Little note for you, the one looking for advice in the comments. I'm currently halfway through Act 8, and it's taken me 5 hours so far. I have the same items as in the video, but I changed the boots. My resistances are terrible; the highest is 50% cold. However, I recommend this build for someone who has a basic understanding of boss mechanics so you don't die a lot, and knows how to use the minions. For the skill tree, I have the same setup as in the videos, BUT with the extra points I get when leveling up, I went for more minion damage (and I don't even have a chest piece). Even in Act 8, they eat through everything easily. I'll update when I finish the acts. So far, it's a solid way to get them done quickly.
That's awesome, thanks for sharing! I don't remember if I struggled with resistances, but that comes down to RNG and finding some decent gear along the way. I definitely agree with what you said about the bosses - there were some fights that felt a lot harder for me than the others and I think it came down to knowledge on phases, patterns, and add spawns.
Though it would seem Hollow Palm + Smite/Volcanic Fissure of Snaking is better for Bottom/Right side leveling, this is still a good showcase of whats possible with the enchants :D Also this is PERFECT for Top/Left leveling, considering that side has been stuck on ArmaBrand Cremation and Firestorm for a while now for efficiency.
@@maxxxxiors You get all of those things on every leveling build, and on top of that you get to use shield charge which is like 3x faster than running even with all that movement speed
This is much better for early acts but after like act 5 hollow palm is superior. The main benifit of this is that you really just need 2 rusted swords with enchants and a unique ring at level 50(optional)
@@KAJYT6969 you can't use shield charge for this build. HP is it physically a slower build for running sure. but its hard to discount having 100k damage in act 5, this build is probably much better in the early game,, is sheild charge better, yes, but there are multiple travel skills that work with this, and are still good. in the end, both are good leveling, but in terms of pure speed of getting to level 70, hollow palm will destroy almost all other builds, since its just such high damage. for not that much investment. and it works on pretty much every character. i will be looking at doing this build this league, but thats mainly because i have done hollow palm so many times, whereas this feels alot like arakalis fang, and i love that build.
Looks nice! But tbh, if you start especially on the right side, just use rain of arrows on one of those low level fast bows, stack flat ele dmg with cheap uniques and heralds, It's super fast and deletes bosses in instant. Oh and that onslaught unique helmet is awesome
If you're rerolling, don't even bother with rain of arrows. Just get darkness enthroned, get thousand ribbons, the IAS gloves on full life, thrillsteel and MS boots, then pop blink arrow/mirror arrow of bombarding/prismaric and just get flat and go through your normal ranger tree. If you think ROA was melting bossess... Then go warden and get a prismaric tincture with whatever.
Rigwald's crest has the same mod as the enchant - having it from LV 20 is nice, but once upon a time (like, 2 years ago iirc) you still had the option to hit a LV 1 corrupt on it, lowering the lvl requirement to 1 as well - so basically the gameplay in this vid except you were able to use bows or 2H weapons as well
I would suggest leveling an alt with (Hollow palm + Volcanic Fissure of Snaking ) U just need a tabula, Volcanic Fissure of Snaking, astramentis, seven league, goldrim and that is it! You can push even to t16 depending on the class/ascendancy!!! (Created my 5th alt this league... That shadow takes me under 3hours to get him act 1 to 10 with all passives and 2 ascendancy trials done!) Don't need to swap skills or anything else. just chill and relax run to A to B. Edit: You start as poison arrow till lv13. Than hollow palm allocated and Volcanic fissure (lv12) you beat the game and push maps if you want.
@@PixellGaming I always do The pathing by myself. But i know that maxroll have a guide to leveling with hollow Palm + volcanic fissure for every base class... It's Just a little bit outdated but the Idea is the same. You can find It on build guides > archived > twink leveling. Edit. Just need to keep in mind volcanic fissure doesn't have proj tag anymore.
This is a great way to get to like end of act 4 maybe end of act 5 but after that it starts to fall off pretty hard. Personally, (after having done this myself) I'd run this until about level 30-35 then swap to dex stacking using Hollowed palm. Much smother to finish acts with imo.
