i'm 180cm and rode 800mm bars for about 3 -4 years cut almost 2 year ago to 770mm and it fits me a lot more. i feel as stable when i need to but more nimble and easier to throw around (i ride enduro trail/with a nukie290). you look so confident on that thing ! good on you mate !
great stuff...remember with ebikes - keep the cadence around 85rpm...i have it on my shmano display, and my garmin for the other stuff..
as people ride in too high a gear as well as start a ride in too high a gear (you don't start your car in 3rd gear, do you?), and never change gear under load either... buy a chain measuring tool andf that'll help protect your drivechain... i got over 1500 miles on a chain...
i dont have a display on mine, why keep cadence up? does the motor prefer it?

Ebike allows you to do more trails which will only bring on your riding Gordy. Need to get myself one...

You will probably need to cut the forks down to fit, you might as well do the handle bars while you are at it! I found 800 too wide!
all done! got forks fitted today, i cut steerer same length as the one that was on, also cut bars down to 780. slowly getting it how i want it!!

new fork is on, not ridden yet though, hopefully next weekend. im gonna use these bars as test bars, so first cut will be down to 780, (thats what i 'm used to but had considered going down to 770) see how i like it. if i still feel like i want to go to 770 i'll cut these bars again. want to really get used to different widths before i buy a better bar. i fancy one up!!
@@DownhillDesireMTB yeah makes sense to cut down the bars you've got to get the width you're happy with. No point spending if you don't need to.
Nice one Gordy, I moved my power switch to other side of break lever as I kept knocking into turbo mode by accident 🤙
just tried moving mine today, can't make it work as it puts my brake lever to far away for m comfort
@@DownhillDesireMTB I didn’t move the brake lever mate just the power switch to the right of the brake lever

well done mate, the Ebike has given you more confidence. Just need them forks changed and get used to the weight.
forks on Marc, just got to go through the ball ache of setting them up lol
better to descend in eco gordy. running in EMTB still allows the overun when you stop pedalling and i find the motor sometimes comes in too harshly and makes the wheel slip or front lift when pushing hard
yea, ive popped a few un expected wheelies too, might give the green light a bash lol
My boardman mtr as wide bars hit a tree went over bars hit my hands bad 2 weeks off
just cut mine down today, too scary with wide bars haha

on flat and uphills yes. and it really helps to keep momentum on trails that have a few up sections that come up on you quickly
Hi fella,not long subscribed to your channel, ive had my ebike for a couple of months ,having not ridden for years properly (other than a ride up the coast on a hardtail) they are a game changer im like yourself probably more of a beginner than you and find the ebike definitely encourages confidence. Also like you i cut my 800mm bars down to 780mm 😂 keep up the good work ! May bump into you some time

@@DownhillDesireMTB I had a go of a friend's when I was thinking about another full suspension analogue and immediately I was sold,I was going to keep my cannondale hardtail for occasional use but sold it I'll never ride a non eeb again .suits my needs and aging body perfect. I'm from Sunderland 👍🏻
