@FanboyFlicks, Another great episode, Mark! I always look forward to your new episodes and this one did not disappoint. I was surprised though that you didn't throw in any jokes or references to Karate Kid 2 since the guys that played the Eastern Alliance also played Uncle Sato and Chozen from Mr. Miyagi's hometown in KK2. Maybe this was an early attempt to create a cinematic universe where the characters would cross film genres. Maybe at the end of KK2, Sato and Chozen were cryogenically frozen and then thawed out in 2035 so they could rise to power, gain control of a giant robot, and then track down Mr. Miyagi and Daniel-San in order to exact some long-overdue revenge. Of course, that means Mr. Miyagi and Daniel-San would also have to have been frozen...okay there are a number of plot holes here but clearly, the makers of this film weren't trifled by such things. I might be grasping here. Oh well, great episode and keep them coming!
I'm sure there diabolical ChoseN, ways could come up with a way to make that plan s reality, just look at that ghost 👻 town. But what they didn't t count on was Stumpy the time warrior crossing their path.
There needs to be a term for when movie characters refrain from using their overwhelming power until after they've already taken major damage or fought enemies using more difficult and dangerous methods. Like in the beginning of Phantom Menace when Neesons drops down off a higher level to fight a bunch of droids by hand, only to finish off the last few with a trivial little force blast. He could have done that while he was still lounging up top!
I was directed here via Robot Jox, which is one of my favourite films. I had been wracking my brain trying to remember the third film in the series by this production company. Robot Jox was first, this debacle was second and the last was Crash And Burn. If you think Robot Wars was rubbish, you should try to see Crash And Burn. It makes Robot Wars look like a Hollywood blockbuster. Please review it.
As a 6 year old, this was the first movie I ever saw in theatres. I didn't know what was going on, I didn't know what story narrative even was or how to follow it, but I definitely knew those robots were miniatures and nowhere near the size to fit the humans in. 🙃
Wait, this movie had a theatrical run? It's not even feature length and most FULL MOON productions went straight to video. What city were you in at the time? You might be one of only a dozen people to see this movie on the silver screen, and that's pretty cool! :) Cheers.
@@Pocketrocket-pj1us You know what, I'm sorry. I thought that this was Robot Jox. Especially when the title is "One of the Worst Movies of the 90s!" But as Mark started to review the clips, I said, "waitaminute... this isn't the same movie!; It's a much better one!" So maybe you're right that Robot Wars was never in theatres. I was a bit older in 1993 (than when I saw Robot Jox in 1990), and I don't remember seeing Robot Wars ever being shown. Sorry for the confusion! But what a nice trip down memory lane for me; We were dumb enough to think in the year 2000, some of these things might actually happen!; Flying cars, wars in space, android humans that look like robots, etc.

I think that Mark makes these videos as an excuse to throw rants about mundane things, like the heavy old TVs. I have to say that those are my favorite parts of his videos 😂
Robot Jox was one of my absolute favorites when it came out. I knew it was crap, but I didn't care. I have no idea how it compares to this one (same cinematic universe sorta).
If 2021 is a sequel to 2020, I'd consider it the The Empire Strike Back of the series. Not in the sense it was better in general, but just from a movie-making standpoint, it built on a lot of the concepts already established in 2020 and it added its own unique twists in a way that kept things lively. I mean the opening scene in the first week alone, had you right on the edge of the your seat, and that's the kind of thing you want in a movie.
As always, your videos lift my spirits for the rest of the day. :) I also have a suggestion for what you could review in the future: Future War. A movie from 1997 that could be described as a haphazard and hilariously indept mishmash of Jurassic Park, The Terminator and Universal Soldier. I'm not sure if I would describe it as so bad it's good, but it's definitely worth a place on your list of reviewed terrible movies. Take care!

Hahahaah bus carpet, that’s the perfect way to describe that design!
Oh my god that “look at it”! By Mark was priceless, I’ve seen all of his videos and that was the hardest I’ve ever laughed, ever!
Does anyone else speak in unison when Mark says: "Hey guys, welcome back TO the show"
I just can't help myself 😁
Only veterans.
Welcome TO.. the show ranks right up there with barely an inconvenience.
Mark's the man 😎
It's got Barbara Crampton and was part of the Charlie Band straight to VHS schlock-fest and It's still better than Champagne and Bullets right? lol.
Came here to say this!
@@onjohns1 great minds think alike 😅🤣😂
I'm sure there diabolical ChoseN, ways could come up with a way to make that plan s reality, just look at that ghost 👻 town. But what they didn't t count on was Stumpy the time warrior crossing their path.
I saw this on the sci-fi channel as a kid and have been trying to remember the title for over 25 years. You just made my day.
