- R2-D2 was told to remain at the ship, when Anakin left, eventually resulting in his fight with Obi Wan. What If R2-D2 Saved Anakin on Mustafar? Would R2 be able to get Anakin away from the planet? Would Anakin lose strength due to a lack of a need for the dark side? How would Anakin react to seeing his friend staying by his side? Would R2 saving Anakin lead to his turn to the light, or cementing himself in the dark?

I appreciate how R2-D2's portrayal allowed Anakin to absorb Vader, rather than simply flipping a switch. It seemed as though Vader, who had once consumed Anakin, was in turn absorbed by him, bringing balance through metamorphosis and genuine transformation. This act of self-liberation also freed others, culminating Anakin's lifelong struggle against the bondage that had ensnared him since childhood, not as a boy, nor as a Jedi, nor as a Sith, but simply as Anakin Skywalker.
Not to mention that, were a new jedi order (one perhaps more pursuant to the force itself, rather than light and dark) to arise from the ashes.. The patron saint they would follow is Anakin's example. Unlike the Jedi.. one falling to the temptations of the dark side is not lost. Only misguided. And with a gentle nudge, might be rekindled back into the light. An order of mercy, and uplifting, rather than one of rigid dogma.
Vader/anakin combining, is true balance to the force...

i think as the chosen one anakin was destined to have light and dark in him forever bc he is the force and the force is on both sides imo mace windu was the perfect master for him bc of his own experience of pulling power from his dark side emotions like anakin would

What we got: COMMITTING WARCRIMES WITH THE BOYS AT 3AM
Man, the thought of Artoo staying by Vader's side, and even joining him in killing Sidious, that is quite a roller coaster. The part with Yularen was also out of nowhere. Who knew our fave astromech could be so sadistic?
remember: this fucker spits oil and ignites it with its jets as his primary way of offence. and R2 is Anakin's Droid, who is well known War Criminal.

alright, I admit, "its-not-a-warcrime-the-first-time" R2D2 was not something I was expecting from this story, but I am 100% here for it.

I’ve seen tropes like this. It’s called the Regression trope/genre if I recall.
Sadly the only thing I can think of to give an example is Redo of Healer.

Palpatine's death here is more brutal than the canon version or any other AU what ifs.
R2 does not fuck around.
R2 is more likely to have engaged Obi wan as a threat because he was attacking Anakin, rather than just standing by. R2 would also not have just believed Palpatine over his own record of the situation. When Palpatine told Vader that he had killed Padme, R2 would likely have shown him his own records that she was alive when they brought her aboard the ship.
R2 would be smart enough not to try and intervene in a lightsaber duel.

It’s a mix of Depression and anger being only stuck in one dark room with no windows and going to sleep wake up enhance the power of Bacta and going to sleep again poor R2 he lasted so long before going absolutely mental on Palpatine and Yularen at the end

Big fan of number 10 I can see BOS and Enclave massacring legion upon legion of stormtroopers/droids, power armor and lasers/plasma vs more blasters than they could count

The Reapers would lose unless they were able to indoctrinate a faction (most likely the CIS or the Yuuzhan Vong because the Force would likely be able to counteract the mechanism of indoctrination)

This was amazing. I’ve been a fan of your videos for a while and it’s always fun to see your interesting SW what if’s. It was also fun to see R2-D2 saving Anakin on Mustafar getting shown some love. This is definitely an interesting scenario and it should definitely get shown some more love. Plus I think we can all agree that this absolutely something R2 would definitely do…he’s just best boy. Great job as always and I can’t wait to see what you do next.
I do have a few ideas for some possible what if’s:
1) What if Rey was a Mandalorian…essentially what if Din Djarin found Rey and took her in as a Foundling.
2) What if Ezra was a Mandalorian…something like how both his parents were Mandalorians who left Mandalore and went to start their own lives (you could still keep most of Ezra’s backstory) and potentially make Ezra and Sabine a couple (since Disney won’t, we have too…#ezrabine4ever.
3) What if Jango Fett and/or Boba Fett Joined the Republic…I think something interesting could happen with this.
4) What if Rey, Finn and Poe went back in time to the Clone Wars…this would make the World Between Worlds even more of an important focal point and I could also see them get along well with Anakin, Ashoka, Rex and the rest of the 501st (it would be fun to see Rey, Finn and Poe join the 501st)
I hope these are some amazing ideas for some potential What if’s
People seem to forget during the clone wars TV show. R2 has just many kills under his belt as Anakin does. Even the canon version of R2 was a menace. so this whole story I could totally see R2 doing if he actually stuck around because it fits his character
i mean in a cannon comic, R2 literary took on a single star destroyer and won (chewie modified his weapon system for his solo mission to save C3PO!)

Nah, his balls definitely melted on Mustafar.
We don't see this side of R2 in the movies, but read Dark Empire and you see him kill a whole bunch of crewmen by crashing the World Devastators into each other. And if memory serves, he also crashed the Eclipse II into the Galaxy Gun in Dark Empire II, which also blew up Byss . So, between the World Devastators, the Eclipse II, and Byss, Chopper may have been a Psychopath, but add the millions on board the first Death Star to those listed above, R2 is a stone killer, a side that PPSW captures well here. Grand story, especially R2 blowing up Yularen and old Palps with Nanobombs. Two thumbs up, fun for the whole family
and in cannon, he literally went ham inside a star destoryer, causing more chaos than chopper could do, just rescuing C3PO. Just Imagine if he was there to end that star destroyer!
Day 2: What if Anakin was a powerful force sensitive smuggler born on Kessel but the Jedi/Sith could only feel his presence once he was doing a job on Coruscant during the Clone Wars.

Maybe you could do this in the future for a similar video involving Vader turning back to the light, but anyways I've always wondered why no what if creators ever explore the idea of Vader getting lung transplants, skin grafts (from unfortunate donors, or maybe dead people depending on how in the light he is lol), hair transplant, etc. I mean this stuff is all possible in our world, I'm sure in star wars this stuff could be done all in one procedure and turn out much better than irl, making Anakin pretty much as he was in ROTS.

Wow this was a great story and great idea. I love R2-D2’s character and he works so perfectly with Vader here. I question if Palpteen would be stupid enough to try and have Anakin kill R2 but even that works in the story here
Sideous tends to have some tunnel vision during his most sadistic moments. Look at how he dropped his guard and got thrown down an exhaust shaft.
