    That was a fun exploration; recognized most of the vehicles on show. No fire, no massacre, no famine, no murder, no thirst, no desperation, nothing sad involved this time around :-)

    Neat explore and video! The Ralph Foster Museum at the College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri has the real Beverly Hillbillies truck ... which is actually a converted 1921 Oldsmobile 43-A roadster. I use to see some of these movie cars being sold at auction in Auburn, Indiana. Museums closing and selling off their exhibits, and selling off cars to buy another one for their collection. The two I remember the most was the car in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and one of the original Batmobiles.

    I wonder how many of the cars are originals?
    With many productions involving cars, they like to have 2 or 3 of each car, depending on what they're doing. Some may have evidence of having cameras mounted on them.
    The exception, of course, is "Dukes Of Hazard: they used nearly 400 Chargers during the run of the show, and John Schneider has one of the originals at his studio in Louisiana. Not sure how many survived, but they did sell off many of the easily rebuildable General Lee's.
    The MGB, I believe, is from the Eddie Murphy film "Norbit".
    (Hint: if you ever stumble across "The Lesley Special" from the film "The Great Race", the original of the 3 or 4 cars they used has an automatic transmission, because Tony Curtis couldn't drive a manual!)
    Am thinking when I rebuild the outhouse at one of my mine claims, I'm going to make it look like a Tardis...🤣

    • @PinInTheAtlas
      @PinInTheAtlas  2 месяца назад +2

      Yes they did have many cars for each film.
      I definitely want a Tardis. Would make our lives a lot easier 🤣

    Hi Andrea & Steven, Ralph here, again. Had to come back for more after being away for so long. I really enjoy your videos and personalities. I’m glad Wonderhussy turned me onto you. I googled Rusty’s museum and you’re in Jackson, Tennessee. Boy, you guys get around! Tonto’s getting a hell of a workout… lol.
    Now about Breaking Bad. I missed it when it first came out. I kind of don’t like watching series on live tv cause of commercials & having to wait every week. So I like to let them build up and wait till the seasons end. Then I’ll stream them so I can binge the bejesus out of them. So when I went over to my sister’s to house sit, I found out she had Netflix with all seasons of Breaking Bad on there. So I was like, I need to give this show a whirl. So I hunkered down and fired it up. And, boy howdy, am I glad I did. I don’t know exactly how your tastes run when it comes to certain shows, but this one is fan-fricken-tastic! There’s 5 seasons, so you’ll have to dedicate yourselves to it, but it’ll be worth it. And the other great thing about it is being introduced to Bob Odenkirk as Saul Goodman (it’s all good man) of Better Call Saul fame. That guy is the greatest actor! Cause if you finish watching all of Breaking Bad, you may as well jump on over to Better Call Saul and binge on all 6 seasons of that. WHEW!

    • @PinInTheAtlas
      @PinInTheAtlas  2 месяца назад +1

      Well Ralph we might give it a go. It’s difficult when you’re on the road full time with no internet. Have to rely on hotspots plus getting the time to watch a series especially if it’s a good one.
      Glad you’re still enjoying our explores. We’re doing a lot of variety too.
