We have successfully deployed hundreds if not thousands of Grandstream phones in the last five years. Including these cordless phones.
Like any other product, the key is being fully trained and knowing the strengths, weaknesses of any phone. Installed by a qualified person, Grandstream offers tremendous value in their products. We have them in all sorts of places from dentist offices to car dealerships.
Premise/UCM or hosted, both. We have a 500+-phone real real estate multi-site Grandstream UCM network where, in almost five years, we've had under 5 phones fail. We have a chain of car dealerships up and down the West Coast, same deal.
You'd never see that with most brands. Again, it is all about knowing your product. Same is true for Yealink, Snom, Fanvil, Cisco, Mitel.
Have installed phones a LONG time and from experience I can say without a doubt when someone says "I HATE this" or "this is Garbage" it is 99% of the time because the person does not know the product nor do they bother to learn it.
As far as professionals go, they are fully trained on something else, and LOVE that though. It is always the case. Hate what you don't know.

Can I use this with a POTS line if I pair it with a UCM product?

I am using DP750 and DP720 handsets. These are working fine. But i figureed out a small issue which is misleading. Suppose one of the DP720 is switched off and that particular extensions is called, i can see a response which is "BUSY HERE", which was suppose to be "USER UNAVAILABLE". I could not find any option to make this right. The local support says nothing can be done. It seems like a very small configuration issue, but i dont know why Grandstream did not handle it or if the solution is already there, i dont know how to get hold of the relevent document. If anyone can guide, it would be a great help.

Hi, I am confused. Would this product be appropriate given that I have a couple of landlines (office line and fax line) through Charter? It appears that this product is set up for internet phone services such as Vonage? Need for callers to have the option to choose persons/departments and be routed to them while also being able to leave voicemails to the designated person in the office. Please clarify. Much appreciated!

DP750 doesn't support roaming between multiple base station. You can manually switch your handset between different stations, or use DP760 repeater to extend a station's signal range.

How do you answer the GS-DP720 when the call is put on hold from another extension? I know this sounds like a dumb question but I can not figure it out :(

This sounds like a call park/retrieve feature which is usually supported by the PBX, what PBX or SIP service are you using? If you are using Grandstream UCM as your PBX, please check: www.grandstream.com/sites/default/files/Resources/ucm6510_usermanual.pdf on page 326. First, create a parking lot and assign these extensions to the same parking lot. then during the active call, dial *72 to park the call. then DP720 can retrieve the call by dial parking lot number. If you are using other PBX or SIP Server, you might want to check their document on how to park and retrieve a call.

these would be cool if the handsets actually worked with the base sets. They never work. they are not intended to work together. don't bother. they are garbage. I have returned every single Grandstream set I have ever purchased, and gave up on them after 11 consecutive RMAs. they are black bricks with little backlights that will never work. they are not designed to be phones, they are designed to be garbage. Grandstream needs to shut down finally. This is exactly why the vast majority of carriers will no longer support them. Grandstream won't even back their own product any more.

Hi Errol, this is Shawn from Grandstream, sorry to hear the problem you've met. The handset DP720 and base station DP750 are not pre-paired when delivery, did you try to pair them following the quick installation guide inside the box, but that never worked? Could you please give me the opportunity to fix the issue and help us improve the products? if you don't feel comfortable to discuss on RUclips publicly, You can send me private messages over RUclips or just email me at shaw.deng(at)grandstream.com, I'm looking forward to hearing from you, thanks!

I have to add onto this that I have worked on VoIP PBX's for over 5 years and while I love the vast majority of Grandstreams products (affordable and reliable), this is one of the products that always gave me and my customers issues. I stopped installing them over 2 years ago when a customer dropped me because of the problems with the cordless.
However, I have used their WiFi Cordless since (the WP810 and WP820) to great success! The 820 has this nice roaming value that can be set that allows for better handling of the SIP packets when moving around and your wifi strength fluctuates.

@D R I would still stick with some Grandstream products for nothing else but the affordability. Most work without issue when configured correctly. I havent even tried the new DECTs yet because of my absolute hatred of the old ones haha but I should at least try it for my home for a little bit first.
I would also consider the 820 if you havent yet. Really solid cordless.
