The state park perks are usually determined by residency, age or military status. In FL, if you are old like me, you get 50% off of state park camping fees (that is why our fee at Hillsborough River SP was so low). Although we did travel through IL and Wisconsin last summer, we passed through IL but did camp in Wisconsin at High Cliffs SP. We paid $40/night but residents pay less. I can't remember if they gave a senior discount. If you plan to visit National parks, National Forests, Core of Engineering campgrounds, etc., get yourself a Lifetime Pass (Entry to all National Parks are free (you still pay for a campsite though, 1/2 price) and you get 1/2 off at many other locations). That will pay for itself in no time and will be honored at some state/local parks. We stayed at one campground in Michigan (Brevoort Lake) on National forest land and only paid $16 (no hookups) with our pass.
Nice video. Last video I saw, you all were looking, so I guess you settled on the Promaster. We were at Big Lagoon State Park back in March 2024 during our Spring Break Road Trip. We really enjoyed our stay there but the site that we had (19) was not the best, but we made it work. We are trying to get more videos out. We posted video #2 yesterday. Take care and safe travels. P.S. During our cross country road trip from FL to CA, we stopped at the visitor center with the big star.
@@vanmileswiththeKochs I see. That was the video that I saw when you were shopping. We will be attending the show on Saturday. Hope you had a good time.
@@Road_Trip_Warriors Yes it was nice to meet youtube influencers and view the RVs but it was cold and crowded wow this was our first time at a big show and next time we will go after 2pm. This way we will be able to actually see and video more rigs.
@@vanmileswiththeKochs Yes, it can certainly get crowded. I believe the Florida RV Supershow is the 2nd largest one after Hershey, PA. This will be our 3rd time going. It was cool hanging out with the RUclipsrs. We got to meet Traveling Robert.
So y'all made it to Florida, Cool. And yes it has been so cold! LOL We have been trying to get into Big Lagoon before it closes, but it has been completely booked every weekend!
We reserved a site at Hillsborough River SP for the coming weekend to attend the FL RV Supershow and FL SP cancelled the reservation a week ago stating storm damage. We had to scramble to find other accommodations, and paid a LOT more. About a month ago, they also cancelled our reservations in March at Henderson Beach SP also citing storm damage. We have been striking out all over!
@@Road_Trip_Warriors Oh wow! Sorry to hear that. We usually wait until the weekend before to book and never had a problem, but it's been hard getting into a lot of the parks we usually visit as well.
@@LivingthatFloridaLifeTV We booked that site in early 2024 because we usually attend the show each year. We stayed on the fairgrounds last year but that was a little noisy. After our reservation was cancelled, I did look at the fairground sites again and they changed their policies. Before we paid $50/night. Now they want $400 for all the days of the show. We only need 2 nights.