I didn't know what was going on, I didn't know what story narrative even was or how to follow it,
but I definitely knew those robots were miniatures and nowhere near the size to fit the humans in. 🙃
Wait, this movie had a theatrical run? It's not even feature length and most FULL MOON productions went straight to video. What city were you in at the time?
You might be one of only a dozen people to see this movie on the silver screen, and that's pretty cool! :)
Cheers.
@@Pocketrocket-pj1us You know what, I'm sorry. I thought that this was Robot Jox. Especially when the title is "One of the Worst Movies of the 90s!"
But as Mark started to review the clips, I said, "waitaminute... this isn't the same movie!; It's a much better one!"
So maybe you're right that Robot Wars was never in theatres.
It's not spoons but I do have a rather impressive Tamagotchi collection.
Vintage test tubes are highly sought after collectibles. I have test tubes from the 19th century,.. Test tube collections will soon be more valuable than Pokémon cards.. you'll see.
It's one of those odd films that took me years to track down a copy. Back in the day when video cassettes were a thing the trailer for this was included on pretty much every scifi tape I watched but no store ever had a copy of the actual movie.
Your videos are always entertaining. It's like watching a condensed version of Mystery Science Theater 3000 or RiffTrax. I love it.
It's rolled up with those and Cinematic Titanic in my bad movie diet, too. Mark's a real gem.
Dude, your in-movie skits are perfect! 10:36 was a line made for you
10:34 I've replayed this about 5 times and it still cracks me up.
P.S. Annie aka young Lisa Rinna can get the whoooolllleeee 4th letter of the alphabet IN UPPERCASE any day of the week.
She’s an absolute smoke show
“Well to bad.” Ha! Mark, you’ve done it again. Hilarious video. As usual, my favorite part was where you inserted yourself into the film. “Nano quantum plastic hybrid coated wires.” That was hilarious!
I’d pay to see this whole movie with Mark editted in over the main character.
LOOK AT IT!!!!!
Back in the day, I too got taken in by "First there was Robotjox" on the cover. I LOVE Robotjox, despite its being low budget and thought that this was some kind of sequel to it. Imagine my utter disappointment after I sat through this laughable excuse for a "Robot War". I had been punked. Badly.
Love the outburst where you inserted yourself. Hilarious! “Look at it!!”
omg so true about the Hornets jacket back in the day haha
really love the town from 1993 that isn't from 1993 haha
I think that Mark makes these videos as an excuse to throw rants about mundane things, like the heavy old TVs.
I have to say that those are my favorite parts of his videos 😂
I also love the moments when he simply gives up on trying to make sense of the movie lol
Oh 100%. Watching people get pissed about random minor stuff you yourself get pissed about will always be hilarious to me.
Robot Jox was one of my absolute favorites when it came out. I knew it was crap, but I didn't care. I have no idea how it compares to this one (same cinematic universe sorta).
You got me busting up laughing with that "look at it" skit 10:35
15:10 I think the bigger problem than the lights being on are fresh plants...
Thanks for another great video Mark. Love your work 🙏🏻
those outtakes at 23:54 have some strong "Orson Welles Champagne Ad bloopers" vibes.
_MAAAAAAAH the French!_
"LOOK AT IT!!" omg I lost it. hahahahaha!
I remember this movie, and I remember the disappointment. This video makes up for it.
As always, your videos lift my spirits for the rest of the day. :)
I also have a suggestion for what you could review in the future: Future War. A movie from 1997 that could be described as a haphazard and hilariously indept mishmash of Jurassic Park, The Terminator and Universal Soldier. I'm not sure if I would describe it as so bad it's good, but it's definitely worth a place on your list of reviewed terrible movies.
Take care!
What was that mech movie from the 80’s or 90’s where they fought in an arena? Loved that movie as a kid!
Robot Jox? The VHS had that awesome trailer for Arena as well, where a human fights cage matches with aliens and cyborgs. There's that one too.
@@BigMateo24 Robot Jox!!! Thats was it. Bad, cheesy movie, but for a kid watching robots fight was awesome!
Those old Scorpion buses are SO 1993.
When he (Mark) overacted that scene at 10:30 I literally spit laughed. I honestly thought I was choking to death. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Gods, I loved this movie as a 90s kid. Still do. Same with Robot-Jox.
Am I being racist but are the eastern alliance the villains from karate kid 2 one of them is definitely chozen
Mark, whenever you release a new video it is always the highlight of our day here at our house.
I loved Robot Jox as a kid but never even heard of this "sequel". O_o
Robot jox is awesome. Crash and Burn!
"I would tell her to leave the helmet on". lol
