god, reading Twitch chat on WoW streams, is like seeing people compete for the mental illness Olympics.
The numbers are def down, but ive still been playing phase 3 SoD and get groups for anything i want. Bg's, Gnomer, ST, dungeons.
I think incursions really killed p3. Everyone hit cap wayyyy too fast and then complained there's nothing to do.
And the gear from the incursions being almost on par with the new raid was aweful. The vendors should not have had gear on them... didn't have to do any dungeons to get pre bis for the raid was bad
Incursions + didn't need any dungeon loot to get into ST + ST nerfed to being too easy too fast. Its like Blizz WANTED us to be done with the phase in 2 weeks.
Incursions made people hit max level 1 day faster. Even if we didnt have incursions, sod would still be as dead as it is now.
Incursions hyper inflated the market too with how it was launched and even after the gold making was nerfed. personally I don't enjoy gold farming as my content just for it to be pissed away on raid mats so I just concluded SoD isn't for me
Whst i would love for SoD is the class desinge like (not exactly) Cata, the Difficulty scaling (and gearing path) of Retail and the Content amount of everything that was cut for classic.
The devs even admitted SoD is just a test for Pandaria remix. Like "help us to make you like Retail again".
Incursions is just one proof of this. Farm 1 place for massive exp and gold when Azeroth is a huge world with two massive continents.
Blizz rehire Chris M to save what can be saved of Retail is another sign. Insted have him work on Classic projects insted. Classic 2019 up to SoD has been HUGE successes.
Except for SoM and P3 in SoD. *However* they did hint there might be a "season 2" continuation. But if we just get more reused content it will fail Only NEW raid might be that Crypt.

People are so impatience its scary, some times i wonder how people get through the day with the amount of stress they put their body through
These people do not have a day to get through. They just sit around and base their life around what they are going to play. That is why they are missing perspective.
dungeons / old raids need stuff u can always farm even tho the new raid is out. for example the orbs and other consumables that are needed for enchants, mounts, some special pieces that are BIS even later for some classes and so on. that was something good about vanilla pve... it had a lot of these things.
Open world farming on SoD has been great recently. I also have completed 27 qst for next phase turn in. Hoping I’ll get atleast two levels if the exp buff stays around.
I wish in the end they gather all the good stuff they did and finally give us Vanilla+, the definitive version of wow, the one server that will keep us subbed.
I think they should introduce Heroic Version of classic Vanilla dungeons that have wild offering mechanics added to them, where you get bonus experience from running the full dungeon along with better loot. Essentially, mixing the incursion model in with dungeon grind.
Why have an end game system where you turn in a currency for crafting mats along with gear. Similar to justice and valor points in cata. Add a Similar system to p4 with wild offerings as an extension. For more incentives to run dungeons and help with auction house prices
What I fear is Blizz will listen and cater more to "retailers" and go with more of that. Who and what decides what PTR feedback will be taken more serious?
For me personally, P1 was great, P2 was ok, P3 was 💀so P4 must deliver or SoD is done and will get a bad rep going forward.
Another thing. It feels a bit off that SoD was not already a planned project. That the game was not even done yet and they still need more feedback on a PTR.
This is exactly what I've been saying since day 1: Blizz don't even know what "Classic+" should be. So they toss everything on the wall and see what sticks. SoD is NOT C+. It's Beta for it.
I think there are more people raiding in SoD than in Cata. Probably surprising to some

SoD died for me when they killed my server for literally no reason. There were 5000 raiding toons 3 weeks into p3.

SoM BWL was brutal. Shaman class call was almost always a guaranteed wipe.

A 40 man raid with retail level mechanics would be a nightmare, in classic organizing a 40 man outside of naxx is easy, you can clear the content with half the raid having their brains turned on and the other half with an auto clicker on their class spell and be on the hub on another tab
Difference between original vanilla and sod is.. guilds were actually guilds back then.. we would run Dire maul 10 times a night for months for the OT to get his quell. Nowadays no one in the guilds do shit for other people, unless they get something out of it.

@@chukky1124 all you have to do is watch the hardcore wow 1v1 tournament and you will see that every class can be good if you know how to play it. Warlock won btw beating one of the best frost mages of all time. hunters and warriors also did very well. Rogues did not lol.
All sod should have been 10 man. I've gone through to many guilds already 40 man is going to be a death sentence.
10 man isn't raiding. Stop joining tiny guilds that can't fill a couple 20m raids. These tiny 10m raiding guilds are pathetic and deserve to be wiped out. Those GMs are GMs. If they were they would have recruited more. When Cata launched it created a prime opportunity to recruit from other guilds that abandoned SoD for the flavor of the week leaving behind members ripe for the picking. Members that didn't bail. But instead they complain about raid size when they're raid logging and doing nothing to improve the guild.
@@brandonwilson4740agreed, 20 man is fine, or even 25. I do think however 40 man is a bit too much and 10 man is just not feeling like a raid, you can’t really bring everything to it, and 3day lockout is even worse, as it’s more difficult to plan around and way to stressful

It felt a lot more natural to find runes in p1 for me personally. You kept sumbling upon items and npcs that were out of the norm everywhere.
I kinda lost that with p2 onwards.
Same team doing Cata, panda, and SoD at the same time. Split attention going to fuck up everything.

@@Seeric85 It just feels like a late beta, there are still so many bugs. when the game is working it feels great, but when you try to do a dungeon achievement and it is bugged or you impale magmaw and his head is unreachable to attack it is not great.

