper' more easy than replacing pads/traces ....

Nice video i like the humor 😂
I remember playing parasol stars when i was like 4 years old. i could never find any of the gameplay anywhere cus i couldnt remember the name but finally i know it after watching this video xD thank you!

Kip the Kip Hakes.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
nice solid fix and video :)
you can use solder mask top and bottom of the loose pads first - to save them from coming off - save urself work
lol your freaking awesome lol love the music you really do good
What's the UV lamp you are using to cure the solder mask?
😊I love the song
As always incredible fix!! What's the name of the ending song Stez is covering?? I feel like I remember it from way back in the day
For anyone curious, its Stars by Simply Red!! Great tune
The VoS musical interlude is giving off Will Smith vibes this week. I dig it
the musics... oh so nostalgic 16bit era
That's cool but what is it? Some kind of Mini clone system?
Stez is here. Yeah
WHat kind of microscope do you use? I am interested in picking one up.
Uuuuh. The rap is getting funky!
which wire are you using to make the jumper wire ?
Nice work Steve , can you do a music cd 🎉
I wonder how hot your solder station is since you flux burn so fast away and make solder tin uncontrol !?
StezStix Fix!!!!!!
Love the Rap On This One Great Work
Your choice of incidental music suggests you might be a fan of Camel... if so, please come out as there are precious few open Camel fans in the world!
Hi Steve, not sure if best way to message, question for you, have you ever done a mod on an aAtari 2600 to make it work on current tvs?
That's a lot of Jumpers for Summertime 🤣
Restorer's Delight!
How much did you have to pay Mick to sing there at the end? Money well spent!
Yeah Steve,it's Look and not Luke.
Bubble Bobble II IS Rainbow Islands, but the game you chose was Bubble Bobble III, which is Parasol Stars lol
RMC collaboration, yes
The rap is back with a vengeance 😄
I almost fast-forwarded, but I like this little rap.
mad skills
According to the game splash screen, Parasol Stars is Bubble Bobble III, not II.
hi, what microscope to you use?
Let me ask a quick thing for my understanding: if there is no visible trace on the pcb to the chip, the pad of the chip is just to pin it down to the pcb am i right? because Stez has just fixed the pads where a trace was visible on the pcb.
have you ever played the game about fixing retro consoles called retro gadgets on steam
Your rap reminded me of "Cosmo D" from back in the day.
