How to make setups: spending a whole week testing in tt, gp mode and multiplayer to then get rekt by pad users at the start and the race get ruined in T1👀
Very good video. I've always wanted to test something like this but I simply lack in race pace consistency (I just make a lot of mistakes). Maybe in the future you can make a video about how to tweak a dry setup in order to make it suitable for a wet race
Great video!! Been wanting a video like this for years (from someone at the absolute top). Thank you! Now I’ll have to check what I can and what I can’t change due to the park fermè rules... Probably only the wings if I remember correctly. But yh, thanks a lot!
Man I bought my first wheel just one month ago, I'm still a turtle but I learn so much from your videos. Thanks for the awesome content, be patient and community will follow!
Jarno Opmeer used a time trial setup for his Japan short league race a few weeks ago, but mentioned that time trial setups have higher downforce than race setups, and this hurts generating ERS (especially on tracks without hard-braking like Japan short), is this true? can you elaborate, since you only mentioned difference in tire wear, but not ERS (which is unlimited in time trial ofc)
great info, but my only issue is finding a good way to practice. I'm on Xbox so idk if its different to pc but every mode feels completely different. Like grand prix practice mode, grand prix full 50% race, online practice sessions, doing the league glitch. It all feels different so I never know what to expect and I never really know how my car will feel in the race until it starts lol so I have no idea how to make these adjustments.
Other way around over steery setups tend to be very quick but you have to know the limits and how to control it and could also be a bit bad on tyre wear if you can’t control it from sliding most of the time, you want to aim for more in the middle but not too much towards understeery because that is just slow in general so like what josh said you could change the oversteer setup by lowering the rear camber a bit and increasing the front same with the ride height
Any higher in the rear sus and roll bar than 8 and i lose the back end or over rotate. Im having to run 1-7.. 2-7.... Again its kind like the ballast nonsense from the last years., Exploit the game physics to be faster. This is why alot of hard core sim racers hate this game.
It's not much like a car due to all the shortcuts taken, there's so many quirks that need to be avoided or abused and it's annoying as hell. But since it's a game they have to sell and be accessible for as many as possible, we'll have to live with it.
Josh reads my mind, this is exactly the video i wanted to see in my feed

Big thank you for this video ! I have always wondered the difference between a race setup and a TT setup and you answered my question 😊
Nice video, i always struggle to get the perfect setup for the race coming from tt and this makes sense now, thanks man good work
Could you do something about setups in the wet vs setups in the dry?

you could not of released this at a better time josh! Bravo 👏

meanwhile i use 1-7 1-7 suspension, i might have been way too conservative...
Is that a setup you would recommend because im prepping for a league race and can't sort out a setup for bahrain for the life of me
I just changed things on the spot but the setup didn’t feel to bad. Good starting point👍

Can you tell me how much fast can we go using G29? It can't be at Fanatec level, right? Or it can be

u r one speedy boi
So you say that you should use more understere setups than oversteere setups ?

Really helpful video 😀
nice man

Thank yooooooooooou

I don't recommend doing that lol
