I literally only know Torrid from Nisipisa’s window shopping, so it’ll probably forever be the “jersey fabric and outdated trends” store to me (I buy from the thrift store though, so I’d never shop from anywhere like that anyways tbh. My town doesn’t have much shopping and all the stores sell are all polyester anyway, so unless it’s something like a workout singlet, merch, or something specific, I just buy second hand or wear what I already have. Those thrift stores can be terrible though. There’s literally none in my university’s town and then they won’t carry inclusive size options, so I literally could never judge someone for buying new at a normal rate, especially when I can get all the cute clothes once they’re out of trend and durability tested)
Hundreds upon hundreds of memories of frustrated clothes shopping rushed to my brain at "I'll just take anything in my size". That is so real. And then you finally get something and it doesn't even look good 💀
I’ll never understand why they can’t make plus size clothes JUST NORMAL CLOTHES BUT BIGGER. They always add ruffles or a cold shoulder or make it long. Just make the exact same thing BIGGER.
I'm a straight sized person and I am baffled for you too. It doesn't make any sense. It's not as if they can't hire a pattern maker to modify the patterns to better fit plus sized people. It's not rocket science. Either they're fatphobic or too cheap to properly grade and resize their designs. Or both. :(
Because most clothing companies have a base size 2 so when they size it up it doesn't translate because the size 2 doesn't take the natural curves that occur with plus size bodies. That's why some things look cute on the skinny girl and ends up looking like a shapeless tent when the just make it bigger. If companies started with a more average base size like a 12 or 14 as they size it up it will stay proportionate. I recommend everyone get their clothes tailored if they can.
Stores by stock based on what sells. They can’t afford to keep plus sizes in stock because they will never make money off of them. They cost more to produce, they don’t fit the same way as straight sizes so don’t sell as well, they don’t have as many people buying in store either and they take up room from clothes that do sell. It’s like asking why McDonald’s doesn’t have as many salads on their menu as burgers. They won’t sell.
People always talk about how great Torrid is, but almost every single dress there is like some boho maternity shit with an empire waist. How about just making a regular dress?
A friend and I went clothes shopping for an event we were both attending. She insisted on going to second hand shops (which never have plus sized clothing in my town). After her buying a bunch of stuff and me not finding anything, I asked if we could go to New Look cause they at least have a plus sized section and she went "Oh actually I'm too tired now and need to go home to sort my new clothes" :/ I ended up not finding anything for the event...

I’m guessing it’s just outdated and not modeled with plus sizing in mind. Plus, stretch fabrics are such a common way to make things fit without tailoring them to the body, but they can be so unflattering. I think the plus size garments will get cute when they’re able to be designed by designers that understand the plus size body and have the corporate support to develop new garments with plus size forms in mind. (Which hopefully they’ll do soon. It’d be nice to expand to new, undersaturated markets, and could also be useful for people who like tailoring)
Understand your body type and where your fat distribution is wanting to go. Learn how to dress for your size (it’s easier than it sounds I promise) and you’ll get away with so many super cute outfits because you know what to look for. When I’m really bloated I go for high waisted but loose fitting skirts and crop tops. The A line from the skirt and the short top make my waist look thinner and my tummy less obvious. ❤ best wishes.

yea, everyone is conspiring against the big girls. Sewing, stores, the marriage market, biology...the whole world is just thinking about how to harm you.
same. I’m skinny and tall (think Minecraft enderman) and finding pants that fit me right but don’t fall down without a belt is rough. I do wear a belt a lot, but when I do my pants look bunchy around the waist because of how skinny my waist is compared to my long legs. Humans aren’t one proportion!!
I'm short (5'1), I have thick thighs and a smaller waist. Trying to find pants is impossible, because the thigh parts are either too tight or the waist is way too loose. And when both of those parts are just perfect, the pants are way too long 😭😭
This is why big girls many times look like they're wearing tents. It's either way too big or small enough for Thumbelina. So we opt for too big. A hat, earrings, anything to dress something up.
