Dwight Yoakam and Ry Cooder are music legends never to be forgotten..Dwight Yoakam is sensational and his sound and guitar playing is awesome..Country music is a fame of life..Ry Cooder and his slide on his guitar is overwhelmingly good..Great performance and sensational entertainment..
The solo in the second song...That's pure, simple, and elegant...now you try it. Ry hears the space between the notes and gives everybody room and support. As Ry said to Dwight in the intro..I say to him.."Thank you sir"
The first song is Buck Owens " Streets of Bakersfield". Can someone help with the name of the second song, and identify the instrument Ry Cooder is playing in it?
romus68 I agree with you, Ry Cooder does not copy and is one of the greatest unique picker and sliders there ever was. I am a big fan of his. In fact he inspires my own style. I'd probly have a hard time playing with Dwight too. I didn't mean to come across so harsh : )
Ry Cooder is a Legend who has played all over the world with some of the finest musicians who have ever lived, recorded dozens of records ,scored multiple films ,won grammys and influenced Millions. And you are? Good luck with your next Moose Lodge gig. I'm sure you'll pack en in.

Their harmonies are sublime and Ry Cooder is astounding in his technique!

Look what I stumbled upon tonight? Wow, this is really cool.
One of the clearest, cleanest voices in music. Beautiful.

These two harmonize well! Thank you, biamaku, for all your wonderful videos!

The spirit of Buck Owens.
Are you kidding horse, Ry is playing all the complicated licks ! Although Dwight has a great voice.

One of my favourite Dwight songs.Red dresses..superb
2nd song is Beautiful !
mikedicko1 it is one of my favorite songs. And while this version is beautiful....listen to it with Flaco Jimenez on the accordion with Dwight.
Second song: Buenas Noches From A Lonely Room (She Wore Red Dresses)
thanks for the post , love it
Good God ,more please!
Flaco would make it perfect! Great song, great musicians!
Classy act, but the camera operator ignores Ry. Why?
Stranger Horse..i agree..you cannot compete with Dwight,he is the Best
Love it
Ry makes that song interesting!
Two legends but still lacks Flaco Jimenez to make it perfect.
Good old American music
In één woord : geweldig
"But the pain and the anger destroyed my weak mind/"
Buck approves !!!!
Don Rich too!!
Give him a dime for Ry, but I'll take a 'Buck' anytime.
The first song is Buck Owens " Streets of Bakersfield".
Can someone help with the name of the second song, and identify the instrument Ry Cooder is playing in it?
Thanks, Russ. Appreciate the help.
Cooder plays bouzouki (trad. greek instrument with 4 double strings) in the second song.
Actually they call it a mando-guitar, 8 strings, in Ry's case, tuned like differently than an Irish bouxouki.
Streets of Bakersfield written by Homer Joy.
Looks like a bazouki Ry is playing
Mandola

Not joined you to not Ka 😃
nope, and no sir. ry cooder meets a genre that he can't copy. he's good at what he does but this is an embarrassing failure : )
+Stranger Horse Ry copies nothing. I have to disagree, Mr Horse.

he grew up playing this kind of stuff
I LOVE Ry Cooder's glorious riffs on Streets of Bakersfield... can't get more country than that.
