Hey, I am not 100% sure, but this is how it works. That bird on the tree is yellow. ( This is a demonstrative adjective since "that" is modifying the noun ( just like an adjective). And: That one is brown. ( This is a demonstrative pronoun since you're referring to something previously said, in this case, the 'bird'). I Hope, it helped!

Whose pen is this? Whose is this pen? The first one is interrogative adjective and the second one is interrogative pronoun. Just simply place the noun in front of the first word (which,what etc)
