I remember 2019 being the worst year of my life . I had found out that rock bottom had a basement during those time i really didn't think about seeing the end of the year but I did. I admit I am barely on the ground but one day I swear to myself I'll be more than ground. I am doing well but I want more and even better one day I'll fly in the sky .

Oh my god. 2019 was a terrible year for me too. Worst year of my life. I tried to unalive myself a few times but the last time I tried it I got so scared because I actually wrote a note and didn’t see past the darkness, so I checked myself into a psychiatric hospital and got the help I needed. I’ve currently been on meds for almost 5 years now which have helped and started doing hobbies such as playing guitar, doing jiu jitsu, skateboarding and swimming. I’ve seen much improvement from where I was 5 years ago. While I’ve had some rough moments I still try to keep my feet on the ground and my head on the clouds. I’m living proof that things can get better ❤️🩹

Куча воспоминаний, плохих и хороших, но одинаково бесполезных. Как я прихожу домой, стол уже накрыт, телефон сел и Путин уже начал свои поздравления с очередным словом, что «все будет хорошо». Я выхожу на свою улицу. Стою посередине дороги и в один момент слышу, как раздаются крики «1...2...3...». В ушах заканчивается Only Heaven Nows How I Miserable now.

Пара бутылок самого паскудного вина из ближайшей Пятерочки. Мама встречает праздник с подругами, папа торчит где-то на другом краю страны, в городе, давно уже забытом всеми богами, с черными, от угля, сугробами, пытаясь заработать на нормальную жизнь семье, на светлое будущее дочке. Я не видела его полгода, не видела самого дорогого человека в своей жизни. Сижу на диване, пью кроваво-красную муть из бокала, и мечтаю, о том, что сейчас я открою глаза, и все станет как раньше. Завалится без звонка в дверь мой чутка ебанутый дядя, как всегда с пустыми руками, приедет дедушка и подарит мне еще один золотой крестик, который я так никогда и не надену, бабушка с мамой будут крутиться и бухтеть на кухне, не успевая нарезать колбасу на какой-то там новый салат, вроде "Тосканский", состоящий ровно из тех же ингредиентов, что и Оливье. Отец будет яростно отстаивать право на пульт от телевизора, чтобы переключить уже наконец "этот чертов Голубой огонек, все они там голубые". И будет шум, гам, возня, обязательно разобьют блюдце или пару бокалов, мне пригрозят пальцем за то, что я доедаю уже пятую конфету со стола, хотя гости еще даже не сели. И будет ахуенно. Но я сижу на диване, пью эту мерзкую бадягу с лучшей подругой. У каждой в голове свои печальные мысли, напряженная тишина словно свисает жирными пластом с натяжного потолка. Я вижу на её лице слезы. "Она сказала, что мы не можем быть вместе"... Мне искренне жаль подругу, она боевая девчонка, но эта херня ее здорово расклеила, и честно говоря, уже порядком подзаебала меня. Сердце моей верной ласточки украла, совершенно это не заметив, не желая того, наша общая знакомая. Больно, наверное, в 16 лет влюбиться в стильную девчонку с модным инстаграмом, окружённую толпой поклонников.
Влюбиться в ту, которая шлет эмодзи сердечек и поцелуйчиков в ответ, увы и ах, совершенно не глупую и пустую, к таким чувства проходят дольше. Больно признаться в жизни, еще раз в переписке, и получить в ответ 3-х дневный игнор, а потом сообщение, вроде "Ну что, привет, подружка, пойдем гулять во вторник?! Я по тебе соскучилась, тоже люблю тебя, крошка💜❤"
Моя ненаглядная опустошает очередной стакан, стараясь забыться уже по-скорее в омуте этой млявой терпкой жижи. Ха-ха, малышка, увы, это не надолго. Часа за два, полных длинных и совершенно бессмысленных разговоров, о том, что пора уже это все заканчивать, бутылки плавно опустошаются. Ей так и не стало лучше. Мы включаем песню Take me to church, стараемся как можно быстрее забыться под нее и желательно совсем раствориться сквозь стены.
Ей становится хуево, ведь дешевый алкоголь, юность и нервы никогда не были хорошей компанией. Я судорожно ищу таблетки, не зная даже то, как они выглядят, гуглю симптомы алкогольного отравления. Голова резко становится чистой и ясной, словно водой окатили.
Заставляю ее выпить все, что нашла и много, много воды. Происходит то, что должно было произойти. Я держу ее блядские длинные патлы над унитазом.
В глазах дульцинеи я вижу только винное марево, боль и бессмыслицу. Но ничего, жить будет.
Укладываю ее, накрываю своим, сука, собственным одеялом. Завтра с ней все будет хорошо. Убираю посуду, еще раз поправляю покрывало. Сна ни в одном, гадство, глазу. Прийдется, теперь, как-нибудь коротать время до утра...

Reminds me of a breakup on January 1st 2022. On new years day... for some reason I don't care at all, but this song was playing when she broke up with me via text. I felt sadness at first, but felt some kind of relief afterwards like I dodged a bullet... lots of red flags I ignored I tought about to make sense of the entire painting. I haven't heard this song since then... Gave me flashbacks and in retrospect while smoking some mota from the NL right now, I can say the ride was fun and I have no regrets, even the way it ended was picture perfect, on januari 1st of all days... ❤

Never understood the 'doomer' attraction to this particular song. There a plethora of other Smiths song with a deeper emotional resonance and better instrumental. 'Asleep', 'Unloveable', 'Back To the Old House', 'You've Got Everything Now', 'Girl Afraid', 'I Don't Owe You Anything'.

I haven’t listened to any of those songs, but there is something in this song, the way it is somewhat repetitive and is actually kind of energetic, that is I think, like energy and childishness. This song isn’t completely despairing. “Take me out tonight/cause I wanna see people and I want to see life” sounds like a lonely child who wants to go out. There is a somewhat helpless but still opinionated tone in the words of this song. I think the speaker of the song isn’t actually that grown up, he sounds a little immature. I think that’s why the original “fast” version sounds a little funny. The song is a little...intense and almost flirty, while still being a suicidal song
Because there’s a feeling of longing I think a lot (including me) can relate to. Atleast for me there are a lot of other smiths songs that are deep and emotionally charged but this really resonates with me. I really relate to the song especially the lines “take me out tonight, where there’s music and there’s people who are young alive”. It’s a dark song but there’s a hopeful feeling to it as though you haven’t completely given in to pessimism