Tbf, if you were planning to swap to hollow palm anyway, it'd probably be better to just start with it - saves time on respec-ing and swapping gear, and smite/volcanic fissure of snaking does perform relatively similar in terms of speed.
At 53 you could use Arakaalis fang and use the usual combo to summon spiders on demand. With Envy in off hand they should gobble up the entire campaign
That sounds like something I'm going to have to try the next time I make an alt! I've never used Fang but I know it's a staple for endgame minion poison builds.
The strat still works! If it is a normal wand, then check the base type to see what level it requires. For example the Carved Wand requires level 12 even without the enchant. If yours requires level 20, then you might have put it on a Calling Wand - or it might have some rare modifier on it that requires level 20 😮
Give the wolves and zombies a try. I'm working on a Necromancer myself with zombies and raging spirits, and I must say I miss having the wolves around!
Man, I just tried this and... it reaaaalllly falls off after Act 4. Fighting Kitava (most bosses actually) was a nightmare. Everything after that was a total slog. Ended up having to swap to something else for Act 10. I must've been doing something wrong
Did you grab the minion damage nodes and place the support gems into the wolf wand? It does fall off without the proper investment, but it still had plenty of oomf to finish the campaign with. The hardest fight for me was Act 8 Solaris/Lunaris Sisters mainly because there were no adds for me to kill in order to summon the wolves.
whole automation might use your guard skill proactively, it also turns the ability for your guard skill to actually defend you against incoming damage into a coin flip. It's more likely than not that your guard skill gets used when you aren't in any danger, only to run off and be on cooldown when you actually do get hit.
@@Cracks094 Or, the compromise: Run Vaal Molten Shell. Coin flip on the normal skill, manual use of the stronger vaal version e.g. when I nuke an expedition site.
I doubt I'll get an answer, but I'm looking to start playing POE and I just don't know what to start with. I read everywhere people say that you should start playing with whatever you want. *I* want a build that will let me make a character that is perfect for farming, but I'm completely new and I don't have anything to set it up with. What's the best class/build for it?
Hey there, unfortunately there's no straight answer to your question. Great builds that function well on a low investment are referred to as "leaguestarters". There's plenty of options and archetypes for you to choose from, so I guess I'd start by asking myself whether you enjoy melee, bows, mage, or minions and go from there. Leaguestarters that are efficient at farming tend to be glass cannon - they put most of their eggs into the damage basket. This playstyle is fun for some but can be really annoying for someone trying to learn the game since you might die a lot. If I could recommend one build for you to start with, then it would be Pohx's Righteous Fire Chieftain. It's a really straightforward build that has great damage and solid defenses. The gameplay is a bit unengaging in my opinion, but that also makes it perfect for learning since you can focus your attention on game mechanics. ruclips.net/video/9GOTQK3jkD0/видео.html Here's a link to the video. This creator also goes above and beyond in providing out-of-game resources for making the build. I hope this helps, and I hope you give PoE a try!
Just getting round to giving this a go now and my Ilvl 15 one handed swords now require level 15 for me to use them after putting the runesmithing crafts on them. Did I do something wrong? Have I missed something? Cant use them until hitting level 15 now on my alt :(
Hmm, what is the base type of the sword? There might be other modifiers on the item that make it require level 15. You can scour the sword to remove the other mods without affecting the enchant if that's the case. The enchant on a normal item with no other mods should have a level 1 requirement. Let me know if you manage to get it working!
@@InsPoE I sorted it bro. Turns out I am just an idiot and even though I bought the swords of Tarkliegh in act 1 doesnt mean I can use them. I bought 2 broud Sword bases and they cant be used until level 15 lol. Im just dumb. Thanks though bro, your video helped a lot.
No I don't think so, I tried the setup into white maps and the damage/survivability of the wolves falls off a cliff. If you find a way to make it work past the campaign, then make sure to let me know!
