Want to get a video doorbell, but don't want to pay the prices the one named after what a telephone does when it's called? PLACUY now makes a video doorbell. It's thoughtfully designed with easy installation. If someone tries to take it, it has an alarm built in that will sound, and notify you on your phone.
You simply get the CloudEdge app, and the setup is very similar to a smart outlet or wifi plug. The base station will chime inside the house. You can insert a microSD card up to 128GB into the base station and it will record, or you can purchase cloud storage for it. Of course it has an intruder alarm and two way audio. Of course it sends notifications to your device, which can all be adjusted.
The battery is rated to last about 2-3 months, so you'd only need to charge about 4-6 times a year. Set up a regimen, like every change of season, to remember easiest. When it's time to recharge, remove the doorbell, and it recharges via an included USB-C type cable. The camera also has night vision, which can also be turned off.

Nice doorbell camera. The voice speaker on your phone was Sally. You can change voice pitches in it as well.

Setup for this one was abysmal. It worked fine once connected.

@@jaykay18 Every time I hear "Ooga Booga" it reminds me of the zoo keeper film guy on Hiliarous House of Frightenstein. It was a Canadian show from the 70s, but repeated for years, probably just for Canadian tv content credits or something. Not sure if it got seen a lot in the US, but wiki says it made it to some markets, and when it's on the interwebs it has to be true. Definitely worth a googlily-doo for those deprived of seeing it before, even just for the Vincent Price soliloquies. :-)

@@jaykay18 Also, great review by the way. Looks like a decent alternative to another cama lama ding-dong, especially for the price.

@@MarkNF82 Never seen nor heard of that. Didn't make it's way to NY. Another show that didn't was the Red Green Show, though my friend in Michigan has known that one well.
Only Vincent Price thing I know was his narration in Michael Jackson's Thriller, which of course I used to listen to on vinyl!

@@MarkNF82 Thanks. Setup was a bit more daunting than it appeared, it forces you to have a strong wifi signal to be able to even continue. So unless you have that by your front door, you're not going to be in for a good time. Most I know deal with subpar speeds.
