I was always taught that the law was done away with. I am now finding out just by reading my Bible that this is NOT true!!! My mom and stepdad wigged our when I told them this and called me ignorant. They told me that people who follow the Old Testament are going to hell. I was surprised by how strongly they fight against anything in the Old Testament. I have been unable to find anywhere in the Bible that states we no longer have to follow God’s commandments.

Naomi May, My heart hurts for you because of the attacks of other on this new found truth. Truth that has always been there. People who can't defend their position usually attack as a defense, it sad but true. we have to learn not to react to their aggression but do as Yeshua did, and act in love.
Paul taught in Romans 11:24 that there is a partial hardening or blindness, he called it a mystery. This blindness that keeps people from seeing the truth of keeping Yah's commandments will be lifted at the start of the 7 year end time event, but until then only choosen people can see. So if your seeing this, thank Yah for His Grace.
Yes, you are right, the bible is clear about the Law and commandment are still for today. 1John 3:4 says that transgressing the Law is sin, so why would anyone want to sin? There are a lot of teachers that twist the new testament to support a lawless lifestyle and avoid the scriptures that are clear and direct. I like to say they use a yellow highliter to highlight the verses they like and a black marker to blot out the verses they don't. How do they get around Jeremiah 31:33? "but this is the [new] covenant... I will put my Laws within them and on their heart I will write it..."
I pray that Yah will continue to enlighten you about His Laws and His Grace and how they work together for our good through faith.

ANYONE who constantly talks about the law, Torah, Talmud, whatever, does NOT understand the New Covenant of Jesus Christ. NOBODY in these posts and threads actually knows the Bible. You feel good now because someone, who is NOT a believer in the New Testament, told you what you want to hear. Personally, I'll take the 'pure and simple devotion to Christ' anytime.

WHAT does it say, goofy boy? It says the DOGMA (from "δόγμασιν") is abolished....not the Torah itself!
THERE IS no Torah which separates Gentiles from non-Gentiles (as in Eph.2:14).
Paul affirms that Christ abolished the bogus anti-Torah HUMAN DOGMA separating Gentiles and non-Gentiles (Eph.2:15).
So is Torah abolished too? Of course not! That's not even the subject here!
In fact, Paul JUST STATED that we are NOT excluded from the covenants (Eph.2:12) which, of course, are given as TORAH (e.g., Jer.31:33).
Again, Paul JUST STATED that we are NOT excluded from ISRAEL (Eph.2:12), and Israelites obey TORAH (Mal.4:4).
Paul said we are saved by GRACE (Eph.2:8-9). GRACE extends to the HUMBLE (Jas.4:6). HUMBLE people obey TORAH (Nu.12:3;Ps.25:9;Ex.33:13;Zep.2:3).
Paul said we are saved by FAITH (Eph.2:8-9;Gal.3:11 citing Hab.2:4). What is this FAITHFULNESS Paul cites in Hab.2:4?
      (see FAITHFULNESS in Ps.119:30,86,138).
After all, FAITH IS OF TORAH (Mt.23:23;Dt.32:20).
Paul opposes LAW WITHOUT FAITH (Gal.5:4-5).
Paul REQUIRES Law (Rom.2:13) and FAITH (Rom.5:1) for justification.
      TOGETHER.
      Not law alone.
      Not faith alone.

The English word Fulfil is PLEROO Strongs cites the verse specifically in Matt 5 as to be defined as: to fulfil, i.e. to cause God's will (as made known in the law) to be obeyed as it should be, and God's promises (given through the prophets) to receive fulfilment

But he said plainly DO NOT THINK THAT I HAVE COME TO ABOLISH THE LAW AND PROPHETS.... You fundamentally are misinterpreting fulfill from the Greek pleroo. He was under the law at that time and at the time he wasn't there to abolish it yet at the time, that is why he said it. He was there fulfill it at the time when he said this. It wasn't time for do away with it yet. No I
didn't take it from the text. He said a lot times that his time hadn't come yet. The law had to be fulfilled first before he could anything. Kind of like when we have a trial first before someone is convicted of a crime. It is a due process first. He said he there to fulfill. Everyone wants to read the first part that verse and not last part. Jeremiah 31 says I will make a new covenant with house of israel and Judah. Not the same one I made with their fathers.
Sounds like abolished after he fulfilled it to me. As long as he was alive he fulfilled the law. Not the law of the pharisees, but the law he gave Moses.