Yes, this can be done on the Marauder or any class. The Ranger is the worst option which I intentionally picked to demonstrate the worst case scenario. The closer you start to the left side of the tree, the easier this strategy will be :)
Hey there, if you're struggling with some of the bosses that don't summon many adds then I'd recommend the Writhing Jar unique flask or The Hateful Accuser unique ring. These items will allow you to spawn your own enemies into those fights, which you can kill to summon your wolves. This was a tip given to me by other players who were also feeling the fall off near the end.
you have to do the quest (fallen from grace) from lilly roth in act 6 to clear the "Twilight strand". clear that and she will sell all gems. You can also put her in your Hideout to buy from there as well
You might have to upgrade your runesmithing table a few times. I tried checking the wiki but couldn't find what level table is required for the crafts. But I do know you get it quite early!
@@yamilopr www.poewiki.net/wiki/Link_skill This is what I meant by link skill. If you aren't using one of these and you are still dying when the wolves die then I'm not sure what's happening :(
But gotta do it early - if you wait until after the campaign, it's not that cheap (considering you spent the acts barely getting any gold as well) - make sure you have your gold reserves before twinking ^^
@@LordAnublz I'd savee the c, lowbudget farm white maps until you get the gold, takes about an hour tops, that 25c could be another piece towards your midgame set. don't waste resources you don't need too, ever.
@@phailpoet1651 we talk about leveling an alt, 1. who cares about 25c 2. farming an hour for some gold instead? in that hour i just could make some more divines instead. (and the gold :D) time is the most value ressource! gold is way more scares than a few chaos when you are at your 2nd char.

Hey there, I used the Ranger in this video. You can try out this leveling strategy with any of the seven classes since it relies on gear more than class-specific passives 🙂
@@InsPoE thanks awesome video by the way out of curiosity do you know if there is a build guide past the lvl'ing strat? I like what ive done so far and want to go further but cant find anything
@@jedichef170 What class, ascendency, and archetype are you hoping to play? The leveling strat is fantastic to get you through the campaign, but it falls off very quickly in the endgame. If you enjoy the minion playstyle then there might be a few builds that come to mind. But to answer your question blind, I can vouch for Lightning Strike Slayer, Ice Nova of Frostbolts Hierophant, Hexblast Mines Trickster, Righteous Fire Chieftain, and SRS Necromancer being fantastic builds to try out this league.
@@jedichef170 Ah okay, I haven't tried it this league but I would suggest the Corrupting Fever archetype. It uses wands and Kinetic Blast/Bolt to apply debuffs onto enemies to kill them. Maxroll has a few guides on Corrupting Fever, and I believe you can find some great guides by TripolarBear on RUclips. If you're looking for something to grind out and really sink your teeth into, then I'd suggest looking into Kinetic Bolt INT Stacking. This is NOT beginner friendly and VERY expensive, but a very strong build if you can get it setup!
I might be missing something but how does faster attacks support work on the wolf wand? Are the wolves considered an attack skill? Also I hit A6 and while the damage is still good I'm a glass cannon and get one shot by most bosses, any suggestions?
So the wolf skill will be supported by any gems you place into the wolf wand. So faster attacks, minion speed, and your choice of melee splash or multistrike will all apply to the wolves if you place it in the enchanted wand. If you've already taken the minion damage nodes, then my suggestion would be to spend a few more points on life. And of course check to see that your elemental resistances are above 50% and that you've got some armor. I equipped a rare armor chestplate with life to help me feel a bit more tanky.
@@InsPoE Thanks, guess I was under the impression that faster attacks didn't affect minions but just checked with summon zombie and it had the check, my bad
It's viable first 5 acts after that falls straight off the cliff being a terrible experience with most wolves dying in first half fight and then you have to somehow end it with kinetic. Don't recommend it for whole campaign tho it might be good till I get my main skill kind of early campaign build.
Hey there, the wolves have a duration of 30 seconds (which can be modified with skill effect duration). They aren't dying, but they are expiring which is a problem when the boss doesn't summon any adds. Some folks have recommended the Writhing Jar Flask or Hateful Accuser Ring to address this problem. I haven't tried it myself but it should greatly improve the sluggish feeling of this setup in fights like Act 8 Lunaris/Solaris or Act 9 Trinity where the bosses have multiple phases and summon little or no adds. Hope this helps!