While I'm not plus size I totally relate to the heaviness of entering a clothing store with with total appreciation and cynicism. As a hijabi usually I'd buy anything as long as it's long and wide enough, actually liking a piece of clothing is a farfetched fantasy.
The day in my weight loss journey that I did not buy a piece of clothes, not because it didn't fit me but simply because I did not like it and I cried tears of joy in the store's changing room
That’s amazing, congrats to both of you in this thread! Weight loss can take a lot of effort and perseverance, and the fact that you were able to do so is a testament to your dedication.
I'm just looking for wherever they're selling the stomach covering part to all the clothes that are hanging at every store. And why are they asking full price for half a shirt? WHERE ARE THE MIDRIFFS AT? Are they being held hostage? Is there some way to negotiate for them so that my only choice isn't just a big t-shirt that still somehow feels like it's strangling me?
I felt that anything in my size. I’m so tall there are never any pants my length and apparently tall people can’t also be skinny in the stores I frequent 🤦🏽♀️.
Right. Fat people can't be short. Whenever I found clothes for my perimeter, it was for someone 30cm taller than me. Can't clothes company realise that there exist many sizes in the world?
This. I’m 6’1” and 143 pounds. When I go shopping I can’t find anything that fits. They assume if you’re tall you’re also the size of a house. It’s ridiculous.
@@KateSmith-h2fSame but I’m 5’9” and 110lbs. I can’t wear dress pants without them looking lumpy at the waist because of how much I had to adjust them with a belt.

I HATE Aritzia. My friends dragged me to one in the 10th grade and it genuinely caused me to redevelop bulimia I’d managed to get control of previous to the trip.
This is also pretty damn depressing. When I worked at a clothing store for adult women, it was a tad bit easier to work around heavier women, we had larger sizes. It was women who were very, very thin who were just out of luck. It was hardest when they would come in after cancer treatment and just not be able to buy the clothes they wanted

Background: I have ME/CFS and fibro which make it extremely difficult to leave my room, let alone the house. Shopping is exhausting and it will leave me in a crashed physical state for several days- and that's with going on a good day. I have a complicated relationship with clothing. My proportions are a nightmare. Others tell me I'm very small or petite, but I don't see it. I feel like a thundering pigmy rhino bopping around the clearance section at Target. My chonky little legs, big hips and belly, and of course the boobs that could take someone out...yeah no. "Petite" doesn't fit the vibe. I gained weight VERY quickly (145 to 240lbs in less than six months!) and so I never got to know this new body as it grew. Suddenly NOTHING fit and I was left with nothing but PJ pants and some old t-shirts. I gave up on wearing jeans almost immediately and embraced the legging life. I could always trust my leggings to fit me, even as my weight fluctuated wildly. Bras were also forgotten and I just wear sports bras to keep the boobs from running wild. Various factors have caused me to start losing weight, so I just recently broke 200 and hit 195lbs. Maybe I will be able to get my old clothes out at some point?

Learn how to dress for your size (it’s easier than it sounds I promise) and you’ll get away with so many super cute outfits because you know what to look for. When I’m really bloated I go for high waisted but loose fitting skirts and crop tops. The A line from the skirt and the short top make my waist look thinner and my tummy less obvious. ❤ best wishes.
@@zeauhhhzYeah, how dare those plus-sized women want nice clothes. 🙄 Don’t they know they should accept being unfashionable as a punishment for their body type? /s
@@zeauhhhzYeah, I agree, we really need to put more pressure on the fashion industry to hire models of varying sizes. It's not just dangerous to the models to encourage them to be dangerously skinny, it's also just lazy on the part of the designers
@@rosesweetcharlotte i did mean with loosing weight, like if you’re so insecure about how big or small you are then you’re the only one whom can change that
but yeah i guess that works as well
People that make women’s clothing don’t want “big girls” to have pretty clothes. lol at the wedding gown market. Just because you are a bigger girl doesn’t mean you can’t be beautiful on your wedding day.
yea, everyone is conspiring against the big girls. Sewing, stores, the marriage market, biology...the whole world is just thinking about how to harm you.