I have studied and learned Hebrew & Greek from their original texts, words & definitions and in a lot cases, their words have a different definition than our English language, which distorts understanding. It was not written, originally, in English. So you have to make certain that English definitions match original definition in Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek. Their language, their words, their definitions. Not ours. You couldn't be more right sir! Thank you!! Finally!!!

Total nonsense. He's doing the one law thingy which is only about Passover. Read carefully and you can see for yourself it's not talking about the same law applying to gentiles as well as the Israelites. It's talking about slaves who have been purchased and foreigners who want to celebrate the Passover on the condition that they are circumcised.
      Instructions for the Passover
43And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “This is the statute of the Passover: No foreigner is to eat of it. 44But any slave who has been purchased may eat of it, after you have circumcised him. 45A temporary resident or hired hand shall not eat the Passover.
46It must be eaten inside one house. You are not to take any of the meat outside the house, and you may not break any of the bones.
47The whole congregation of Israel must celebrate it. 48If a foreigner resides with you and wants to celebrate the LORD’s Passover, all the males in the household must be circumcised; then he may come near to celebrate it, and he shall be like a native of the land. But no uncircumcised man may eat of it. 49The same law shall apply to both the native and the foreigner who resides you. This is not talking about the law of Moses and the covenant at Sinai. That hasn't happened yet. Either he is ignorant of this being instructions for Passover or he's a deceiver and purposely taking the scriptures out of context. A lot of people teach the One Law error and even though as shown in these passages quoted, many will still believe what this man says rather than what these scriptures indicate in context.

The only difference in torah keepers and majority of christians is , shabbot, feast days, and dietary laws. Thats pretty much it.
If u claim you love god but disregard what he says, then u would be a hypocrite. Love requires proof/ action. You are not saved by your own works, only through jesuss grace, but if u claim to know him, righteous faith would be evidence of that love. Not dead faith.

The law wasn’t done away with. It’s written on our hearts. God always wanted us to obey Him from the goodness of our heart and not out of obligation like robots. What does loving God look like? “If you love me keep my commandments “ What if your child told you “Dad I love you but I’m not doing anything you tell me. You know my heart and that I’m a good person”
I agree, thank God for his grace. We no longer have to try and do good in our own strength. We have the empowerment of Holy Spirit. God standard of righteousness came by Moses, but the ability to reflect God standard of righteousness came by Yeshua. Keeping the laws does not save us just like being baptized doesn’t save us, but it’s a reflection, and an open show of God’s finished work, of a changed and renewing life, of a renewed covenant made between God and His people. All glory to God!

The one great error of us mainstream Christianity is our intentional separation from the roots of our faith. This is deliberately done by replacing the holy day of our Lord, the Sabbath, with Sunday. Jesus Christ himself said that He is Lord of Sabbath and he has come not to abolish the Law and the Prophets but to fulfill it. He adds that whoever obeys the Law will be called great in the kingdom of heaven and those who rejects the law will be called least in the Kingdom. Jesus observed and commanded the observance of Sabbath. So were the apostles. Sunday as a holy day is not taught by Moses, not taught by Jesus and his apostles. Sunday as the holy day is contrary to the will of God.

That is correct. Even Paul kept the Old testament law when he did the Nazarite vow, circumcised Timothy and when the apostles told the jews to circumcise themselves in Acts 15 and 21. The interpretation of Paul's letters must be reconciled with the Apostles' actions. Sadly mainstream christianity failed to do this.

