you're right about the mentality, when I'm in ranked I get around 2-3 kills early game and then 2-3 endgame and finish with around 5-7 kills average, that's only coz I'm scared, a few times I had to go offline so I just fought everyone in sight and I ended up top 11 with 13 kills in champ lobbies, I'm pretty sure I would've won if I didn't have to go
True, like if someone stars to attack me the other person will start to attack me too even if the other guy is just standing there spraying and is basically a free kill.
I know I am a random person but I can confirm playing with better players makes you better and or makes you put the effort to reach/higher level skill. When I played csgo 4 years ago I made some friends in custom servers who were 5-6 ranks higher and playing with them taught me to get better and play slower. Plus watching pros that have a opposite play style from yours can help just think how you think they would be thinking during the fight, rotation, or loot pathing. It could be a matter of few minutes that could change your game that one guy who is faster at looting and rotates into you who has not looted quick enough or has any mats. Your chances are low but doesnt mean you should play like you will lose always try to win every fight and know to take or leave a fight that is hard to learn personally I need to improve on that aspect of fighting (ego gets in the way). Also have fun with it if you are making it stressful or like a job you most likely won't stick to it, can say I made it stressful on myself and I had to quit because I was really in a bad state. I know I rambled about this but hope this helps someone who is trying to get better at fortnite or any game really!

That goes for any game, or any activity, even if its just professional boxing. Professional boxers often spend literally hours focused on one thing, thats technically dedication right there, people just gotta put in the work if they wanna get good at fortnite, I oftenly meet some 10 year olds in fortnite voice chat, they wonder how I'm so good at fortnite, I give them every tip of advice, and they don't listen. All I hear, is "But its too hard" I'm like bruh its supposed to be like that, then they all of a sudden say, "I don't wanna be good anymore, I just wanna play the game for fun" I be like bruh
biggest thing that helped me transfer my skills was the og map coming back, i didnt have to worry about any stupid meta and just focus on my fighting in game

Thank you for this video, Im an returning OG from chapter 1 and I got to unreal with good aim and chapter 1 mechanics, I've been practicing all of the new stuff in creative and it has been hard to do the same in real games
If you’re unreal then you don’t suck at ranked (unless you’re camping the whole game). Don’t expect to play the same way in ranked as you do in creative, ranked is a lot less mechanics based than creative is.
as someone who plays on high ping, one way that i have forced myself to improve in actual games is to set my server location to be one that gives me a higher ping to practice the consistency and not speed. for ex i am on NA east but will do things like raiders map on west, so that when i load into an actual game at 30 ping, it isn't a huge difference, if anything it can feel better vs practicing on 40-50 ping in creative. would love your thoughts on this.

When I would play like I am some kid that thinks he is good building in creative but is terrible.
Whats has always worked for me in every game for inly editing and building you want to make your speed 1.5-2x speed. So when you go to 1x it feels easy and you get better faster
A couple of seasons ago all I played was 1v1 box fights and was stuck in diamond 3 but this season I started doing 1v1 zone wars and build fights and got myself to unreal
Hey Marren you should make a video on how to juggle work and or school and trying to grind the game and go pro i’m sure it will do well with a majority of your fan base is either in school or working or both
I'm not a pro but I can offer my opinion. The skill level needed to go pro would more than likely require you to sacrifice your school/work in order to succeed. Of course it's possible and I wish you the best of luck but in my opinion it is not worth sacrificing your work/school/life to attempt to be a pro. Gl tho man

one part i mainly struggle with is i play with players in my friend group who are way better than me but i struggle with learning skills when practicing with plays too much better than me TL:DR: i can get better when playing with players wayy better than me
The only reason i cant do the things i do in creative in the real game is because i have 50-60 more ping and average like 40 fps and my graphics are all the way low. However, in creative, i run smooth 100 fps and 20 ping. its so annoying knowing that i cant do anything because my game is too laggy and choppy to even see what im trying to build

im 30 ping creative and 60 in game i already use gearup boost ethernet i have a 1 gig network card ive optimized everything so its difficult to transfer all my skill im not even bad at in game im good just not as good i got cooper mechs decent god aim in creative but in game i have to lead my shots with the ping so i just dont hit hard and my mechs are so much worse i just have to rely on my tracking and line up my pump shots to be good
I feel you on that because I don’t try to compete in real-game building, if I can’t edit same on creative. So, I just practice on my aim to get my kills instead trying to peace control them with the input delay and ping.

Creative players do bad in game because they overbuild and try do retakes in build fights all you need to win in real game is good understanding of piece control and decent mechanics

You get 30 in game? That’s good on Oce I get that and I play fast and consistent
Just practice on NA Central if you are going to play tourneys/cash cups. No point in going all the way to West ping just to 'feel' the difference.
