During his spotlight panel at Twin Tiers Comic Con in Elmira, New York, THE CROW creator James O'Barr spoke about the forthcoming film reboot, and why he's more excited for it than he was for the previous sequels.

I would like to see madhouse do the animation. If they got the character designer for Kawajiri's movies, (Ninja Scroll, Wicked City) that would be great.

Glad the remake didn't happen. Eric should be left with Brandon. Do an anthology series like the midnight legends comics that follows a different protagonist each season.

That's what I wanted to see, a faithful adaption closer to the book, like how they did Frank Miller's Sin City, we were robbed:/
James O'Barr is the man ! :) I love the original The Crow comic book and the movie with Brandon Lee and i became a huge fan thanks to both the comics and the movie :) . I really want the reboot to happen :) . It sounds exciting that they are going to adapt the whole comic book story :).
If they do the book like he says it should be amazing.
The "reboot" is misunderstood. I believe the movie keeps on being planned and cancelled because of the mixed opinions of fans.
But the re-imagination makes a lot of sense. It would be a more direct translation of the original comic as James O'barr intended. Back in the 90's "R-Rated" movies were not yet a thing. We got a lot of stylized violence and although the Brandon Lee film (iconic as it is) can never be replaced, I believe there is plenty of room for a modern day version of the franchise. I think it deserves a re-imagination. It worked for Dredd, it worked for The Punisher and it will totally make sense for The Crow.

A highly annoying Q&A session. I really wished that people would allow the man to talk without constant talking out loud. Please calm it, people! In the future slowly at a time. Its also such a shame that they finally remade it, shot last year in Prague in the Czech Republic. While I'll give it a shot I honestly only love one film in the franchise: The 1994 original. The rest are cinematic dog shit.
The Crow is one of those properties like the original director's cut of Highlander (1986): There should have only ever been one film. The rest are a total waste of time with _NO_ emotional impact whatsoever.

If James O’Barr really did start working on a comic book the Crow back in 1981 as he has stated; where is the artwork? Why have we never seen any of his very first drawings of Eric/the Crow? Countless other artists are happy to show off their first drawings of their famous characters. Where are the first drawing James O’Barr did of the Crow from 1981 till 1989? The reason you have never seen any of these drawings is because they don't exist. James O’Barr did not start working on the crow until Halloween night 1988. Now the only reasons he says he started the comic book back in 1981 was so that he could rip off me! So the next time you're at a comic book convention asked James O bar where is his original drawings from 1981 and why is none of his artwork from then dated? Observe his reaction; they will be the reactions of a liar and a thief and, someone who has no respect for the dead or living!

I think if they were gonna make another crow don't do a reboot of Brandon's because that's his and always will be but if they do a new 1 I would cast Jared padalecki as the crow
