Nobody does it better Dave. I’m over 70 and music like yours is hard to come by. It really lifts my spirit. My wife and I truly enjoy it and also your conservative composure. From 2 very grateful Canadians.
Brings back so many good memories....I was blessed that my Mom, could play a steel guitar..Now she is playing with the 😇...,MOM, miss you so much and love you....
Wonderful rendition. Each listening keeps me grounded. Reminded of a few years back when my sister and I played and sang this for our dear mother in nursing home. Unable to sing she moved mouth with song, smiled, shed tears and motioned for us to sing it again. Passed over to heaven not many weeks after. Thanks Dave for your bolstering of this memory.
My grandpa passed recently after playing steel for 64 years and they played this song at his funeral. Thanks for the beautiful music, it helps me to remember him.
Love this song its the best music to listen to when you feel down in the dumps , you can just know that God loves you & can listen to this beautiful song . And know God is aways with you when you need him the most , he will never leave us along .
The same with both my parents, we lost our first Grand daughter as a cot death and the version by Daniel O'Donnell helped us a lot. Beautiful hymn. God bless.
Sweet memories of my brother. They called him "Steel Man Ray"..a legend in his own time in our homeland. Vermont Strong, sadly he passed on June 24, 2017 and requested this beautiful hymn to be played at his memorial services. Thank you for this beautiful version, as always beautiful smooth tone..Blessings..peace & love.
Such a moving presentation of a classic hymn!! Even here on the other side of the pond, your music is quite moving. It is tremendously inspirational to me as a beginning pedal steel student. Thank you for the inspiration!! God is good ALL the time!!
I sure am glad to know that because Jesus sled His Blood on the Rugged O'l Cross. I know that my name is written down in GOD's "Book of Life" I sure Hope that their will be Steel Guitar music there in Heaven.
There won't be any electricity in heaven--no need. There may be an instrument there that sounds even better than a steel guitar. The music in heaven played by Holy angels and God of course is much different than here. Ellen White a prophetess who was taken to heaven in vision many times said: "I have been shown the order, the perfect order, of heaven, and have been enraptured as I listened to the perfect music there. After coming out of vision, the singing here has sounded very harsh and discordant. I have seen companies of angels, who stood in a hollow square, everyone having a harp of gold. At the end of the harp was an instrument to turn to set the harp or change the tunes. Their fingers did not sweep over the strings carelessly, but they touched different strings to produce different sounds. There is one angel who always leads, who first touches the harp and strikes the note, then all join in the rich, perfect music of heaven. It cannot be described. It is melody, heavenly, divine, while from every countenance beams the image of Jesus, shining with glory unspeakable." {Cch p.172}

What is it with those Raines guitars and you wonderful hands, there's a magic haunting the whole tune in the lower mid to upper bass rage that really stands out compared to average players like myself.