Omg so true!! 😂
Hey, I’m here to remind you that you are so loved. Jesus died for you bro, you matter!! Keep fighting, it’ll all be okay. Remember that. ❤️❤️
Yeah I totally love shopping at stores where the only thing I'm allowed to buy are socks and hair clips.
This is all my stages of shopping for pants as a tall person.
And when both of those parts are just perfect, the pants are way too long 😭😭
Omg you both are so beautiful!!!! I'm officially in love 😍😍😍
And that's why ( also other non weight related reason) I hate shopping and legit have to mentally prepare myself.
So fucking relatable & hilarious
I have found more +Size places online than anyplace and am getting such pretty clothes!
This is why big girls many times look like they're wearing tents. It's either way too big or small enough for Thumbelina. So we opt for too big. A hat, earrings, anything to dress something up.
The hat comment sent me 😂
This is why I'm so happy that I'm right in-between the regular and plus sizes
While I'm not plus size I totally relate to the heaviness of entering a clothing store with with total appreciation and cynicism. As a hijabi usually I'd buy anything as long as it's long and wide enough, actually liking a piece of clothing is a farfetched fantasy.
I used to weigh 140 at 17 and Japanese's sizing hit hard so i had to lose like 20 pounds-
The day in my weight loss journey that I did not buy a piece of clothes, not because it didn't fit me but simply because I did not like it and I cried tears of joy in the store's changing room
Same, it felt like pure joy and freedom to buy what I wanted to because it looked good on me and I like it, instead of what simply fit my body.
That’s amazing, congrats to both of you in this thread! Weight loss can take a lot of effort and perseverance, and the fact that you were able to do so is a testament to your dedication.
I love love love these so much
plus size one is so cute ❤❤
I'm just looking for wherever they're selling the stomach covering part to all the clothes that are hanging at every store. And why are they asking full price for half a shirt? WHERE ARE THE MIDRIFFS AT? Are they being held hostage? Is there some way to negotiate for them so that my only choice isn't just a big t-shirt that still somehow feels like it's strangling me?
true, true. That hat though, it really looked amazing. I kind of want it :)
Moree!!! moree!!!!
we need more parts!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAAAT?? JUICY COUTURE SPOTTED?!? WHERE IS THIS STORE???
this is y i need to learn to sew 😭
This song gets stuck in my head every time I watch your videos.
im built like a twig but im absolutely on my hands and knees for curvy women
I felt that anything in my size. I’m so tall there are never any pants my length and apparently tall people can’t also be skinny in the stores I frequent 🤦🏽♀️.
Leggings: they can fall down or you can get capris. Pick one!
This is one of the things that finally convinces me to reign my comfort eating in. I can't stand how hard it is to find clothes once I cross into a plus size. So unfair
"Does this hat make me look like a slut?!" That did it for me!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂
I HATE Aritzia. My friends dragged me to one in the 10th grade and it genuinely caused me to redevelop bulimia I’d managed to get control of previous to the trip.
the hat looks so cute tho 😭😭
i will take anything in my size as well, my trousers are kids age 10-11 😭
This is also pretty damn depressing. When I worked at a clothing store for adult women, it was a tad bit easier to work around heavier women, we had larger sizes. It was women who were very, very thin who were just out of luck. It was hardest when they would come in after cancer treatment and just not be able to buy the clothes they wanted
@@rosesweetcharlotteomg, that sounds terrible :( so many people lose a lot of weight after having health issues, having to scavenger for decent clothes probably doesn't make it any easier for them...
As someone with the waist width of a 3rd grader (seriously, I fit in some of my shorts I’ve had since 3rd grade) and the leg length of a men’s medium, it’s rough finding things that fit my proportions right 😭
(For reference I’m going into 12th grade this year)
Thw best part is that that we had no idea what we were actually doing 😂
Part 3 please
It’s too real “does this hat make me look like a slut?” 💀💀💀
Where do you buy the hat its soo beautiful
and this is why I learned to make my own clothes or else I would never have anything pretty or cute to wear 😥
The amount of regrettable clothes I've grabbed just because they are my size is kind of embarrassing, but not as embarrassing aa hearing seams pop when I try on clothes at regular stores
That's not the stores fault, or the clothings fault.
