Canon Printer Does Not Detect Ink Cartridge iX6820 250 251

If you get a "missing ink cartridge" error, then let's try to get rid of the problem. In this video, I go over some points where to check when your printer will not accept ink cartridge.
The printer used in the video is Canon Pixma iX6820. This concept will apply to most Canon printers that use four, five, six, seven, or eight cartridge systems. For example, 250, 251, 270, 271 cartridges in the US and Canada.

I have a canon 5520 and it looks like a pin for the magenta cartridge is missing. Can I purchase a new carriage unit? As it is now the cartridge is lighting up but error 1660 is still coming up. Thanks for any help.

I have been having issues with the black 251 lighting up on the top. Everything I print lately is very dull and gray. I tried 5 different 251's and still get a light. any suggestions?

It seems that your printhead may be partially clogged. Most likely, the main black cartridge is not putting out any color at all. Try cleaning the printhead like innthis video:
