The movement is gorgeous, if you want something similar from Switzerland, I think your only option is a Patek or something even pricier. Isn’t that crazy?
I was hoping you would let us hear the sound of the manual movement being wound up. A little sad I didn't get to see and hear it in action, there's not enough closeups and real life sound tests of it in action yet =(
The slgh005 has the date on it. I despise those in occasional-wear watches. I want to grab wind, set and go. Messing with the date every time is a pain. This watch is just about my ideal dress watch.
Rose gold one is lovely. But pricing nuts (particularly wth just a leather strap). That said, when you look at the ludicrous prices some other brands are charging for gold watches, I guess everything is relative - e.g. senda gold Speedy with green dial on leather strap is a similar price. Breitling seems to sell some gold watch/leather bracelet options - like the Premier - for more “sensible” money. Personally, if I was in the market to scratch the gold-itch, I’d buy vintage (as I have in the recent past - lovely vintage datejust, excellent condition, full gold (including bracelet) for just over A$20k. I know vintage gold bracelets have less material in them, but even so, they can still look stunning).
It's because of the material used. Brilliant Hard Titanium, which is twice as strong as the stainless steel, and brighter than other titanium. GS also uses another grade of titanium, the High Intensity titanium.
@@leerobin68 Ah, thank you for this. I didn't realize that this was a different titanium than GS's other titanium watches. I think I'll be waiting for a new manually wound Spring Drive movement in this dress style with this new Titanium.
@@scottwhitethebestyou obviously have not owned their new base movement this one is based upon. Good luck going near anything slightly magnetic such as say loudspeakers. Cheers
Grand Seikos biggest Problem ist the Big fat sized case. until they dont fix it i will never buy one of these. Yes, they have the Most beautiful Dials ,a perfect Finish and nice movements....but they have to make the watches smaller by reducing lug to lug and for sure thinner
Don't get me wrong they are beautiful watches but grand seiko seems to be forgetting their place. They're in rolex territory and priced more than most omegas
@nikey9595 not at all, I love grand seiko but they simply aren't a brand on the same level as rolex. They've always been the significantly more consumer friendly option known for being a great value in the luxury watch space. Them pushing pricing this high only alienates their core consumers.
The time is coming where GS won’t be offering options in lower price points. Pound for pound they’re superior watches to most of the Swiss industry under $15k. Yeah the lack of brand awareness is not the best still, but that shouldn’t be a consideration in pricing.
@@prstitoi need them to stay below the radar until i complete my acquisitions. No need for the flexors and followers to jump on this band wagon, yet. Same with Moser
That movement is beautiful
Absolutely gorgeous watches and beautiful content by Time & Tide again. Thank you
Putting the power reserve indicator on the back is brilliant.

Beautiful piece but the rose gold version’s price is scandalous. Absolutely ridiculous.
GS always prices their precious metal models pretty high. In my opinion only models use Micro Artist Studio movements are worth the premium.
Fully agree, no reasonable way to justify the price. Its stupid
All i want is a micro adjustment bracelet. Grand seiko aint it.
With 80 pieces, they are meant for 5711 buyers.
@@TheBrah808 What's funny to me is that they justify the lack of micro adjustments as a design choice.

Absolutely beautiful watches
Incredible proportions
Astounding movement
But those prices are ridiculous especially for the gold
I absolutely love these watches. Beautiful dials. Just can’t justify the cost. And how does Marcus sound so good even with a cold?

The titanium price on strap is crazy, the RG is insane!!! 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🙏
What size & price?.
Is it available in the store now?.

don't understand the pricing, why is it more expensive than the automatic version that comes with metal bracelet?
Agreed. Would have bought it if it was a bit cheaper.. sad

I have the spring drive white birch. I also have a hi-beat in the SLGH013. Spring drive is my favourite
Damn fine watches
Nice 20mm lugs. Now put them on the automatic ones.
For people who complain for the price of the gold one, they are meant for “if you have to ask…” clienteles, lol.
*20mm lugwidth makes it worth it, I'm getting mine at Beverly Hills GS in August, It's already paid for.*
hope it is 40mm
GS not calling this a straight dress watch is a disservice
They should have made it water-resistant to a 100m and given it better anti-magnetic properties.
This really would be my style choice for when I’m swap sea diving in an MRI machine.

Black leather strap is been put on the wrong way
No, it's just the Japanese way (clean side facing others). It's a culture things rather than a right / wrong thing.
