Where would you have the Ryzen 5700X3D ranked on this chart with its release this past week? Judging by the Gamers Nexus review of it and the performance benchmarks they showed of it in games, it seems like an A tier CPU that has most of the performance of a Ryzen 5800X3D while having a $250 price tag which is $70 cheaper than the 5800X3D at $320 (about 21% less expensive). The price to performance here seems like it's worthy of A tier. To me it makes a far better budget option than the 5800X3D, and it performs as good or better than a decent number of AM5 AMD CPUs. The 5700X3D has around 6-10% less performance than the 5800X3D but costs about 21% less which definitely puts it in a more affordable price range. The 5800X3D is still the best upgrade CPU if you already have an AM4 machine, since you're only footing the cost of the CPU itself and not an entire build alongside it. And the Ryzen 5600 is probably the best for barebones entry level budgets. But if you're on a strict budget while wanting the 3D cache performance for gaming, $250 seems like a great price to me and is probably the ideal mid tier CPU worth stretching a really thin budget for so you can get good gaming performance with an AM4 PC build in an affordable price range.

ASRock B650M PRO RS: -about 140 bucks difference to the HDV/M.2: some white paint, a little bit of RGB, 4 RAM slots, a third M.2 slot (two lanes only) and most crucial: some 3 pin ARGB headers! 3. ASRock B650M PG Riptide -about 160 bucks (not really budget anymore imo) -a bit like the PRO RS with some RGB but in black -beefier voltage regulation

I very much agree on the most part but you lost me when you put that i9 13900ks/k is waste of tier and 7950x on D tier, bruh for the same or 10$ less that i9 has a good encoding/decoding igpu+better gaming performance and you still put the 7950x one tier above. Either they should be put together in the same tier or i9 on D and r9 on WOS tier.
You can at least upgrade from the 7950X to whatever future cpu and has in store for AM5. LGA 1700 is a dead socket and there is no where to upgrade to after a 13900K. Additionally, this video is just measuring gaming performance.
for me, 4600G + 5600G is SS tier for new gaming PC under 100watt . and 13600k is D tier for budget gaming.🤣🤣 because you need expensive AIO cooler and mobo for 13600k. I gave the 13500 a grade of B tier. (in default state 13500 has same performance like13600k but uses a cheaper cooler and mobo)
Well the 7800x3d is good for gaming but apart from that the i7 14700k is overall a more powerful one with way higher single and multi core performance . Honestly would not choose a cpu only for gaming but for the overall performance across all workloads.
You can get the 12700k for around $200/250 and it has 8 cores easily outperforming the 12600k, so its the 12600k that makes no sense right now unless you find one for less than $150 and are willing to settle on performance which makes no sense since you can get the 12700k for a similar price.
Got a 5700x, for sim racing title such as iracing, F1 2023, Acc its performs great especially on 1080p 100hz. I dive into cp77 and Rdr2 and avg 120 fps. I think in 3 or 4 more years I'll upgrade.
I could write a book on the unequaled attributes of the legendary AM4 platform and the impact of its tech wonder final upgrade parts, the 5000X3D CPUs. I would settle for S tier as a proper acknowledgement to the near perfect back end of future proof upgrade path planning.

I guess you didnt factor in the power efficiency element here. I wouldnt put 13600k/F that high tho. The power efficient is not high. Actually 13400/F has better power efficiency. It deserves higher position. 7950x3d also deserves higher position. I mean, its high end/high performance product. But it still offers low wattage per frame, unlike intel. That is something.
Since my first cpu was Ryzen 3100, upgraded 2 gens apart to Ryzen 5600, I might wait 5 generations to build new pc with new Ryzen/Intel processor in it.
APU's in my country can mean an 200 bucks cut out on price, which is just the thing. In a reality where GPU's are overpriced and the only way to make an less than 2000 bucks PC its with APU's. So give it the respect that they deserve.
The i7-12700K's gaming perf is basicaly a Ryzen 7 7700X while clocking 800MHz lower. Zen 4 IPC is kinda bad. It's effectively the OG 13600K but less of dumb cores and more powerful ones.
Great video as always. I have an i7 8700k. Should I upgrade to a newer Intel chip, go the AMD route, or keep the 8700k and get a better GPU? I currently have a GTX 1060 6GB.
The GPU is definitely your bottleneck for almost everything. I ran an i7 7700 with a GTX 1060 3gb, and upgraded to a 1080 later on. CPU technology advances far slower than GPU when it comes to effective performance, which is why even ten year old processors can still run modern games with decent performance- very few GPUs are capable of such a feat. If you want a bit more CPU performance, you can try a bit of overclocking with that chip anyway if you havent already. Only thing is, if you use your PC for a lot more than just gaming, you might start to feel the lack of cores on your performance. Currently I am switching my main desktop to a Ryzen 5 5600x that I got with a motherboard deal for just over $200, so you can still find some awesome options like that if you are willing to spend a bit more and make the switch.

Remember...if all you do is game then go AMD, but if you want productivity performance as well go Intel (and certain AMD chips).

Your second statement is especially true. I get a lot of post consumer validation comments under these videos to make they sure they bought “the right” whatever.
AMD is good for multithreading, terrible multitasking. Intel has better multitasking and worse multithreading.
The 5960x is NOT a gaming CPU and should not even be considered for this tier list. Now for productivity, that’s another story. The 5950x would score very high on any productivity list.
Higher than the 5800X3D. Probably A tier like you suggestd.
when i built my computer the best single thread performance chips near the price i could afford was the 5800x and the brand new 12700k , i went with the Ryzen chip because no way was i buying another brand new released intel chip so i would give the 5800x a bit of a better score and the 5800x3d hadn't come out yet

i have built three budget AM5 PCs for friends and family so far. these rigs were intended to be upgradeable in the future. After some compatibility issues with an MSI board (am5 was really new and bios/memory compatibility was crap then) i switched to ASRock and stayed with it ever since. no issues so far.
Boards i used:
1. ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2:
-about 120 bucks
-proven to be able to handle the 7950x under all core load in cinebench
-2 M.2 slots (1 pcie 5.0)
-only 2 RAM slots (not really an issue)
-no 3 pin ARGB headers though!
2. ASRock B650M PRO RS:
-about 140 bucks
difference to the HDV/M.2: some white paint, a little bit of RGB, 4 RAM slots, a third M.2 slot (two lanes only) and most crucial: some 3 pin ARGB headers!
3. ASRock B650M PG Riptide
-about 160 bucks (not really budget anymore imo)
-a bit like the PRO RS with some RGB but in black
-beefier voltage regulation

Well the 7800x3d is good for gaming but apart from that the i7 14700k is overall a more powerful one with way higher single and multi core performance . Honestly would not choose a cpu only for gaming but for the overall performance across all workloads.
You can get the 12700k for around $200/250 and it has 8 cores easily outperforming the 12600k, so its the 12600k that makes no sense right now unless you find one for less than $150 and are willing to settle on performance which makes no sense since you can get the 12700k for a similar price.

Actually 13400/F has better power efficiency. It deserves higher position.
7950x3d also deserves higher position. I mean, its high end/high performance product. But it still offers low wattage per frame, unlike intel. That is something.
