Even _My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic_ was not, for the most part, up to its usual standard that year.

Given that a modern version would probably be an invidious deconstruction...

CBS originally wanted HIM to be "Matt Dillon" on TV, but John wanted to continue his successful theatrical movie career. He told the network, "I will be very happy to introduce the first episode, and put in a good word for Jim Arness" (whom he suggested for the role).

I've a lot of respect for Marshall Dillon, but he's as foolish in not using Chester's assistance to arrest Gratt as Sheriff Hill had earlier been in not accepting Dillon's offer of assistance. Dillon's a peace officer, not a gunslinger, and whenever necessary, he should use overwhelming force to achieve his objective. His decision to not use appropriately overwhelming force to effect Gratt's arrest in the first instance cost another man his life... 13 Apr 2024
