Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a 2022 action-adventure comedy film directed by Jeff Fowler and written by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington, based on the video game franchise published by Sega. The sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog (2020), it stars Ben Schwartz returning as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog, with the rest of the cast consisting of James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore, Colleen O'Shaughnessey, Lee Majdoub, Idris Elba, and Jim Carrey. The film follows Sonic (voiced by Schwartz) and Tails (voiced by O'Shaughnessey) teaming up to find the Master Emerald, before Dr. Eggman (Carrey) and Knuckles (voiced by Elba) do.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is an upcoming live action film based on the Sonic the Hedgehog series and the sequel to the 2022 film, Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It will be the third entry in the Sonic the Hedgehog film series created by Paramount Pictures, and licensed by Sega. The film will likely feature Shadow the Hedgehog or Project Shadow. Rumored names are also Amy Rose, Rouge the Bat and Big the Cat.
The announcement for the movie was likely a pun on Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles, as it was announced along with a Knuckles spinoff series, titled Sonic the Series. The Paramount+ Facebook page even responded with a comment about this reference. The US release date for this movie, 20 December, is also the same date that Sonic Adventure 2: Battle was released on in 2001. It is unknown if this is simply a coincidence, or an intentional choice due to the movie drawing elements from said game.

@Evviva L'Allegria me too but I also like Amy rose from the idw comics where amy rose is older and mature than her younger self in the idw comics mature rose becomes leader of the freedom fighters and linked by sega in a conversation with the creators of sonic the hedgehog they also talked about and said that Silver is indeed related to sonic and amy and that sonic and amy are seen and believed to be still alive in the idw comics where it shows silver’s future sonic and amy are still alive 200 years into the future
