    I had no idea there was a free version of Trigger
    How reassuring that anywhere you go no matter the situation you can always download Trigger and save the mix with these amazing samples
    Thank you

    Been using Trigger 2 for a few years now. If I don't do the recording, or don't have what I need Trigger 2 is the best, most efficient for workflow option and my go-to.

    I love this series Kenny. It inspired me to start working on techniques that let me import a drum loop, split it into individual hits, and replace the original sounds with my sample library of hits.

    Great as always, but what I was missing in the last videos and not quite clear here is if theres a velocity sensitivity, there might be songs where all is fine with one sample, but other will need more dynamics in the drums,and that would be great!

    • @SaintLuminus
      @SaintLuminus 11 месяцев назад

      Yes there is velocity sensitivity. You can adjust how sensitive in the plugin but right off the bat softer snare hits trigger a different sample than harder snare hits. Its pretty good.

    You could also use the drag midi option to just use trigger's midi triggering, and then use whatever samples you want with a sampler like you did previously, but now you have velocity that also got tracked.

    This is almost what I'm looking for… Does the paid for version include multi samples for different velocities (very important for me!)?

    • @djabthrash
      @djabthrash 7 месяцев назад +1

      YES
      It only comes with multi samples for different velocities actually :)
      They are TCI files (you can also make your own btw), which are a Slate thing. You load the "sound" and it is a multi sample/multivel thing already, just like on your favourite Drums VSTi (Superior Drummer, GGD, ...).
      No one-shot samples here !
      The samples that come with the free version are also TCI files actually. You can see that in the video at 02:26 (in the browser in loads up .tci files).
      The paid version comes with WAY MORE samples (like a shit ton), and also extra features like the instrument editor, which allows you to do your own tci files for trigger 2 (which means your own drum sample library, compatible with trigger 2).

      I've got such a convoluted set up, myself and I don't know whether it's worth worth the investment to change it's because I don't know whether it will make workflow easier at the expense of sound?

    Great, I have a lot of TCI files stored on my server, I downloaded them 2 years ago, I didn't know what to do with them, I didn't have an idea, where I had it from, from Slate of course. In the past there were a lot of free library's. What I miss here is a BPM counter. Would be convenient. Or i missed it in the review and video. BTW are those samples from CLA? They sound like it?

    • @djabthrash
      @djabthrash 7 месяцев назад

      "What I miss here is a BPM counter"
      What do you mean exactly by that and what for ?
      You have the BPM displayed in the transport bar of Reaper already, and you can activate the metronome.

  • @ReNoMellow
    @ReNoMellow Год назад +2

    Sorry Kenny, but it's a no on this one.
    Trigger is made to be use on an stereo aux tracks where signal you want to trig send on the left (channel 1) and signal you want to reject on right channel 2)
    Then use the "suppress" button to reject what you don't want
    Example for snare triggering
    Send your top snare track to the left channel of trigger track and send kick and toms tracks to the right channel. Place suppress to 75 to 100 percent and now, the kick and toms will be ignored by the triggering even with low treshold and high sens...

    • @BeesWaxMinder

      Do you know of a cheap(free?) way to load multi samples that can be triggered via velocity for drone replacement, please?

    • @tomodowd3242
      @tomodowd3242 Год назад +1

      I get your point , but from using this I only found I needed to use this method if I had to much bleed in my tracks , sometimes some light snare hits can be the same the volume as the kick drum bleed on that mic , the way you explained here is ideal
      To make sure you don’t trigger any bleed hits by accident , otherwise the way Kenny used it here is perfect and it’s works most of the time!

      Using Trigger 2 is way faster than using ReaSamplomatic 5000, and ReaSamplomatic doesn't come with drum samples.
      Not to mention TCIs and all that good stuff from Trigger 2.