Hi, LL Ministries, I used to be a Gentile that did not observe the Torah, and now I do, but not all of it. The question that I'd like to ask is to what extent should we Gentiles observe Torah? Since from where I come, there are no rabbis/Jewish Studies scholars around, the only source for me to learn the teachings of the Torah is my church, which teaches us, the church members to observe the Torah. The reason I'm asking you this question is that every time I ask a question about a law in the Leviticus, the one pastor who studies Biblical Hebrew/Studies, he either told me that the law no longer applies because it is Halakha or something, which was created by the religious leaders in the past. If you happen to have a website or reference in any form, be it a book, podcast, etc. that can at least explain how to distinguish which are the laws that remain applicable, and which are not, I would very much appreciate it. Truthfully, I am in a dilemma because my pastor cannot give me the answer that I am looking for, while on the other hand, other people are thinking that we are observing Torah halfheartedly since some we observe, some we do not. I apologize for leaving such a long comment here, but I just do not know who to ask. Thank you and Yeshua bless you!

Why aren't we obeying the Torah in all it has to say? To me something is definitely wrong with the beliefs taught for so long and not corrected. I really have a problem with this concerning the gentile church.

Frankly, I have come to realize trying to talk to the Jews about the New Testament is like talking to the wailing wall. Regarding those of us who were formerly gentiles, the Scriptures are very clear.
    PETER:
"He saw heaven open and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. It contained all kinds of four-footed animals and reptiles of the earth, as well as birds of the air. Then a voice spoke to him: “Get up, Peter, kill and eat!”“No, Lord!” Peter answered, “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.” The voice spoke to him a second time: “Do not call anything impure” that God has made clean." Acts 10:11-15.
"While talking with him, Peter went inside and found a large gathering of people. He said to them: “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean." Acts
    10:27-28.
"Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right." Acts 10:34-35.
"The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles." Acts 10:45.
"Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.” Acts 15:10-11.
    JAMES:
"And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me: Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name." Acts 15:13-14.
"Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood." acts 15:19-20.
"Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:" Acts 15:24.
    PAUL:
"Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses." Acts 13:38-39.
"For the promise that Abraham would be heir of the world was not made to him and his descendants through the Law, but through the righteousness that comes by faith." Romans 5:13.
"But now that you know God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you are turning back to those weak and worthless principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? You are observing special days and months and seasons and years! I fear for you, that my efforts for you may have been in vain." Galatians 4:9-11.
"Therefore let no one judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a festival, a New Moon, or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the body that casts it belongs to Christ." Colossians 2:16-17.
"Watch out for those dogs, those workers of evil, those mutilators of the flesh! For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh." Philippians 3:2-3.

Paul repeatedly called the Jews who came to Christ, some of them former pharisees, who insisted that Gentile converts obey the Mosaic laws. I didn't really understand why you guys have to be so boorish and stiff necked about something that was settled 2000 years ago, until I looked to the Bible.
"I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you will not be conceited: A hardening in part has come to Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles has come in." Romans 11:25.
"As it is written: “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that could not see and ears that could not hear, to this very day.”And David says: “May their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them. May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever. I ask then, did they stumble so as to lose their share? Absolutely not! However, because of their trespass, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel jealous. ” Romans 11: 8-11.
"He said, "Go, and tell this people: 'Keep on listening, but do not perceive; Keep on looking, but do not understand.'"Render the hearts of this people insensitive, Their ears dull, And their eyes dim, Otherwise they might see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, Understand with their hearts, And return and be healed." Then I said, "Lord, how long?" And He answered, "Until cities are devastated and without inhabitant, Houses are without people And the land is utterly desolate." Isaiah 6:9-11.
"Be delayed and wait, Blind yourselves and be blind; They become drunk, but not with wine, They stagger, but not with strong drink. For the LORD has poured over you a spirit of deep sleep, He has shut your eyes, the prophets; And He has covered your heads, the seers. The entire vision will be to you like the words of a sealed book, which when they give it to the one who is literate, saying, "Please read this," he will say, "I cannot, for it is sealed."
      Isaiah 29:9-11.

