What's your favorite Jim Jones project?
Wasted Talent
El Capo🔥
Hustlers P.O.M.E
He went 3 for 3 his first 3 albums ngl
None. He a diva.
Great interview. You asked all the right questions. And didn’t interrupt him when he was getting his points across. Excellent interview
Talib Kweli did an amazing job on getting a true in depth view on the scope of Jim Jones and his career … Talib is great at this podcast thing and he has true respect for hip hop it’s too evident
Its "Jack of all trades, Master of none" 😂😂😂 Salute to My Guy Capo!! Great interviews Kweli!!!
Blue Note 🎵🎶.
Salute to the real❤
Peace to Capo, peace to Jim Jones.🙏🏿
Jim need to grow mace don't owe that man nothing I love him but he to emotional
Jay was the Roc, everybody else just had a ego outside of ye nobody else ever popped off lets call a spade a spade, but went the Set came to the Roc they went full throttle. All that talent and it went down the drain.
I have to stop you for a moment. jim is wack he bullied his was into dipset
26:10 I die every time😂 gotta love Jim for the Energy
Talib Kweli deserves higher status is Hip Hop on Hip Hop journalism & Podcasting 🔥🔥🔥🔥
02 to 06 you can't front that DipSet era was serious... I'm from the Midwest them mixtapes was fire
Jimmy still hating on Mase!!! Get over it my brother!!! Live your life and cease the negativity!!!
He not hating he never liked him it’s a difference… Shit deeper than what you know, he definitely has a reason to ever like Mase again ever… If it wasn’t for Cam linking back up he would still be finished, and with that being said it’s nothing to hate on 🤦🏽♂️
Jim needs to stop lying to "himself" = it's getting out of hand at this point in time + he looks "wild" goofy lately
Talib is fronting. Jones wack
Was he the best in dipset no... wack hell nah bruh
“You gave them some Jewels and Gems” (Juelz & Jim’s) 🔥🔥🔥
He’s corny.
Mase and cam don't fuck with jim he know that shit
Jim was so loyal he was on the stage with fif.
Talib Kweli is great at interviewing people and Jim Jones gives great interviews.
Jim needs to go the humble Tony Yayo route. We've all moved on.
Damn I didn't know it's his birthday. Still Happy Birthday.
Yeah Talib
Amazing way to interview Jimmy, the patience, not taking anything personally, he guided and interviewed Jimmy the right way, got everything in a way where Jim understood and answered everything correctly, love you Talib 🙏🏽
Really insightful comment. Jim can be a bit ornery at times but Talib gave him grace and didn't let it shake him and kept the interview going with a calm demeanor
Y’all couldn’t find anyone else? Pusha T wasn’t available right? FOH
All credit to Talib for takiing control of the interview. Not sure WHY the people's party bothered haviing this individual on here to begin with, but don't waste time on this individual again. How do you get offended when someone is giving you nothing but praises? crazy.
the thing people loo over with the Versuz is that the Lox are a rap group and have been for 20+ years but they are a group who then started doing solos but Dip Set is a crew, and solo artists who did albums together as "compilations". They were not a group. They are basically 2 solo artists with Jim Jones who started rapping later. SO the Lox was supposed to get the better of them on performances
That’s a sick Sox hat
Exactly my first thought bro😂👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
🔥🔥 Facts💯
I swear i said the same thing @EricJae
Hat is crazy 🔥🔥🔥
*Just Don*
#StackBundles!🗽🐐🙏🏼
Legendary?
Am just here for the mase question and why he hating someone who thought him everything about writing bars
word jimmy is a clown
Harlem had swag I can’t front…. We went uptown for the 🌳
According to goggle he's born in the bx, someone tell him to fix it
He was..he didn’t become a permanent Harlem guy until maybe after 10 years old
U tell ‘em
Jim Jones is still mad that Cam and Mase are chillin he's hating
hating is what got pusha t on his ass (pause)
@@meladgoatHating FOH...You think Pusha T is a Top 30 Mc🤡🤦🏽♂️😂😂Jones already smoked Pusha T....."It's Too Late"‼️no pun😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@DonMegaHimno he didn’t lol and Pusha got one in the vault , trust me 💯 I hate it tho cuz I’m a fan of both fr
Cam is fake. Aint nobody hating
@@meladgoatjones smacked him
Missing the time-stamps, but a great interview nonetheless.... Note to Jim: Love you brother, but you don't need beef to be relevant. Get on your grind.
This whole interview is weird. This needed to happen 20 years ago. It literally looks like a conversation too late. I'm glad it happened, but this was pretty disappointing.
In what way?
@UPROXXVideo Bridging the gap that was caused by the east/west media beef, also spilled into genres within the music. Being able to reconcile the differences in sound, is the same as accepting others choices. Jim should have given Kweli the respect of removing his glasses, and Kweli should have removed his hat. Like, let's really talk about 87 to now.
@@bighouse7931 I agree with your statement. As I look at Jim, I can't see myself ever buying a Book on his Life or a Documentary on his life because I feel like I've heard the same stories over and over again about his childhood growing up etc. I'm not mad at it but I would love to see more growth within Jim and for some reason I just don't see that much. Perfect example is how Camron is moving accordingly to wearing suits from time to time and becoming more into the business space. I would like to see more and more of the OG's of the game grow out of the phase they were in back then and get tap into being more in tuned with who they are transitioning into, let's face it you can't be a gangsta forever. I can't see Jim at the age of 50 still being gangsta.
New York is so big that the neighborhood of Harlem is bigger than most cities in America. I'm from a city of 36 thousand, which fits inside of Harlem several times, crazy!!
Harlem is small sir ! 6 broughs are big !
I just wonder what mase did to Jim for him still not to forgive when Cam'ron has
RIP Both My Brothers Fred n Stacks And Salute 🫡 To Jimmy Always Love When We Cross Paths 💪🏽💯‼️
To me sucka MC describes this guy!!
🤣🤣
yet youre watching his interview & even taking the time to leave comments on the video You chose to watch 😄😁😆😅🤣😂🤣
WHEN WAS JIM JONES ON THE WIRE, "IT NEVER HAPPENED "ZOMBIE"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was an extra standing on the corner in front of a store. Non-speaking scene cameo