Both gems will work if the minions are using an attack. Minion speed gives a balance between move speed, cast speed, and attack speed whereas faster attacks gives a lot of attack speed.
if its your second character just use viper strike of the mamba with ancestral call and damage over time support gems literally one tap everything no enchants no nothing needed
I tried with no minion tree, but in act 4-6 for some bosses the wolves expire and i have to kill them very slowly with lvl 1 swords. Then i just gave up. I would still prefer a setup that I don't have anxiety of the wolves not lasting long enough for some fights.
Once Lv50+ get the Hateful accuser nameless ring. It gives you Penance mark which spawns enemy minions for you to kill mid-bossing fights. Other than that pathing to get more minions duration is the only thing that helped me early on. It's nothing of a perfect strategy I agree with you. Whenever your wolves run out it's extremely annoying. But quite an interesting strat showcase imo.
I left it empty during the campaign. Asenath's Mark is nice for the spell damage it provides but any gems socketed into it only become usable via trigger on bow attack. You might be able to fit in some auras in those sockets since auras can never be triggered!
@@valtaracasualgaming5895 I'll be expecting 11 life runes and 8 war runes in my inbox 😉. Just kidding of course, I'm always happy to double check these strats to see if they've been silently hotfixed. Have fun on your new character!
So while the minion nodes on tree will be more damage you will need a lottttt of respecs which i feel defeats the point of some of the gear shown being cheaper. If your gonna have to invest in respecs might as well invest in leveling gear to make it faster and smoother.
Hey there, something I forgot to mention in the video is that you can now respec with gold using Faustus. It's not too expensive around when you finish the campaign, but it scales up to become expensive once you start mapping.
Still. Respecing upwards of at least 25 points seems a bit crazy when the wolves are good enough (esp with minion damage essences) their own that you could path for most nodes you need for you build and still clear the campaign in 3-5 hrs. Seem like wasted gold/respec imo but to each their own!
@@DarkBiCin Respecing the entire tree even without using Faustus gold costs like 30 chaos max to buy orbs of regret. This video is about leveling an ALT. So naturally it prioritizes saving valuable time over saving 30 chaos LOL. Can easily make more in divines/hr by being time efficient.
I would add _Phase Run_ (Green, Level 34) since it gives a short movement speed buff along with the ability to move through mobs. (Frees up a flask.) Tabula Rasa is 20c and worth it too IMHO.
Hey there, I'm using Envy from the enchanted wand - this will reserve 50% of your mana. I also suggest using Precision to give you and your minions some Accuracy Rating.
Whelp. Enjoy it while it lasts. GGG will nerf it so the campaign can be as miserable and slow as possible lol. Poet's pen was nerfed specifically because of how useful it was for leveling alts.
@@T3N54Z4NG3T5U sadly GGG disabled that years ago for some reason - there's so many Twink techniques/gear in the game, and _this_ is what they deny us? I still don't get it
i followed the reddit user's guide to the t including using "any melee skill, i used frostblades" frostblades could only clear white packs and did nothing else even with 4 link because of the lvl 1 swords the idiot recommended, obviously using wands and SPELLS that scale with gem level is the way to go. also the automated convocation goes off way too much and just makes you lose half the tanking and dps on wolves anyway. and im 90% sure my wolves did not get the support gem buffs cuz they did jack shit to everything after act 2. spending 20-40c on any normal twink levelling like +1 wands and shit with a basic 4 link with qualitied gems and shit is SO much better than this trash, not that this cant be used alongside but goddamn dont bother
Something nobody ever uses for levleing alts for some reason is The Traitor Brutal Restraint Balbala keystone, 4 flask charges every 5 seconds for each empty flask slot easy permanent Onslaught + Quicksilver flasks
How these suppose to be a new character when you have all city upgraded, when I start new char I do not have any of those enchants - so this is not work for the 1st character as I lvl 60 and still do not have these wolves in the crafting box in the city as well as craft resources of it. So this work for the 2nd char start not NEW.
