I'm pretty sure those protesters weren't opposing the leftist city council members, they just wanted to push them further left.

I couldn't hear what the chanters were saying, but the announcer said the disruptions were caused by protesters who want Seattle to provide housing for asylum seekers? I have no sympathy for the City Council. They put up with protesters who block I-5 and encourage those who City streets, causing regular people to be late for work and appointments. The Seattle City Council defunded the police, but then call on their limited police force to protect Councilmember, while regular people are getting robbed and businesses are getting broken into. The City Council is simply experiencing the latest fruit of the disorder they have encouraged.
