A lost Gem in the sea of anime, pround for those who find this gem Edit: after 2 years looking back to this and it still make me cry. Edit again: lol im still here and still cry from this farewell
I went into watching this anime expecting a horror anime but I wasn’t disappointed. This anime got me in tears. One of the best anime’s I’ve seen till this day.
When people watch this scene without watching from the start, they won't understand how sad this scene is. The character development between those two is what makes this scene amazing
I tell you this man. I was going to start to watch this but this appeared at the most popular side of youtube. So o watched it. Not seeing the anime yet but this scene already struck me.so hard my face started to cramp and my whole boy was goosebumped.
What I love about this scene is despite its theme and settings: parting ways with a ghost, the dead telling the living to live on to the best of their abilities, it is something you can actually relate to. We will all have to deal with grief one day. Our loved ones can be taken away from us suddenly by random events. We might see them fade away slowly, as if their souls slowly leave us and their husks behind, in dementia. Then, one day, we will all be Yuuko-san: fading away. The best thing we can do then is face the inevitability with a smile and encourage the living to go on.
@@NikonWBI'd say probably because it could not have been any more true. Our own mortality is not something that most people give serious thought to every day, so when we do, it's only natural that it makes us sad. But that is the price we pay because, in return, it puts things into perspective. What are the things that we still want to try to achieve in our lives which, if we died tomorrow, our spirit would regret not having even attempted in that life? The realisation that we would probably have some regrets if that happened is what makes us sad, maybe even frustrated with ourselves that we still haven't made time to attempt those things and chase those dreams. And, just like Yuuko tries to convince Teiichi to do, those feelings of sadness and frustration will hopefully be enough to make us realise we should be doing our utmost to lead the most fulfilling life we can.
This may be the best emotional scene in any form media I've seen. I don't cry at all and this scene along with the song hits me every time. Nothing but praise for the Anime and a must watch. Just make sure you have onions near you so you can explain why your eyes are tearing up XD
She couldn't leave Techii, they both loved each other dearly. When Techii passes away though, that is when they will both go on to the afterlife and be at peace. XD
I am normally a very strong person, and I barely even get emotional, but this scene makes me cry so hard every time. There are also a few other scenes in Tasogare Otome x Amnesia that have made me cry, making my heart ache with pain from the sorrow of their breakup. The end of this episode caught me by surprise, and I never expected it. But it was also a relief, almost like my heart and mind was given a pain killer. I again cried out of happiness and joy upon seeing the end. Will never forget this.
I read the manga, it was an emotional rollercoaster. The manga drawings are honestly really great and it was hard to believe it's from 2010, also the manga is one of my top 10 favorites of all time
After people comment about the ending in manga i just read it the last and it was satisfying. Youko can go out of the school in manga and at the end youko wanted to get married with teichii.
@@marioremy4693 If I remember correctly, Yuuko finally show Teichi the whole story of her past and how she died. It gets long but basically, the old village where Yuuko lived was afflicted by a epidemic and the elders decided to sacrifice one of them in the hopes of getting rid of the epidemic. Yuuko disagreed to this, saying the elders are still sticking to their old traditions. However, they go it it anyway and state that they will sacrifice her sister. When she tries to stop this by going into the temple basement, there they reveal the she herself is the sacrifice and her sister being the sacrifice was just a ruse to lure her. So they leave her in the basement, broke one of her legs and sealed the entrance. There, Yuuko dies of starvation, but not before swearing to the deity that she will come back as a vengeful spirit to exact revenge on those who have wronged her, including her sister. However, even the act of making her the sacrifice did not stop the epidemic as more people died before it finally stopped. Her sister, regretting having fooling her sister decides to get her out. However it was too late as Yuuko was dead. Then, Yuuko's spirit tried to kill her, but the love of her sister was too strong for her to do the act. After showing to Teichi the whole story, her spirit was ready to pass on. However, Teichi begging her to stay made her not want to go, but she disappears anyway. It was then revealed that Teichi has disappeared for three days due to this and Kirie (Yuuko's grand niece) found him at the said basement where he was beside her remains. Sadly before they could properly bury her, the old school buildings where the basement was were demolished by Yuuko's sister who was by then the principal of the school. Teichi was briefly on the state of dispair after this, but the realized that not being with him was Yuuko's last regret. So he decides to bring her back through spreading the last school mystery about Yuuko's lover (Yuuko's sister stated that there was no seventh mystery and it was made seven to make it sound more appealing). Because of this, Yuuko was able to come back to Teichi. Two bonus chapters were made after this but that would take long for me to explain what had happened.
To me the good ending went from bittersweet to horror in an instant. Think about it. Teiichi is now in love with a ghost and will spend his life with his ghost wife whom only he can see (and Kirei). He will never love another woman or father a child. His line will fade from the world. The only silver lining is when his time is up, he and Yuuko will fade away together. Or hang around together forever as a ghost couple. You know what we call people who is in love with something only they can see? Schizophrenics. This scene is beautiful since it's analogous to how real humans have to deal with loss and grief. A more realistic ending will be for Teiichi to let go of Yuuko, then marry Kirei. Kirei is shown in the manga to be exactly like Yuuko if she has long hair.
Why do people keep commenting about how sad the anime ending is? Did you guys not watch the last episode? You do know she doesn't come back for good in the manga but does in the anime right? I think people are confused. Not to mention her not coming back holds way more emotional weight. Magically making her come back feels like a cop out.
@@mwwq1 yeah the ending killed that moment. This happy ending seems kinda unrealistic and unreasonable to me. It'd be better if this farewell would be the ultimate ending and then in the credit scene they meet with eachother in the afterlife.