@@fantasea114 uhh if clothes are falling apart whilst you're trying them on... it is the manufacturers fault lmao. Where are you buying such cheap crap that you think that's acceptable 💀
@@LoveFoxesOrDie How fat are you that YOU think it's acceptable? I've never ripped anything while trying it on 💀
@@fantasea114Im underweight and i have. I raised my arms in a top and the seam popped. Clothes are just made poorly
You look great in everything!
The funny thing is that as a petite man, just finding things in my size is also the goal
"As a scarf!" MOOOOOOODD!!! So many times i see something super cute but the damn thing's biggest size only fits around my neck :sob:
I sometimes shop in the kids section because theres nothing in my size XD I feel the pain
The plus sized girl literally looks like my history teacher
both of you give Penelope and Eloise vibes ❤
This is so motivating!
So cute and entertaining!!
this is why i started shopping at cider and domino dollhouse, they fuckin get it
The hat was so cute on you
Im overweight but not obese, have been since young. My mother would take clothes I would show her at the store and tell me it was adorable and would look great on my skinny sister 😢 no cute clothes for me.
Okay but my mom would regularly tell me I couldn't try on clothes in the "petite" section because I was curvy as a young adult (not curvy anymore but thats not the point). 28 years !! later! i learn petite is HEIGHT BASED. I'm at or below 5'4. I'm literally the petite height /)_T
@@SairynadeX3 wow.
I'm sorry 😞
this is GREAT !!
Not going to lie that's a pretty nice hat
Girlie can afford a bigger place to fill w/ home decor w/ the money that corporations save by "not using extra fabric and materials to produce a wider range of sizes"💀💀
I love these 😂
Hey, I’m here to remind you that you are so loved. Jesus died for you bro, you matter!! Keep fighting, it’ll all be okay. Remember that. ❤️❤️
I weight something what I don’t know just grab everything and whatever fits get 😂😂😂😂
Plus size and petite is impossible to find
We have a women’s clothing store chain in Canada that sells nearly everything in XXS -3X and in petite, regular and tall lengths. I love getting my no longer have to hem plus size pants there.
@@Ozziecatsmom Do they have a website?
As a really skinny short but long legged small waisted girl “I’ll just take anything in my size” is very relatable jeans and skirts never fit
Sparkling, fitted & romantic...my choices are a bra, shoes or a headband..😮
Same, except bra. Not many places carry a 42 G
Being pear shaped tall teen in the 00’s was hell.
For my mom pants simply didn’t exist she was 5’9.
Part of the reason sizes are going up is people are getting taller
I wish I had the money for tailored garments. Until then, I guess I’ll wear this unfinished sack in the color Sassy Cantaloupe.
Ugh, all the visits to the skinny shops with an old friend. And not one to a place I could get something.
Many years ago I went clothes shopping with my BFF at the time and cried because I couldn't find my size and wanted to leave. She said she couldn't find anything in her size either. She was a size zero.
This is so sad 😢 im not too big but im not skinny and im very tall so my grandma sewed me a lot of custom tops and dresses because being thicker and tall clothes never fit right
This girl is hilarious.
What's her channel?
😂.. it was WAYYY worse in the 80s and 90s.. I was tall AND “plus” .. so. Yah. I HAD to have my prom dress made.. literally NOTHING fit.. 🙄
If you wanted anything over what a size 12 was back then, you went to “women’s” section… which is where grandma shopped and it SHOWED.. or you had to go to whatever the Plus Store was in your area.. and it was depressing.. 🙄
It’s still terrible, I know it is.. my moms bigger and taller than I am.. it’s a STRUGGLE to find pants that have an inseam over 29” and in plus sizes..
a woman over 6’ and not pencil skinny .. 🙄😤
Good luck..
Ive been wearing men’s shirts for 35 years so my sleeves reach my hand and my shoulders don’t pull seams or pop buttons..
so stupid..
Meanwhile, us plus sized guys just need to find the same types of shirts that every dude wears, just bigger.
❤love her so much,so funny and cute❤
Who is this creator?
Who is the comedian?
Pls make part 3😂