I only started this lvl 50 season after my friend who played since lvl 25 cap went on to me about how good SoD is, but l quit a few days after hitting level cap.
Got a free pre-bis set from a few incursions with the addon, done the 3 wild offerings for the rune while leveling and gathered up all the runes I've missed after I've had a mount. Done ST once, STV and few BGs and the game was boring as hell afterwards. CBA grinding vanilla professions out again, especially on this kind of low-commitment, seasonal content.
Not sure I'd actually check into the lvl 60 phase. Feels more like some vanilla fun server.
Incursions bottlenecked people into the same 2 spots. Gatekeeping buff, especially on pvp servers
People comparing sod to retail either never played retail/current retail or are just delusional. Yea there are some newer abilites, but it doesn’t even feel close to retail at all.
With how much the population has tanked in SoD there is no way they can do 40mans now. Even with people coming back, its just not going to work

Im on Lone wolf, i havent logged in sense week 2 of Sunken. As u say, there is NOTHING to do what so ever.
Someone didn’t play Legion or Shadowlands. This drought is nothing compared to those expansions and they are at least talking about things to come. Take a break but don’t call a mega server where I can find BG groups any time of day “dead”.

Sorry Guzu, you don't know jack about balancing. The classes were effed up and even Aggrend in a tweet admitted that "we know how to do balance but what fun would that be?" Like, the devs, 20 years after, *still* play favourites over itemisations and classes and specs.

wille says its harder today to organize a 40man is false imo. we didnt have discord make in 2005 so i think simply having the sign up feature in discord would make forming a 40 man today 100x easier then in 2005.

As a casual player, I was excited for Season 1. Then all of the retail try-hards joined and you started getting people requesting ilvl scores to join easy af dungeons and raids.
Until they solve the issue where the game somewhat controls players and stops them from gatekeeping so hard, I will not be returning, along with what I assume is a lot of other casual players. It's not fun to constantly feel like I HAVE to log on and HAVE to play and keep up.
Also, too much was added to SoD, it should have remained still somewhat simple like WoW vanilla.
Only mode I enjoy now is HC.
If you want to play, then play. If not go do something else. And that’s where the problem for wow players really lies lmao

Blizz f..ed the players by draging them into pahse1, then they left the players in the garbage of phase3. And phase4 was never even started in my opinion.

I disagree in Phase I being better than anything else. Lvl 25 wasn‘t that good imo, at least as a warrior it didn’t feel nice. Yeah, best dps class, but the „rotation“ if you can call it that was shit and in pvp you were helpless as a warrior. Also not much to farm and I didn’t like the 3 day lockout and 10man raids, 7day lockout and 20-25 man is ideal
They should stop SoD with MC and do a FRESH with all the information they gathered otherwise this is nothing more then another trailer that shows everything..

Blizzard needs to understand that if they fuck with raid sizes again, another 50% of the guilds will die. This is what happend from p2 to p3. Having to suddenly field twice as many players. It's fucking crazy they are considering going to 40 mans now. Thats a way to fuck up existing communities.

Its silly to me that blizzard takes 0 of the opportunities available to them on the table and then they pretend like they are listening to the community and doing things to make appeals to the desires that they infer. They have so much lore to create content from. Look at turtle wow. There is a level 40 haunted forest/satyr dungeon in ashenvale and it has its own narrative that naturally fits into the lore of the game. Let me ask you all a simple question. How cool would it have been to stumble upon brand new dungeons dispersed around the world? Like you randomly find a dungeon entrancd in stv hidden behind one of the waterfalls or tucked away near the defies camp....cool right? They haven't added any new dungeons...they just lazily spruce up the dungeon of the month and call it a day. No wonder. No mystery. No exploration. Like why not just have added like 15 brand new dungeons dispersed between the 1-60 leveling brackets? Hide the entrances around the world and don't advertise them to the community. That would've been awesome....why not do that? They don't capitalize on anything available to them and like I said they just pretend they're trying their best. They aren't at all
For real. Absolutely agree. Tone down the 'runes' and insane power boosts just a tad, and invest in actual content like you suggested.

So many were/are hyped..

I quit middle of P1, I used to love playing private servers that did things way better than SOD did. SOD is just blizzard sticking their toes in the water but too scared to jump in. Theres vanilla+ servers much better than SOD. Why would I pay nearly 20 bucks a month to have a subpar experience? Pservers actually have active mods and actively ban gold farmers and bots. Blizz is a joke.

At this point, classic has been min-maxed to hell, everyone tried every possible shit that exists and there is no content left to discover. If you're going to be adding new things, why not go batshit crazy with it? It's not like there is anything better you're doing. It turned out bad? Who cares, most of the people still play Cataclysm and Retail with the same subscription anyway.
Major Cope on the Balance of Classic. SOD is miles better in PVP spec options than era. Era has some straight useless pvp classes.
SoD P3 was terrible. With Cata classic, FFXIV Dawntrail, and War Within coming out...I'm not hyped for SoD p4.
SoD P4 is infinitely more interesting than Cataclysm Classic simply because it is something new. I get if you’re young enough to not have played original Cataclysm but for us who did it isn’t really an expansion with enough content to be enjoyable twice.
@@Zinaroth I played Cata when it came out originally. There was a ton of content. The only problem with cata was the length of the final patch and raid teir.
