I won't deny the sheer effort she's had to put in, but she's obviously one of the very few to have made it.
And I'm all the happier for her. Hate to see genuine effort to go in to the void
I think the lucky part about her career is that she's an exception to the rule. Normally, an indie vtuber cannot use their model once they join an agency, but Suisei was allowed to use hers. As a result, she got to keep her day 0 fans, and built her success in parallel to Hololive's goals.

Luck is a huge factor in everyone successful person's career. Most just don't like to admit it because they think it downplays their own effort. It doesn't downplay their effort but it's absolutely required. There's tons of other people just as talented who won't ever get noticed or have the opportunity due to bad luck.