During interviews you can tell when he smoked and when he didn’t
Track star jimmy the homie a confidential informant seal corporation 😮😮😮😮
Fred
What a weird but interesting interview. You can tell Jim and Kweli run in different circles.
Fa sure
it’s always been that intriguing to watch intellectuals navigate through hip hop. there’s a nefarious street culture that coexists with a brilliant thinkers. in no way am i calling street cats dumb.
within the arts they make each other better artists.
There was a point where I did respect Jim, now not so much. Shut out to Max B
im sure hes loosing sleep over your lack of respect for him 🤦🏿♂️🤣
Bought ‘Harlem: Dairy of a Summer’ album. Been a fan since. ‘El Capo (deluxe)’ is classic. 🔥🔥🔥 Pusha T where ya at?! Lol 👀🦅🦅🦅

I notice that Jim has a problem w/ eye contact
Good interview! Dude is still salty!!
He is too smart for his own good..... sucks to be him!!!!! Negro you gave him his flowers meatball

Probably the best interview questions for Jim thus far. Good job Ta
What do you think about Harlem that gives people that extra hustle? Uhhh it’s in Manhattan lol
Jim Been My Big Homie Since '99 ... We are DIPLOMATS.
Jim a FED
This was a way better interview. I think when Jim isnt a podcast that will allow you to smoke you'll get a better Jim Jones interview.
Happy birthday capo⚠️🇵🇷
Jim Jones and Dipset were legit in it's days. Though Fred THe Godson was just getting his shine.
That's real about being responsible 💯💪
The Best interview from Jimmy
Kweli gets gems from people!

I’ve met Talib had no idea Jimmy was that tall
hes 5"11 both him and talib are under 6"ft
I remember in an interview where Jim Jones says he took the phrase Ballin from Juelz Santana🤔 but Pac was definitely saying Ballin since the 90s
PAC started that ballin shit before Jones and them
Cats on the east coast was saying Balling in the mid 80’s- that shit didnt start in the 90’s 🤦🏾♂️
@@reefb4364 PAC is from Harlem / Bronx so of course that's east coast slang
@@TheBulletzgottishow20 exactly. But this idea that he started that is crazy.
Jim so underrated niggas hate him because of his arrogance but he brought a lot to the game fashion wise , made the whole hood slim down their clothes , directed all of Dipset videos etc
Brought A LOT to the game 🎯
Solid discography too
He blatantly said he “took” a little from everyone meaning he ain’t a real rapper or a M.C. I don’t understand how dum people are that they put a no talent self proclaimed fashionista into the history books of RAP!! It tells you how ridiculous this rap game is! He was taught how to put words together by someone he don’t even respect..God only knows where this tough guy would be without Mase writing lessons!!
Hope you heal.. 😂😂😂
@@TheMithVideos😂
every rapper ever has infleunces.
If it wasn't for Mase alot of the dipset members wouldn't have been eating.
The Artistic World 🌍 of Everything started in Harlem. Revolutionary Meca.
Jim always speaks highly of his team post controversy, perceived strife of conflict. I like hearing his perspective considering how PR likes to ramp up small drama as though conflict is uncommon. 🤨
Great interview !!
Jimmy u can't tell these Younsta nothing, Not he OG fault. DIDNT ADDRESS ANY RUMORS?
If a man teach you how to fish, and you go on to feed your family off that persons lessons, you cant give them their flowers? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The Renaissance originated in Harlem. Everything is Great in Harlem.❤
U gave them jewels & gems was a bar lol, talib can’t turn it off
🎯
Great interview !!! I will be looking out for the next interview !!!
All of them
I need that hat bro.
good interview
So Cam and Mase opened the door Jimmy. All that other stuff didnt need to said after saying that. Of course you has to hustle and get to it to get to where your at but they still gave you an alley a chance to get on.
I hear growth in both of these gentlemen
Yo i dont know jim has had hits back then like on mixtapes albums
🤙🏾🤟🏾🤟🏾🤟🏾🤟🏾🤟🏾🤟🏾🤟🏾👊🏾🤗
Hey Jimbo..HERE COME PUSHA😂...🤡
If you dont know the real reason Jim dont like Mase, dont speak on it.
Good talk, evrrybody...
Fire interview
"Proper preparation prevents poor performance "
he spit some GD knowledge ✡️💯 #Respect #FreeLarryHoover
I became a fan of Cam after his 2nd or 3rd albums but never liked Mase. Don’t care about his murder Mase days.
“Prevention is better than a solution”
im only 10minutes in to the interview and this feels different. The energy that jim exudes is this interview is amazing. Maybe its the setting that has sharpened his tools but the flow of this conversation is beautiful