Going back to the written law, that "was a mere shadow" makes no sense. We've moved beyond the written law. If you have to rely of written, moral authority then you aren't walking with Christ. I don't know about you, but my conscience is always bothering me about something. Usually it's my tone that I use with people like you.
"But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days," declares the LORD, "I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people." Jeremiah 31:33.
"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do
not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor
adulterers, nor men who submit to or perform homosexual acts, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you WERE. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." 1 Corinthians 6:9-11."
If we are in Christ, in all honesty we should be beyond the need to be restrained by civil moral-laws. Our conscience will bother us to no end. When the conscience isn't bothering you about something that's obviously questionable, then your heart is becoming hardened, and sin is taking hold in that area.

@@codyalexander3290 Yes Scripture. For example, the tassels had techelet in them, the same material used in the curtains of the tabernacle/temple. It indicated that you worshipped the God in that tabernacle/temple and that you were the temple. Eating clean implies that someone could also become unclean, specifically, ritually unclean. The only way to become ritually clean was to wash at the temple and give an offering to remove any uncleanness. The timed prayers were offered at the exact timing of the temple offerings, morning and evening. The Jewish Siddur (prayer book) is almost entirely ordered around the temple service which is why the rebuilding of the temple is one of the 18 benedictions in the Amidah (standing) prayer. Tefillin is simply a part of the liturgical prayer service. The feast days all require, yes require, sacrifices at their appointed times in the temple or tabernacle. In fact, the appointed time of the New Moon (Rosh Chodesh) is only celebrated with a trumpet blowing and an animal sacrifice. As a matter of time, these appointed times were for all Israel throughout their generations but now we have gone without fully following these laws for a period of time longer than the entire Torah has been kept as it is written.
Jesus puts it this way, "not one jot or tittle will fall away from the Law until all is accomplished". What most people miss in His statement is that He said this at a time when the Torah could be fully followed exactly. He was saying that from that time forward "not one jot or tittle would fall away from the Law until all is accomplished" but now "jots and tittles" have been removed permanently and therefore a new Law governs men, one from the Spirit not the Letter.

@@josepheidsvik7623 that’s not how it works. Nowhere does it say in scripture that just because some laws can’t be followed it all has to be thrown out. Not one jot or tittle has been removed. Some laws were fullfilled through Christ therefore we don’t need a temple for those things. However things like unclean meat and s as nothing else the spirit leads you to follow you should. Even Daniel and others followed the law while in exile. They couldn’t keep it perfectly. Nowhere was perfection asked of anyone when delivering the law. Righteousness was asked by faithful obedience. To further add Jesus even said those who teach to break the laws would be called least in the kingdom of heaven. Idk about you but last I checked a true believer would never teach someone to break laws if Jesus said not to. That person would be called out immediately. He knew the deception that would take place by the lawless one who Paul even claimed was already at work. It’s not a salvation issue but is definitely a blessing as it will be observed in the millennium because it’s Gods perfect law for us

Listen, the OT makes it very clear. There are those who are in covenant with God and those who are not. There is no 3rd or 4th category. If you love God and want to obey his instructions then you are in covenant with him and are counted as a member of Israel. If you don't believe in God you obviously will not follow his commandments and are therefore considered a gentile.
Covenant status is not exclusive to a blood line nor is it exclusive to whether or not you believe in Jesus.
The covenant made at Sinai consisted of God laying out his instructions and the people (hebrews and a great multitude) choosing to follow them. "All that you say.We will do. "
Nowhere and i mean nowhere is there a commandment from God to believe in a Messiah to be in covenant with him.
No blood lines. No savior Messiah. Just love God and obey him to the best of your abilities. Everything else is a distraction and ultimately hogwash. Sholom.