You're absolutely right and I make no effort to hide that. An "alt" refers to any character you make after your first. I also mention it in the video at 2:34, but I will avoid using the phrase "new" character to prevent confusion. Thanks for the feedback!
for players that have a bunch of currency, BAMA leveling is way faster than wolves, but more expensive. (like 1 to 2 divs) You can finish the campaing in less then 3 hours.
You (the player) needs to actively use your abilities to kill things to summon the wolves. They have a duration of 30 seconds. This isn't a permanent minion build, sorry if I did not communicate that properly in the video.
At 60+ you can add a Writhing Jar to help spawning wolves on add lacking fights
That's a great tip, Solaris/Lunaris Sisters was definitely a tough fight since they spawn no adds.

I definitely agree with what you said about the bosses - there were some fights that felt a lot harder for me than the others and I think it came down to knowledge on phases, patterns, and add spawns.
Thank you so much for this. I hate leveling. This can make the levelinglife a lot easier!
You're welcome! Check the pinned comment and try out the Writhing Jar tech for Acts 9 and 10 when the bosses become a bit more tanky :)
Hollow Palm is pretty slow. You can't use shield charge so it limits your leveling quite a lot. 90% of the campaign is walking
@@KAJYT6969 quicksilver flasks with inc effect and seven league steps, onslaught effect and rangers movement speed from ascendancy, it's not slow
This league really got that dog in it.
No Rigwald's Crest for even more doggys!? F. the Thiefs torment
Thx for the great explanation very much appreciated 😊
You're welcome! 🙂
During one season I found a ring that summoned wolves and it was so insane. They killed everything lol
Rigwald's crest has the same mod as the enchant - having it from LV 20 is nice, but once upon a time (like, 2 years ago iirc) you still had the option to hit a LV 1 corrupt on it, lowering the lvl requirement to 1 as well - so basically the gameplay in this vid except you were able to use bows or 2H weapons as well
Season? What season? This isn't Fort night battle pass buddy
@@Sammysapphira Its been called seasons or ladders in every single game before PoE. "league" is an atypical thing, not seasons lmao
I would suggest leveling an alt with (Hollow palm + Volcanic Fissure of Snaking )
U just need a tabula, Volcanic Fissure of Snaking, astramentis, seven league, goldrim and that is it!
You can push even to t16 depending on the class/ascendancy!!!
(Created my 5th alt this league... That shadow takes me under 3hours to get him act 1 to 10 with all passives and 2 ascendancy trials done!)
Don't need to swap skills or anything else. just chill and relax run to A to B.
Edit: You start as poison arrow till lv13.
Than hollow palm allocated and Volcanic fissure (lv12) you beat the game and push maps if you want.
Did u find this strat somewhere? Video/channel? Seems interesting
Awesome strat! Thank you!
This is both amazing and funny, a personal pack of wolves lol thanks dude. 🤠👍
This is a great way to get to like end of act 4 maybe end of act 5 but after that it starts to fall off pretty hard. Personally, (after having done this myself) I'd run this until about level 30-35 then swap to dex stacking using Hollowed palm. Much smother to finish acts with imo.
Yep. Just carried a friend through act 5-10 after they tried this strat. It was fine, but a proper leveling setup beats it.
You can get the wands from Nessa in Act 1
is thet strat fixed? i craft voolfs on a vand and it is lvl 20 damend
The strat still works! If it is a normal wand, then check the base type to see what level it requires. For example the Carved Wand requires level 12 even without the enchant.
If yours requires level 20, then you might have put it on a Calling Wand - or it might have some rare modifier on it that requires level 20 😮
I enjoyed 'Skillgrimage' a lot.
Really nice for a base template. Can add a bunch of tech to this to put it on crack
If I'm leveling necromancer (witch), should I still use the wolves or can I just use my zombies/skeletons?
Give the wolves and zombies a try. I'm working on a Necromancer myself with zombies and raging spirits, and I must say I miss having the wolves around!
Item list and gem list onthe note or on a POB would have made this better, but thank you For the content.
This is freaking awesome thanks!
