9 अप्रैल को लेखक और विचारक राहुल सांकृत्यायन का 125वां जन्मदिन था. उनकी जयंती के अवसर पर दिल्ली के इंदिरा गांधी राष्ट्रीय कला केंद्र में उनके जीवन और कृतित्व पर लगी प्रदर्शनी में वरिष्ठ पत्रकार उर्मिलेश से बातचीत.

इसी अध्ययन के कारण मैं राहुल के जुड़े स्थलों की यात्रा की। सारण, परसा मठ, अमवारी और दार्जिलिंग आदि आदि। दार्जिलिंग में 2008 म् कमला सांकृत्यायन से मिल आया। जो संस्मरण के रूप में प्रकाशित भी हुआ
125 वी जयंती पर राहुल की पुत्री जया आज़मगढ़ आई। पंदहा, कनैला के आयोजनों में शरीक हुई। मैंने भी उनके सामने अपने यात्रा संस्मरणो को सुनाया

Just few days back, I finished Volga to Ganga and I was deeply touched by the book and its logical story telling concept. Each small chapter of the book tells a curated story of our past since human inception. I share same birth place with Rahul ji and read his few written chapter as part of my curriculum in school. Very big thanks to Wire for doing really amazing job about our Hindi writers. Hoping to read more text of Rahul ji as I want to travel his life through his books and works. Thanks Wire and Urmilesh ji for such a nice work.
Thank you to present this great Indian thinker-writer-traveller here. Salute to The Wire and to Urmilesh Sir. It will be great if we get more of this kind programs where discussion interweaved with literature, literary personality , contemporary society and social issues and the thoughts behind it. Thank you Urmilesh Sir, you are always educative and clear and vocal on issues.
Remember reading "Volga Theke Ganga" in Bengali. As teenager it has a great influence on me. I became a fan of him and his dynamic personality. I wish I could read his writing in hindi. For our youngsters his writing should be a must read becuase it redirect towards differnt way of thinking and seeing things and ofcourse adventure and quest for knowledge. His personality touches so many other dimensions of life.

Most Tibetans who have studied up to high school are aware of the great Indian scholar Rahul and his visit to Tibet. Looking closely at these pictures one would clearly see that the root of Tibetan culture and psyche flow from India, especially from the culture heritage of the great Nalanda University (between the 8th to 11th century). The picture here (1:15 - 1:20) is of Sambhota, the person who visited India in the 7th century to make the Tibetan script which we have been using since then; India was then under the Gupta Empire. And if you look at the name below the picture (which says Sambhota), you would see that the Tibetan script is so close to the Devanagari script, simple because ours was created on the bases of the Devanagari script. Thank you India for the language, religion (Buddhism) and culture then, and refuge today when Tibet is under the Chinese occupation. Jai Jagat! Jai Bharat!

हम भाग्यशाली हैं, हमने राहुल जी को पढ़ा।
वोल्गा से गँगा , घुमक्कड़ शास्त्र , तुम्हारी छय, सतमी के बच्चे.... और भी अनेक पुस्तकों को पढ़ने का सौभाग्य मिला। लेकिन आज की पीढ़ी के बच्चों को उनके बारे में उतना पता नहीं है इसका दुःख है।
राहुल जी का बुद्धिझम और मार्क्सवाद पर काम बहुत सरहनीय है, डॉ आंबेडकर के ऊपर उन्होंने किताबे लिखी हो तो क्या कोई शेयर कर सकता है??