    Shalom dear friends,
I would like to congratulate Monte on his accurate explanation of why those of us who are gentiles should observe Torah (teaching/instruction). In writing this I accept that there are many differing views on the subject and everyone is entitled to their own opinion however, in something as important as our worship of the one Almighty God I am sure that no one will disagree that we have to follow what our rabbi Yeshua taught us, irrespective of what we think is correct.
We can never escape the fact that Yeshua ben Yosef ha’Mashiach, as a Jew, was taught to follow Torah, likewise most of his apostles were Jew’s who did likewise.
For my part I will endeavour to follow in Yeshua’s footsteps with all my heart and I personally believe that this is what he meant when he told us to observe His commandments. (Please read John 15:10).
To me, as a spiritual Israelite, there is nothing more important than following Yeshua as closely as a sinful human can, our salvation depends upon it.
We know that our salvation can only be gained through the precious shed blood of our King and High Priest Yeshua ha’Mashiach, it is a free gift given to us by his God and ours to all those that remain in His love, there is nothing that we can do to earn salvation and the observation of Torah does not bring our salvation on its own.
Yeshua’s half-brother James most adequately describes the situation which we all find ourselves in, both Jew and gentile alike. We know that we can do nothing to earn our salvation however, our observance of Torah is a means that we demonstrate to others that we are following Yeshua, it also keeps us aware of our human fallibility and tendency to sin, for if we have no instruction or teaching (Torah) we, in effect have no sin and can do as we please.
I am in agreement with James when he tells us “Even so faith, if it have not works, is dead in itself. Yea, a man will say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith apart from thy works, and I by my works will show thee my faith.” James 2:17, 18. (ASV).
There are some sections of Torah that Yeshua rendered inapplicable, the instruction of animal sacrifice is obviously annulled by the actions of Yeshua when he performed the ultimate sacrifice once and for all time when he shed his precious blood as atonement for our sins. This is why we do not require a temple to worship.
Finally, we must always use discernment when considering our standing with Almighty God, pray for the Holy Spirit to guide us and search for the truth in the scriptures. We must never fall into the trap of trusting our own understanding (or that of any other errant human). Proverbs 3:5.
    We follow Torah not Talmud.
I pray you have you have love and peace.

" the instruction of animal sacrifice is obviously annulled by the actions of Yeshua"
Wrong. Jesus comes to RESTORE sacrifices (Mal.3:4).
      Sacrifices will return! (Zec.14;Eze.40-47;Jer.33;Is.66).
WE will again obey 100% of ALL Torah (Dt.30:1-8).
Paul condoned an animal-sacrifice laden vow (Ac.21); YOU should too (1Cor.11:1;Php.4:9).
THOUSANDS of believers were zealous for all Torah (Ac.21:20), thus including sacrifices.
Some believers were even animal-sacrificing priests! (Ac.6:7).
      NO Torah is terminated.
      ALL Torah is required (Mt.5:19;2Ti.3:16;1Jn.5:3).
Some Torah is simply presently unobservable in our present diaspora (Jas.1:1).
But we WILL again return and obey ALL Torah (Dt.30:1-8).

