Really is! I was trying to get a handle on why this game reminds me of Okami so much. But I think that the purify and then explore mechanic might be one of them.
@@itsnows yeah, I think what made it great for me was the Disney style. Usually, I don’t tend to touch games like this but it kind of reminded me of a Disney meets Studio Ghibli kind of vibe.
I’m really loving this game so far, but there’s 2 things they need to address ASAP 1. The Parry System - It’s crap, fix it. 2. Pull the camera back more during fights - Unless you’re constantly rolling, you’re going to get hit off-camera by a enemy you can’t see.
Yea the corrupt taru fight was awful cuz of those reasons, which sucks cuz i REALLY love his design, its like a dark souls boss tbh, the block and parry need to be 2 separate things cuz its just ass the way it is now, also having to hold down the pulse button to block is so frustrating in combat cuz somtimes as im getting hit I'll hold L1 but the game doesn't register it as a block if im in ANY other animation besides just standing or running, so if im in a damage animation or a knockdown i cant block by holding L1 and i normally just die when i get up
This shit was the B A N E of my life during the platinum run - notably in the final boss fight, and even *more* notably in the *very* last stage (but also in the second stage of the fight on New Game+ Master) of said boss fight. Trying to hold on to your health with a massive health bar is incredibly difficult!
I love her moonsault and her special dive into the water. I also really love how amazingly beautiful this game is.The smooth buttery gameplay is solid.👏🏽
Also ppl can dodge attacks by jumping in the air and use the arrow slow down time to make longer jumps to objects. Also shouldn't spam jumps when traversing, just wait until you get in the air for at least a second. Good video 👍🏾
Flowers in battles can be used several times. They recharge after a while and the rots can activate it again. Of course it will cost a rot action. I'm playing in story mode and find it quite hard, especially the timed battles. I wish I could parry more but it's really difficult. An indicator would have been nice. Still, very cool game.
Playing this game on hard/expert difficulty is actually a legitimate nightmare. My only gripe with the game is the upgrade system, I feel like it could be improved with more effective upgrades? A lot of them to me personally don’t exactly feel like they serve a purpose other than the rot arrow and multishot upgrade. I just wish it could be more complex so it GENUINELY helps me defeat the chests/bosses 😭
Tbh not to sound like an insult but maybe you would enjoy the game better by not starting there. Maybe this skill difference is causing the “nightmare” feel. Just play on easy/normal and your gripe is solved.
What a pointless video. Doesn't talk about any of the things the game actually doesn't tell you. Like how the yellow crystals on the enemy are vulnerable points that do a chunk of damage when shot. I came trying to figure out how to hit the vulnerable spots on the rear since it isn't clear at all. Also, doesn't talk about the yellow circles on the enemy bar that tells how much courage it costs to bind them. Game says nothing about it.
Regarding the health flowers, they only heal you for full health when your health bar is lower, but the more meditation spots you find and increase your health bar, the less a flower will fill it up. There *is* a charmstone (charmstones were introduced with the anniversary update of the game) which is super beneficial when it comes to health flowers (and gives your attack a limitied-time boost): gives you more health. Just something to bear in mind 🤔
Tip for the flowers that restore life in combat: DO NOT set auto target lock to on. It will always keep you locked on an enemy and inhibit you from targeting the flower.
Yea it’s a super tight timing I’ve been trying to get it for 2 days now every encounter I get into and I have only hit it 1 time. They either need to make the timing more generous, or make it an automatic parry with way less shield durability. Because the way it stands is not good
Playstation need more titles like this. I enjoy the realistic cinematic graphics of many of the titles but a stylised cartoon title is very refreshing. Its anazing for the studios first effort. I can see it hopefully spawning a new franchise 🙏
This game is better than any games which is 10 years long, solar system size empty map, 10 mega zillion collectibles, tower climbing and chores (yes you Ubisoft)
Healing flowers require rot to use but they go into hiding until you have built up enough courage for rot actions. Also each flower can only be used once in combat since the energy in them is drained to heal you.
My only takeaway is I am usually lost. I have no clue where I’m going most of the time. But the game is so great, it’s not a deterrent, I just go to a quick walkthrough
The game is a 9/10 but i felt like it lacked the narration of other AAA titles. You dont feel as attached to the character when you compare with ratchet/clank or god of war, last of us. You find yourself walking around in silent most of the time. There's no communication of self talk that makes it immersive.
How the hell is this called "...things it does not tell you"? When nearly everything you list actually IS told to you by the game? Is this just a way to use the title "things it doesn't tell you" for clicks? Holy click bait.
I played all the way to the big rocks platforming, on my way to help Taro. After falling about 10x with what seemed like good timing, only for kena to somehow miss the landing. I'm not a demon souls fan, so this combat really got on my nerves. How is this a kids game? Enemies are crazy aggressive, and the camera is trash when dodging and rolling away. I keep getting hit offscreen.. the Graphics are insanely good, but the gameplay is woeful. It's been deleted and uninstalled..
WTF you told me how to activate "Pulse" and not how to do anything ell's - just telling me to do lots of stuff with no how to instructions. I'm so disappointed in this game, great graphics, and music, but no diagram of what buttons do what? and the buttons are like they were randomly assigned from a keyboard to the controller ! Not the first time I've wasted money on a game that I can't figure out how to play, to be clear: I'm in my 70's ...
@@scottd7222 A normal experience was fine. I'm not a fan of collecting things from fights and puzzles to earn useless hats...but that's just one of many things that I hate about this game.
I rarely dislike a video, but this was so useless I just had to. Most of what you mentioned is told by the game, so the title isn't truthfull. And what it didn't is so obvious I find it hard to believe you people ever played any game at all. "tip 1: exploration"? Really? Next you're going to tell us we need to jump in Super Mario.
I feel a weird sense of satisfaction when you purify an area and it all turns into a lush, green landscape.
For 3 years ago .Yes it becomes normal like before

It’s actually one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever played. Not just the art style but music and even story.

I agree. Excellent story. Great visual. It is a bit too Disney though so Horizon Zero Dawn will stay above it for me :=)

If you change the sensibility of the camera, it's a tad better. Not a dramatic change though.

It’s crap. They need to fix it. I really don’t see why they put it in there if it isn’t reliable. The timing is fooked.

I just wish the game went in more detail about who kena is and why she wants to go to the mountain shrine…
They did she said she went to the mountain shrine because her father said it was an important part to becoming a better spirit guide
I think its kind of implied she hoped to find her dads spirit there

One thing I hate is that 99% of the exploration and collectables are useless cosmetics that you can hardly even see due to how small the rot are.