I always use that rigwald ring it's op
I prefer Automation on the Guard Skill over CWDT as CWDT uses it reactively while Automation can use it proactively.
whole automation might use your guard skill proactively, it also turns the ability for your guard skill to actually defend you against incoming damage into a coin flip. It's more likely than not that your guard skill gets used when you aren't in any danger, only to run off and be on cooldown when you actually do get hit.
@@Cracks094 Or, the compromise: Run Vaal Molten Shell. Coin flip on the normal skill, manual use of the stronger vaal version e.g. when I nuke an expedition site.
very funny, I'll definitely try it now (even though BAMA do the same thing)

The gameplay is a bit unengaging in my opinion, but that also makes it perfect for learning since you can focus your attention on game mechanics.
ruclips.net/video/9GOTQK3jkD0/видео.html
Here's a link to the video.
Could this be a fully build with Squire implemented?
No I don't think so, I tried the setup into white maps and the damage/survivability of the wolves falls off a cliff. If you find a way to make it work past the campaign, then make sure to let me know!
bro's bossing in the campaign
Great video keep going ❤❤
Thank you! 😄
Could you even do this with Maurader or is it just for Ranger?
Yes, this can be done on the Marauder or any class. The Ranger is the worst option which I intentionally picked to demonstrate the worst case scenario. The closer you start to the left side of the tree, the easier this strategy will be :)
I am doing this strategy the second time now and for some reason it is underperforming hard. Kinetic bolt is NOT scaling properly for some reason.
The hardest leveling up in my life.
Got to act 8 with better gear than video and this has fallen off HARD - any tips?
Hey there, if you're struggling with some of the bosses that don't summon many adds then I'd recommend the Writhing Jar unique flask or The Hateful Accuser unique ring.
These items will allow you to spawn your own enemies into those fights, which you can kill to summon your wolves. This was a tip given to me by other players who were also feeling the fall off near the end.
Where is that vendor with all thoose gems. I am in act 8 and can't say I've seen that
you have to do the quest (fallen from grace) from lilly roth in act 6 to clear the "Twilight strand". clear that and she will sell all gems. You can also put her in your Hideout to buy from there as well
i cant find the envy and wolves on my runesmith table
You might have to upgrade your runesmithing table a few times. I tried checking the wiki but couldn't find what level table is required for the crafts. But I do know you get it quite early!

@@InsPoE oh ok i like the kenetic build more my playstyle
I wonder if you can double dip with Absolution of Inspiration for this?
splitting steel + whirling blades with haste and foxshade is a LOT faster
Ouu this is an interesting one
aberrath boots and double wolves enchant?
that sounds nutty
do i have to have a certain lvl of smithing to get envy?
nvm lol got it
I might be missing something but how does faster attacks support work on the wolf wand?
Does faster attacks really work on minions? Don't you just use increased minion speed or whatever the blue minion gem is?
Both gems will work if the minions are using an attack. Minion speed gives a balance between move speed, cast speed, and attack speed whereas faster attacks gives a lot of attack speed.
protip: replace kinetic bolt with power siphon (+lmp) asap, bolt is just...awful
Used the wolves 2 league ago to help level. Definitely very helpful and OP
if its your second character just use viper strike of the mamba with ancestral call and damage over time support gems literally one tap everything no enchants no nothing needed
the temple belt with inc duration aslo the ultimatum attack speed rings might be great addition too
what's it called?
use a sword/dagger/claw, use frost blades, use whirling blades, fly through acts
Personally doing wolves until around 24 or so then just switching to a normal hollow palm leveling build was faster than doing the wolf strat.
Do you use gems in your helmet? Didnt catch that
I left it empty during the campaign. Asenath's Mark is nice for the spell damage it provides but any gems socketed into it only become usable via trigger on bow attack. You might be able to fit in some auras in those sockets since auras can never be triggered!
@@InsPoE Aye! Tnx!

(Frees up a flask.)
Tabula Rasa is 20c and worth it too IMHO.
Tabula isn't needed here, dmg comes from wolves in wand.

You (the player) needs to actively use your abilities to kill things to summon the wolves. They have a duration of 30 seconds. This isn't a permanent minion build, sorry if I did not communicate that properly in the video.