For the time will come when they will not put up with sound instruction(Torah) , but they will pile up for themselves teachers in keeping with their own desires, to have their ears tickled. 2 Timothy 4:3
And Jesus said to them, “Therefore every scribe (Torah teacher) who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like a head of a household, who brings out of his treasure things new and old.” Matthew 13:52
Regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things (Torah), in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures(Torah), to their own destruction. You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. 2 Peter 3:15‭-‬18
They put forward FALSE witnesses who said, “This man incessantly speaks against this holy place and the Law(Torah); for we have heard him say that this Nazarene, Jesus, will destroy this place and alter the customs (Torah) which Moses handed down to us.” Acts 6:13‭-‬14
“Thus says the Lord, ‘If you can break My COVENANT for the day and My COVENANT for the night, so that day and night will not be at their appointed time, then My COVENANT may also be broken with David My servant so that he will not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levitical priests, My ministers. Jeremiah 33:20‭-‬21
Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink (keeping biblical kosher) or in respect to a festival or a new moon (biblical festival observance) or a Sabbath day (keeping sabbath) Colossians 2:16
Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ (those who don't keep Torah) Matthew 7:22‭-‬23
‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me. But in vain do they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’ ” Matthew 15:8‭-‬9
For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.” Matthew 12:8

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. (This means to fill them up full of meaning ! To take what was written on tablets of stone and write them on the tablets of our hearts ! )
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

I think Christians & Catholic church just want to teach the subject in the Bible which is convenient, beneficial for the Priests/ pastors or church. There's a lot of rich priests & pastors but their members are mostly poor.. I. Lost but I surely, think that the TORAH is for ever human being in the world . Jesus said he did not come to abolished the law but to complete it. So, old new testament the Torah we must learn. I should go to Jewish church to learn the Torah.

Exodus 31:14 “Therefore you are to keep the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it must be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. 15 For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a Sabbath of complete rest [Exodus 20:8-11; Leviticus 23:1-3], holy to the Lord; whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death.“ (NASB)
Exodus 35:1 Then Moses assembled all the congregation of the sons of Israel, and said to them, “These are the things that the Lord has commanded you to do: 2 “For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy day, a Sabbath of complete rest to the Lord [Exodus 20:8-11; Leviticus 23:1-3]; whoever does any work on it shall be put to death.“ (NASB)
Numbers 15:32 Now while the sons of Israel were in the wilderness [Heb. midbar], they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day [Exodus 20:8-11; Leviticus 23:1-3]. 33 And those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation; 34 and they placed him in custody, because it had not been decided what should be done to him. 35 Then the Lord said to Moses, “The man must be put to death [Exodus 31:14-15; Exodus 35:1-2; Deuteronomy 27:26; Matthew 5:18]; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.” 36 So all the congregation [Heb. edah] brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death with stones, just as the Lord had commanded Moses. (NASB)
Hebrews 3:17 And with whom was He angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness [Heb. midbar]? 18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest [Psalm 95:11], but to those who were disobedient? (NASB)
Deuteronomy 27:26 “ ‘Cursed is anyone who does not fulfill the words of this Law by doing them.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’ “ (NASB)
Matthew 5:18 “For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away [Revelation 21], not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter shall pass from the Law, until all is accomplished!“ (NASB)
It's the ministry of death (Exodus 31:14-15; Exodus 35:1-2; Numbers 15:32-36; Deuteronomy 27:26; Matthew 5:18), engraved in letters on stones (2 Corinthians 3).

