I still remember when I was 6 and my dog Flash, my first dog of my own, died due to Parvo. I'd only had him a couple years. 39 years later and I still miss him. RIP Maui.

My mom had a seemingly perfectly healthy cat who was 12 that laid down one day and passed in her sleep. It's hard when they are young and you can't understand what happened. But i'm sure Maui felt the love in the time he was there!!

Amber keep them in a box. Me and my sister found a box of letters our parents wrote to each other when then were still dating and after they were married. They both passed early in life. So it's super special to have.
My dad passed in 2004 and mom passed away in 2018 at 85. My mom and dad wrote to each other every day while he on his last tour to Vietnam in 1967-1968. He made it home with all of my mom’s letters and they along with his to her were put in a box in the garage. A couple years later during a move the box of letters didn’t make it. When my mom asked, he said they were too painful to keep. Marines like my dad and men in general were taught to keep their hurts buried deep inside. After he got back he wouldn’t talk to anyone about the things that had happened over there. In fact, it wasn’t until after I joined the service in 1976 and was stationed at an Air Force base in California that he opened up a little. Our base had begun to receive the remains of soldiers that hadn’t made it home. That’s when I learned that of the five buddies that went from his unit in 1967; he was the only one who came home. He also felt that, “If you weren’t there to see all the HELL we went through, you can’t possibly understand how we feel.” Back then they didn’t ask for help and those that did were diagnosed with “shell shock” and given antipsychotic and drugs for depression that made them feel lethargic. My dad just suppressed his feelings and felt with his survivors quilt the best he could. That’s why he threw away the letters. It hurt my mom’s feelings but she had him which is more than some women. I’m sorry for getting off track so much. What I wanted to tell you is that after she passed, I found a couple of letters he wrote her a few months into that last tour of duty talking about meeting her in Hawaii at his six month break. I don’t know if she knew these letters had survived or not but I hope she did. His love for her poured out on those pages made me cry. I also made a wonderful choice when I married my husband, Danny. We’ve been together since 1999 and have been married since January of 2002. He likes to tell everyone we’ve been married since 1999 because that’s when God brought me into his life. Before I retired, he would send me flowers to work with very sweet romantic notes. My female coworkers used to joke about him giving their husbands lessons on romance. So sorry to here about Maui. We had a kitten and another younger cat we got last June that were barn cats. The kitten was learning from the other cat and got hit by a car really early in the morning back last September while they were headed to the field to hunt. Then in December we lost our 14 year old Cockalier dog and last month our other cat was found behind the barn in the snow like he layed down to take a nap and had passed. Our kids (8yr and 4yr) have taken all 3 losses really hard. No matter how long you are blessed to have them in your life it is still hard. I can only imagine how hard sweet London is taking it. I don’t see one much but when I do it’s always days where I miss my grandmother. (One showed up on her birthday this year). ❤️✝️
When my mom died I got her cards she saved them all from the years she married at a very young age past at 87 I keep mine too. There is such a blessing in memories. It was great to see your smile as you recalled!
Sorry for the loss of Maui. I know how hard it is for a child to loss a pet. My little girl still cries that she missing a cat that we had to put down in mid 2022.

Maui has crossed the Rainbow Bridge she can now play with our Pita, Eeek, Diva and Bella the last three all passed within 6 months of each other for totally different reasons.
So sorry to hear about Maui. I am a Vet Tech and any time a relatively young cat loses a bunch of weight, there is worry for FIP. Did your vet do more blood work than just the FELV/FIV test? Hard to say, but that could have been what was going on. It is usually fatal, unfortunately, except for a treatment that is very controversial as of right now, but I know personally of cats that are now considered cured.

the dogs have got a few as well. our biggest problem is the dang mink. they are brutal. we have several mink farms around us and when they escape they come straight for the poor chicken heads. luckily our dogs are awesome at taking care of that mink problem for us when we aren't here. y'all came to visit in Utah that's awesome wish we could have seen ya. keep it up much love!!

My peach gobbler is easy if You would love or to try: one large can peaches, 1 stick unsalted butter, put in oven on 350 degrees until butter is melted. Combine 1 c.milk, 1 egg, 1c sugar, 1c self rising flour 1 tea. Vanilla Favor. Mix together ingredients and Add into baking pan with peaches & butter bake 350 for 1 hour or until brown. Awwww I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of Maui - I bet London was absolutely heartbroken! I would be too! I hope Butter makes a full recovery. Amber-I hope you’re able to get some sleep soon! Gosh, those babies love to keep you awake, I don’t know how you do it…you’re one strong woman! I occasionally leave my husband notes and I always get him a card for every holiday. We’ve been together 4.5 years and married 15 months. I love cards and it means so much to me when he gets me one! We’ll usually leave each other notes if one of us goes out of town! My nephew took his 5 year doggie to the vet. They gave him a new heartworm/flea pill. Less than 2 days later he was dead. Was perfectly healthy prior to that. Of course the vet won't say the medication caused it. But lets face it, we don't know what all chemicals are in medications we give our pets. It's not FDA regulated. Sorry for London had to go through that loss again. We all know how much she loves her animals. PS...I think Maverick is starting to like seeing himself on camera. So cute.

the dogs have got a few as well. our biggest problem is the dang mink. they are brutal. we have several mink farms around us and when they escape they come straight for the poor chicken heads. luckily our dogs are awesome at taking care of that mink problem for us when we aren't here. y'all came to visit in Utah that's awesome wish we could have seen ya. keep it up much love!!

My peach gobbler is easy if You would love or to try: one large can peaches, 1 stick unsalted butter, put in oven on 350 degrees until butter is melted. Combine 1 c.milk, 1 egg, 1c sugar, 1c self rising flour 1 tea. Vanilla Favor. Mix together ingredients and Add into baking pan with peaches & butter bake 350 for 1 hour or until brown. Love your channel. So, I love your example of writing love note to each other. My grandparents left a legacy for me and my cousins by writing love letters during WWII. Their letters started a camp in Texas for kids…Sky Ranch.

Awwww I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of Maui - I bet London was absolutely heartbroken! I would be too! I hope Butter makes a full recovery. Amber-I hope you’re able to get some sleep soon! Gosh, those babies love to keep you awake, I don’t know how you do it…you’re one strong woman! I occasionally leave my husband notes and I always get him a card for every holiday. We’ve been together 4.5 years and married 15 months. I love cards and it means so much to me when he gets me one! We’ll usually leave each other notes if one of us goes out of town! Until Thursday-I hope Amber gets some sleep and YEE YEE!

So sorry to hear about Maui :( Loosing a pet is always so hard!!
My nephew took his 5 year doggie to the vet. They gave him a new heartworm/flea pill. Less than 2 days later he was dead. Was perfectly healthy prior to that. Of course the vet won't say the medication caused it. But lets face it, we don't know what all chemicals are in medications we give our pets. It's not FDA regulated. Sorry for London had to go through that loss again. We all know how much she loves her animals. PS...I think Maverick is starting to like seeing himself on camera. So cute.
