- In this video, I discussed about my work experience as MTS in income tax department. And also i discussed about ssc mts job profile, work nature, promotions, transfers and salary.
SSC MTS Exam is a national level exam held for recruitment of personnel in General Group-C Central Service non-ministerial and non-gazetted posts in various departments, ministries, and offices of the Government of India.
SSC MTS recruitment is organized by the Staff Selection Commission for various posts such as:
Peon
Gardner
Daftary
Jamadar
Junior Gestetner Operator
Chowkidar
Safaiwala, etc.
SSC MTS Salary After 7th Pay Commission
SSC MTS is a Group C non-gazetted, general Central Government service. It is a non-ministerial post with pay band 1(5200 - 20200) + the Grade Pay of 1800 rupees.
After the application of the 7th pay commission, not only the SSC MTS salary but the salaries of all the government employees increased by almost 20%. The take-home SSC MTS salary is approximately between 18,000 - 22,000/. However, the salary of SSC MTS varies depending on various factors such as location, allowances, etc.
SSC MTS In-Hand Salary
Now that candidates are well aware of the SSC MTS in-hand salary, gross salary and basic pay, it is important for candidates to know that there is a certain deduction in the total salary of SSC MTS employees. These deductions are:
Income Tax (based on the tax slab)
Employee’s Provident Fund
Profession tax (depending upon the city)
Gratuity
SSC MTS Perks & Benefits Apart From Salary
Candidates who clear the SSC MTS exam and join as SSC Multi-Tasking Staff are entitled to numerous benefits and perks apart from the regular salary and allowances. Below given are various benefits and perks enjoyed by the SSC Muti-Tasking Staff over the monthly salary.
Pension Scheme - the pension scheme acts as complete insurance as it will be available till death.
Post Retirement Benefit - the advantage of being a government employee is that the person gets to enjoy life after retirement with numerous benefits such as Salary arrears, Provident Fund, Gratuity, etc.
Medical Benefits - All the employees working as SSC MTS get the medical coverage for themselves and their families.
The perks or benefits that are mentioned above for the SSC MTS employees are in common for other government employees as well.
During the probation period, the MTS employees are given fewer perks and lesser allowances. SSC MTS probation period is for 2 years and is mandatory for the employees to serve.
Q.1. What is SSC MTS grade pay?
Ans. The SSC MTS grade pay of Multitasking is Rs. 1800/-.
Q.2. What is the pay band of SSC Salary?
Ans. The pay band for SSC MTS posts in Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200).
Q.3. What is the SSC MTS Salary?
Ans. The starting salary of SSC MTS is between 17000 to 21000 depending upon the location of posting.
Q.4. Who sets the salary of SSC Multitasking Staff?
Ans. The Staff Selection Commission sets the SSC Multitasking-Salary.
Q 5. What is the Job Profile od SSC MTS?
Ans. The job profile includes peon, safety, jamadar, Safaiwalla, mali, operator, etc.
Q 6. Do the employees of SSC MTS get pension after retirement?
Ans. Yes, the candidates selected in Multitasking staff are entitled to a pension after their retirement.
SSC MTS Career Growth
The employees working as SSC multitasking Staff are entitled to various types of increments under the Pay Band I scheme:
Promotional Increment
Annual increment
Increment in terms of positions and responsibilities
Through departmental examination, an SSC MTS can be promoted to LDC, even if the employee does not appear for the exam. After the completion of 5-6 years of service he will by default be promoted as LDC depending upon the vacancies.
Any MTS employee who is LDC after clearing the exams can again be promoted to UDC by giving another department examination. Or else, he might be promoted by default on completion of stipulated term of service.
Not just this, an MTS employee with exceptional years of service can retire holding a Gazetted rank or under the Secretary Level in extraordinary cases.