Please explain what Peter said in Acts 15, about a yoke that neither they nor their ancestors could bear. The question was specifically whether they must be circumcised and obey the Mosaic law for salvation. Peter said No. It is by the grace of the Lord Jesus. Jesus spoke of not placing new wine in old wine skins because if you do the old skins break and the wine pours out and is ruined. I interpret that as the New Covenant and the Old. The grace/freedom found in Christ can't be placed under the Old Covenant with its legalism.
Paul was clear that observing the law for salvation was contrary to faith in Christ. Romans 3:28.
Jesus did say to follow the commandments to obtain eternal life. He also said to take up your cross and follow Him.
Point: No human can keep the law perfectly. Therefore, we can't earn salvation by keeping the law. So, I have to believe Jesus was saying this to show the rich young ruler that he couldn't earn his salvation through observance of the law. So, when the ruler didn't get the point, Jesus introduces Himself, to sell all he has and come follow him. This showed the rich young ruler he wasn't actually keeping the law. He wasn't willing to love others as himself by selling all his possessions and giving to the poor. No one can follow the law perfectly, therefore we have all broken it. Therefore, no one will be found acceptable in God's sight by obeying the law. So, who can be saved?
Point 2: Christ was crucified to pay for our sins. James says that breaking one part of the law breaks it all. James 2:10. So, we can't use keeping the law as a means to salvation. We've all broken it multiple times. It is Christ's sacrifice that saves us, the unmerited mercy and grace found at the cross. Not observing the law.
Jeremiah 31:31 speaks of a New Covenant, not like the Mosaic Covenant.
I've experienced the richest measure of the Divine Presence. Ephesians 3:19 Amplified. This was 3 days in April of 1972. And it came by faith using the same theology as I'm stating here. I don't believe I'm in error.
During this time, I sensed God's love, security and peace very intensely. I prayed for the salvation of a college student, Jim, who I had witnessed to a week or two prior. As I prayed, God told me through the Holy Spirit that Jim was going to be saved.. I didn't know how or when but it was certain what God has told me. A few months later, while signing into the boy's dorm to get a room for the Fall semester, someone whispered my name. I turned to see who it was. It was Jim. He said he'd been saved during the summer and would I meet with him and teach him how to pray and study the Bible. So we became friends and I discipled him that semester as best I knew how. I was only 22 years old. Jim graduated that semester. God had set that up as a divine appointment for both of us.
There have been other experiences. I don't believe my theology in in error. God has shown up a number of times in experience and not faith only.

The two laws Jesus teaches are Love God the Father in all our ways and to Love those around us as we would be loved. This would explain why a Christian would not kill or worship an idol. Beyond that, Jesus teaches that the moral law still exists as sin which we must repent of and learn to avoid. This is how the Christian observes the Torah: By understanding that Jesus is the Torah made flesh.

@@mosherosenthal4321 no they don't, that was a command so that they were protected from and separated from Caananites who would enslave and force into alsorts of immorality and man on man bloodsports but they Had to be intact, being circumcised meant they would not be permitted to participate either voluntary or by force. And unless you have a time machine to be circumcised at 8 days You can't fulfil that anyway. This very question was raised and recorded in the new testament and answered that no circumcision is not necessary. There is no rule that you can't do it if you wish, but I also believe God designed the body and this was a command to separate out at a certain time.

The question is stated wrong: do “Christians HAVE TO keep Torah”?the heart of a person asking that question is wrong! It’s like saying, did Yeshua HAVE TO die for our sins? No one HAS TO do anything! We are all free moral agents given the ability to choose. So in that sense no you don’t HAVE TO keep Torah! Think about Eve, she was given the commandment not to eat the fruit, if she did, YHWH told her she would die. There is the command and if broken there is a consequence and if obeyed there is a reward. So was Eve incapable of eating the fruit, obviously not, and because she did, she received the consequence of disobedience. Same with Torah, there is a blessing for doing Torah, and a curse for breaking the Torah. People don’t understand the nature of the Father and that we should have an obedient heart realizing the goodness of YHWH, that He wants us blessed and not cursed. Following Him from a heart that wants to please father YHWH, not because we HAVE TO! Why does a father say be home at 11, or eat your supper? Because that’s what is good and safe for the child! To say do I HAVE TO KEEP TORAH, comes from a rebellious heart. For what it’s worth.
My question for you Monte is - why do you have a yamika on your head? That’s not in Torah.

