Felt I needed to comment - not here to be negative… here to help refine the process for smaller businesses whilst keeping them legal too 👍 Appreciate that most small business owners won’t know their legal obligations, but they really shouldn’t add GA to websites via the header without some form of cookie control/consent process. Things do vary by territory, but the need for user consent before tracking is pretty global. Best solution - for small biz - is to add the GA tracking code via a cookie consent plugin. Most will handle the important legal parts via the free plugin versions (multi-regional consent handling via paid for options). Bigger biz should use a cookie consent plugin aligned with GTM for further granularity. Remains super simple to implement with added protection for both the end user and biz owner.

I followed your instructions up until the point where you copy and paste the new GA4 tag into the header section of WP, but there's a problem...I already have the GA3 tag from Universal Analytics installed, WHAT am I supposed to do at this point. should I delete the old GA3 tag and paste the new GA4 tag in its place or should I leave the old tag in place and paste the new tag along with the GA3 tag meaning I'll have two GA tags in the header? I'm confused, please clarify this for me. Thanks
Thanks! But why the UA cannot show the data comparison with past data(e.g. Today vs the same day of last year)? Is it usual? Also, my analytics App cannot show the real time data while the desktop version can. Do you have the same problem? Thanks
So thanks for the video the best one yet but whe n I finished and retuned to my analytics the site still says This property has stopped processing data. To continue measuring website performance, set up a Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property. This has been so frustrating
Actually @@StewartGauld your set up wasn't even close to getting this done right . I found a tech company in India and we did a zoom and what we had to to do to get this working wasn't remotely close to what what you had us do and needed to be done to get the new G4 done. Not even close
Hi Stewart, I logged into my dash board but I cannot see set up GA4 assistant, I have looked under property to see if I needed to switch but that does not work as I cannot see the word universal under Property or Property Access Management. Any ideas what I should do next. I am based in the UK so maybe it has not been rolled out yet.
Your tutorials are excellent and elderly- friendly in terms of learning curve and listening tome. I want to set up a phone application for both systems to set up a shopping cart only to collect money through Paypal and Google pay . My eyesight is weak, so I want to operate my single person business out of smart phone. I have email database of customers and I just want to send them the link to download the app and order the merchandise. Please guide us. Thank you.

Your welcome. If you have WordPress you can uninstall the monster insights plugin.

Hey mate,
It's fine to have both tags. This means you can still generate analytics from both until UA stops working.

UA is no longer active and functioning. I will have to look into that.

You can also just go through the process of adding a new property for your new GA4 account.

Yes you do, if you only have Universal Analytics installed.

Can i ask why the extra plugin is needed? Can you not just copy the new measurement ID and paste it over the current one? Many thanks.
Yes you can do this. Ideally, you wont to keep both UA and GA4 until the complete shift in July.
