    Hi John, I hope you are well! Six months ago you helped me with a question about the Roland BK7m on another channel. I thank you from the heart!
    I am programming my Bk7m with 8 measures in each variation, with the music harmonies all ready, so that I can go from Vairar 1 to 4 via footswit (because I play the guitar), but no matter what tone I set, the tempo 1 of the first measure of each variation, it always performs in C (standard chord that remains in the BK7m's memory). I was unable to solve this problem. If I disable the standard chord, I am out of harmony. Could you give your opinion?

      Hi Leno, No i cannot think of any way around that. I no longer have the BK-7m as, in common with most of the gear on this channel, I do not keep anything all that long.

    Hi John, I bought one of these a few months ago and use it with an Epiphone 339 Ultra guitar, a Roland GK3 pickup and a Roland GI10 controller. It takes a bit of time to set it up properly but the sounds from this thing are just amazing. It would be perfect for a "One Man Band" operation. A friend of mine uses one with a Casio midi guitar in cabaret. I haven't yet taken it to The Wheatsheaf but....

      I feel I have just skimmed the surface of its capabilities but it is an improvement on my past efforts. During Glasgow's Garden Festival I wired a set of bass pedals that I had salvaged off an old Farfisa organ to a Yamaha PSR-70 keyboard. If I set the PSR to fingered chord I could get bass and drums while I played my guitar. Somewhat clumsy but it worked.

    Hi @UC07MnWDDnmKkawYUUty0Zaw, I'm from Brazil and I used the translator to send you this message. My Bk7m after a short time connected via USB or via MID, the connection drops and I have to redo the wizard. Already checked the cables and are ok. Could you suggest something to solve this? Know a link where I can get information? Thanks.

    • @JohnCouplandguitar
      @JohnCouplandguitar  4 года назад +1

      Your MIDI cable may have a weak spot so a new cable is worth trying. If the MIDI plug has ever been hit then that could cause the circuit board to fracture. Last of all a drop in the power supply could cause the fault you are describing. Hope that helps.

    I'm piloting BK-7m with Roland PRO-E (arranger).
    Pro-E arranger comes complete with a keyboard while BK-7m does not.
    I connected OUT of the PRO-E to IN of BK7.
    I put the same channel as the SYNC START and the same channel as the DRUM (ch 10).
    I have turned OFF the accompaniments of the PRO-E, so when I press a key the BK7 drums start.
    However, if you strike a chord on the PRO-E, the drums of the BK-7m will start, but the accompaniments will not start.
    How can I solve the problem?

    • @JohnCouplandguitar
      @JohnCouplandguitar  2 года назад

      Perhaps the MIDI message to turn off the PRO's accompaniments is being transmitted to the BK? In that case undo the action and turn the PRO's acc volume down, Other things to try:- Can both units be set to OMNI or would setting both to Ch1 work? Try splitting the Pro's keyboard?

    • @carlodeluca3245

      @@JohnCouplandguitar PRO-E accompaniments are OFF. The NOTE TO ARRANGER setting is set to channel 1 on both BK7 and PRO-E. But when I play a chord on the PRO-E, the BK plays the SYNC of the drums and the C major chord. If I change agreement on PRO-E, the BK does not change it.

    I really like this unit's compact size. My question is: Can I get the same effects from an "arranger keyboard "? The jeybiard arrangers seem easier to find used, but of course are longer and need a longer stand or table. Any ideas?

      The BK-3,5 & 7 all do more or less the same thing. These come up s/h from time to time.

    By the way, I use a Ketron SD90 (module version of the SD 9 keyboard) with a Yamaha Tyros 3 (what plays the Ketron drums) and a Roland Jupiter 50 (as piano) and perform Worship music with this.

    When playing rhythms, can you take the bass part out?

    • @JohnCouplandguitar
      @JohnCouplandguitar  Год назад

      You may have to go into Preferences and mute the bass part there. If you then save that as either your default or just as a simple pre-set then you will be able to change rhythms without having to go through all that.