I'd advise you to simply read the Word and obey. It can be easy to get all stressed and hung up about everything, but it's a work in progress - a little bit by a little bit. Hello Keri, I'm glad that you have Christ! Congrats! I hope that your faith in him remains strong. In relation to your question, I just wanted to throw in a little pebble to say that it's important to remember that the 613 laws (instructions) is only a man made estimate. However, those instructions are for an entire civilization. This includes instructions for Kings, Courts, Wartime, Priests, and many other categories of people and events. The actual number of instructions that you'll run into in day to day life is only a subsection of that number (So don't stress!). If you've been led to keep the Torah (the instructions), remember to take it in small humble steps. Begin with one instruction at a time, and slowly learn and progress in your own spiritual journey. I agree with Marcus G, some of the best education in the word will come by simply reading it through and through. If you're looking for an educational resource, I'd recommend www.119ministries.com/ . They put together some great material for people interested in the Laws. On a more personal theological level, does the scripture indicate that we should keep the instructions? Yes. Absolutely. 100%. However, it is not a burden, nor is it in any way unpleasant. I say this from many many years of experience. It has been only joy in my life. Consider the words of Deuteronomy 10:12-13, which state that the instructions given were for our good (And good they have been to me!). I wish you well on your journey to find truth.

Issac Droblyn thank you so much for all of your help and I really hope God Almighty continue to bless you and your family. I think the part I struggle the most with is connecting Christ with the Law. I know He says if we love Him we will keep His commands and I promise you I want to love Him with everything I have. He saved my life {literally} and gave me a reason to live. I just don't want to fall or mess up and be cursed. But I can say my brother, when I read Deu, I didn't understand why people celebrated Halloween and no even Easter and Christmas and not keep the Jewish festivals in scripture. I just pray to be broken from the you are free in Christ to do whatever you want. Thank you so much for the advice. It REALLY means a lot. I just don't want to take my eyes off Jesus you know.

@MAS84 thank you my family for your response, but after truly seeking God Almighty on this matter in prayer and He answered me through Scripture. His will is for us to walk in Torah after Faith in Messiah. The Law will NOT save us what so ever. Jesus freed us from the Law of Sin and Death, not His Holy Law that will never pass away. The Law was never given as a means to receive salvation, but rather how to live as Holy people of God Almighty. After really reading the NT and Jesus life, He kept the Law. He kept Sabbath, and He kept the feast and my family Christmas or Easter aren't found in Scripture. How can we impact the world if we look like and celebrate as they do, eat as they do and ect. Paul told us to imitate God as dear children. After I prayed, I was lead by the Holy Spirit to read Luke (which I had never read) and in Chapter 1:6 blew my mind. I was beyond shocked God Almighty would answer me and let alone with my favorite person from the Holy Scriptures (besides Jesus), John the Baptist. Our Lord said His parents walked blameless and kept ALL the ordinances. I say and advise you to go to Our Father on this matter in prayer and really mean it with your heart and be willing to do WHATEVER the Father says do ❤️🙏 He will show you Truth, like He did for me. And remember family, He said in the end times, BECAUSE of LAWLESSNESS, the love of many would grow cold and lawlessness is transgression of the Law. We are at the door to His return and He is waking MANY people up to His real truth that was lost in greed and simple not understanding Scriptures. I always thought it funny how churches kept the Tithing Law, but not none of the others and than tie it to Abraham tithing to the high Priest Melchizedek, but God gave Adam a Law, don't eat from the tree of Knowledge of good and evil. He broke that Law and was punished for it, being banished from the garden. Shalom my family

When we are obedient to Jesus we fulfill torah through him not on our own.

You mean when we are obedient to God. Right? Because not even Jesus can add or subtract from the Torah law. Therefore there is nothing new to obey.

So it was with Elijah and the widow. When Jesus told this to his hometown they tried to stone him.

@@tactup23 Jesus is the fulfilment of the torah law. He is the law. He is the torah. Jesus is God! He was 100% man because of the flesh but 100% God by his spirit! Acts 4:12 there is no other name guven unto men to be saved. Salvation is by no other.

@@asphaltking3648Huh? That didn't really answer my question. Are you saying by obeying the Torah laws we are being obedient to Jesus because he is the law?

@@qazyman I have no idea what this means. Did Jesus have different laws/commandments for us to obey?
