What's so hard to understand? If Gayle said something that you perceive as out of line then call her out for it but you don't have to disrespect her. The same way Mal just checked Snoop by saying he didn't like what he said, he said the same thing about Gayle when he didn't like what she said. He brought respect to both situations. He respects them both enough to do that. That's all Snoop had to do but he too emotional and immature to do that and as such he has received backlash as well.
